“This is how you say goodbye: squeezing a hand that still feels alive, kissing the warm cheek, whispering into the ear you know can’t hear to say you love her and you wish you’d told her more often, that you’re not ready, but you promise you’ll be okay.”
-Amy Dressler, The Best Advice
In The Best Advice Roz has taken over her late mother’s advice column ‘Kate Knows Best’ and now she thinks she knows what’s best for her close friends and co-workers. Their gentle push back and Roz’s own growing awareness that what works for her doesn’t necessarily work for others makes this a very engaging story about personal growth that also mixes in a little romance for everyone. Since I’ve never seen or read Shakespeare’s play As You Like It that this is based on I can’t say how well it works as a retelling, but I never felt that I was missing out on anything. My thanks to Librarything Early Reviewers and the publisher for an ebook copy to review.
