Overall, I found this to be an enjoyable read. It's an interesting take on what extraterrestrial life or intelligence could look like weaved into a classic struggle against a dictatorial and repressive government. I look forward to the sequel.
The premise of this book got me hooked. The innocence/naivete of the main character was compelling but after awhile incomprehensible. The cruelty and instability of the union and rebels sad and too close to reality.
What a story, what a writer. Mystery, war, compassion, self worth,,truths of man and woman, life, governments, way of life. Is all in this story. And it is written in a way that it keeps you splendidly asking what is the next to happen.
