Veil of Power #3

Veil of Obsession

STANDALONE in a dark mafia romance series.

When fantasies turn into obsession, limits no longer exist.

Princess
Born into a world where silence and perfection are demanded, I learned to hide my rebellion in shadows. My freedom came in the form of Lucio Folonari—the reckless black sheep of the Camorra, the man no one can control. Watching him became my escape. Claiming him in secret became my addiction.
Every move. Every woman. Every threat—I erased them all.
But one mistake lit a fuse I can’t extinguish. A hack that exposed me. A war that could destroy us both. Now Lucio knows exactly how dangerous I am. And I don’t know if he’ll save me…or ruin me.

Lucio Folonari
Chaos is my second skin. I was never meant to be tamed, least of all by a girl who’s been stalking me from the shadows. Princess is a problem—too bold, too reckless, too tempting.
She broke into my world, crossed lines she can’t uncross, and now her obsession is dragging us both into the fire. My family demands loyalty. My blood demands vengeance. But she makes me want something I was never meant to have.
Her.

Will obsession be their destruction…or the only thing strong enough to make them fight for each other?

Sera Marron is a Dark romance enthusiast. She enjoys coming up with dark, twisted and delicious villains for her heroins. When she isn’t doing that, Sera is usually consuming too much caffeine in the form of energy drinks.

Taking a gap year before studying Computer Science in England, her love for writing had flourished once again.

When she’s not writing, you can find her avoiding human interactions as much as possible, listening to explicit songs at full volume, feeding stray cats, and staying up late obsessing over fictional characters.

A couple blinded by their obsession with each other…she’s been stalking him for three years. He’s decided she’s already his. This is Veil of Obsession.

Princess (yes, it’s her name) is the daughter of a Mafia made man, and granddaughter of the Yakuza. Her life is made of expectations that she never seems to meet.

But she has a secret life, hidden from her abusive mother - she stalks Lucio, brother of the Capo.

Lucio doesn’t seem to fit with his family. He is constantly disappointing them with his playboy lifestyle. Lately, though, someone has been targeting the women he’s been seen with…

This is book three in a series. I haven’t read the other two but I kept up with most of the story pretty well. Where I had problems was the second half of the book. The timing seemed to jump in odd ways, and there were some big questions that didn’t get answered. The ending really didn’t seem to fit the couple or the rest of the book in my opinion.

This is a medium burn, very open door book. There are multiple trigger warnings, including kidnapping, stalking, abusive parental relationship, parental sickness, injury and death.

This book is aimed at fans of dark mafia romances. While it wasn’t quite right for me, there will be others who enjoy it.

**SPOLIERS AHEAD**

For some time now, I have seen an edit for this series especially Veil of Vengeance on TikTok, and I've had it saved for I think a year now or more, so when I finally reached a time where I needed a book recommendation, I finally decided to take the plunge and read the series.

When it comes to Lucio and Princess story, JUSTT WOWW! I think there story being a stalker story and have it be the FMC be the stalker was so good!! But omg the whole time it was just that tension of it being mysterious but once alivio finds out his stalker is female and then finds out that it’s Princess from the Gala and then her breaking into his apartment just the steamy mess launched from there. I think the best part of thee book definitely had to be the ending the book and how Lucio’s mom died and just it all going to hell and everyone blaming Princess and then Lucio in a way being forced to choose his love to Princess me then be exilied. But omgg just seeing them have a kid and still be on the run was heart breaking and then he brought the dinner and the land i was like omggg but i personally don’t think this is the last we will see of them. I REFUSE TO BELEIEVE IT!!!

IM SOO INTRIGUED TO WHAT MARA BOOK WILL ENTAIL!!!

So I might have not gotten the memo that says that a lot of dark romance books HAVE to be written like script. Maybe so that the book will be easily transformed into a movie if it’s picked up by a movie director. Or is it just that a lot of author seems to mistake script and book writing ?

Because why would authors insert such USELESS and meaningless piece of detail at EVERY turn ???
Details, when placed tastefully, can add a lot to a story, context or even add some Easter egg. But then over described books are, to me, the worst pet peeves EVER.
Why, JUST WHY, would you need to add that the MMC left a building with his hair still wet or for example this:

“As soon as I hit the top, I click the "open" button on my keys, hearing my car beep in response across the empty lot.” Or even this “ Stepping down the three small stairs, I enter the living room.”

As for the character I only got to read 1 chapter in the FMC POV so I won’t talk about her, but as for the MMC, he seems insufferable!! And I read in another review that he doesn’t even end up growing as a character by the end of the book ? Hmmmm count me all the way out

Okay… rules are completely flipped in this book, this time the MMC isn’t the stalker, but the female character is. And honestly, I loved this twist.

From the very first page, I was hooked by our FMC—Princess. Her obsession, her teasing, her daring energ, it made the story feel fresh and addictive.

The stalking, the tension, and of course the spicy scenes… OMG 🔥🔥🔥

One of my absolute favorite parts? Whenever Bianca, Lucio’s niece, got involved 😂 Those scenes had me laughing so much.

I won’t spoil anything, but by the end of the book I was crying. And while Eli completely stole my heart in the first two books, in this one… I ended up really disliking him (you’ll understand when you read 👀).

Although this can be read as a standalone, I definitely recommend reading the first two books in the series for the full experience and character depth.

📖 Veil of Obsession is gripping, twisted, emotional, and full of heat, I couldn’t put it down.

When the FMC is doing the stalking??? Sign me up!
This book was a rollercoaster of laughter and tearing session that gave me something to look forward to every minute of the main characters Banter, teasing and fights.
Looking for where the MMC follows and stands by the FMC through the worst and hard times these couples are the definition, Princess and Lucio (Stalker K!ller X her obsession) and she watches him without remorse? PERFECTLY and respectfully of course...

I am here for the reverse! I love a good man stalking trope but the female doing the stalking was just as good if not better. This book is a rollercoaster of emotions from happy to tears to anger at the MMC and his choices! However at the end I would give anything to read this again for the first time just to go through those experiences again! The title is so fitting for the book too. I am just so happy I got to read this and 10/10 recommend going through it but don’t say I don’t warn you. This is not a gushy cliche romance. This is raw and real. 🩷

I was a little unsure about this story at first, but Lucio and Princess’s story blew me away. I do not want to give away any spoilers, but I will say that I was not expecting the ending, especially since these two lovebirds are unhinged in their own rightful ways. They are a perfect match. I loved the steamy chemistry between them. I wish we could have had a little more plot, but overall, it's a highly recommended read.

That was such a sad ending that I didn’t expect because of book 1 and 2. I thought his brother would understood more. I still don't get what the hatred between them since the beginning. Maybe there’s a consideration in the next book? I felt like it was not done and some places are unexplained and unfinished. I hoped they'll be better at the end, because they value family, and all.

Think powerful mafia families collide into one and another but this one with a twist - not with the typical arranged marriage style, but with the twisted obsession of the FMC! Kudos! That's definitely an interesting one! Oh yeah, thier dynamics are one hell of a ride — together with unexpected turn of events? I find myself flipping the page faster than ever. Grateful for the ARC opportunity.

Ok so out of the 3 books this one was the most whiplashy. While I love a man who would die for his girl I felt like Lucio didn’t have any development as a character. I felt very confused in chapters and I’m sad to write that because I loved the first 2 and like the authors style of writing. Maybe it’s just me?
