This book is a great introductory guide to the outdoors for kids, and is clear and comprehensive in its coverage of all aspects of the skills needed to really enjoy being outdoors. The author gives easy to understand guidance of every step, and the videos are a useful expansion of the text. It is clear on what requires more careful, and practices how to stay calm in confusing or difficult situations, giving kids the confidence to get out there and thrive. Heartily recommended.

A useful book with some good information for anyone who hikes and enjoys the wild outdoors. I believe there was more info available through some links posted from time to time. I couldn't take advantage of them myself, but at least some of you may be able to check them out.
The title of the book tells it all. Certainly the book is useful to adults as much as kids.

Fantastic introduction to wilderness survival and skills. Fun, engaging, and practical. Would recommend enthusiastically to anyone with a love of the outdoors and an interest in keeping your kids safe and educated on their surroundings
