A day at a Tampa festival brings laughter and questions for Hali Waverly and Gray Hunter. Fun and games lead to a fortune teller, who warns them of incoming trouble. Hali laughs it off, but when they get home, they find the police have shut down the road in front of Paradise Lodge. There’s a body in the median, and Hali knows the victim. In fact, the dead witch is a member of her grandmother’s coven. But why was the victim so close to Hali’s home? Was she trying to warn her of something? Hali and Gray start digging and find things they weren’t expecting, including an undercover group of witches and warlocks selling their services at area farmer’s markets. The mystery only deepens when the victim’s body goes missing…and shows up again on the beach, this time with two other dead witches. This isn’t zombies, though, it’s ghouls…and somebody is raising them for a very specific purpose. The deeper Hali digs, the closer to home she gets. She assumes her newest enemy Hester is behind the ghouls, but the truth is much more nefarious. St. Pete Beach is about to be overrun with the dead. Sadly, the enemy might be the last person Hali ever expected.
There isn't much I can say about this installment of the series without spoilers, so I will just say I enjoyed it for the most part. There is a plot twist that is interesting and devious. Some unexpected information came to light that was shocking, and I can't wait for the next book to see where the author takes us! I'm still waiting for Rusty to get his act together and find his soul mate. In the meantime, his antics of teaching Hallie's brother to be a ladies man has me laughing out loud! This series needs to be read in order for continuity. I highly recommend it!
Hali & Grey are enjoying a fun day off but on arriving home are met with multiple police cars blocking the road to the resort complex, right by Hall's villa. Turns out a body has been found stretched out on the median, it's a female with no visible signs as to what might have killed her. Bali & Grey both view the body, just in case they might recognise her and while Grey has never seen her before it's someone Hali knows well. The dead woman is a witch and a member of the same coven as Hali....................Hali and Grey don't know if but what killed her and why she was killed will put both of them (and.those.they love) in serious danger....................
Join Hali, Gray and the gang for some mysterious deaths of witches and warlocks that may signify the return of Hester, Hali’s nemeses who wants her crushed. Along the way we have to find the reason behind the witches and warlocks deaths, and what strange bracelets they are wearing might be the solution to why they are in trouble. I suggest you read this book because it very well might explain why Hester is after Hali and her grandmother and how things might look bleak before they find all the answers they seek, this will come to it’s best in the future, we hope anyways;)
I love this series. This one surprised me a bit. No spoilers, but it is a great addition and finally answers some questions. It is a must read. I was thoroughly engrossed from page one and devoured the book very quickly. Which of course made me want the next one, but we wait. I highly recommend for anyone who likes supernatural mysteries with plenty of action, some romance and lots of snark. If you are a fan of Amanda M. Lee this is a great series, but I love all her work I have read so far and she has all her books on KU.
This book as well as the entire series is fun to read. Has a cozy paranormal mystery as well as lots of sarcasm and laugh out loud moments. The characters have been well developed throughout the series. I can visualize each of the characters, as well as their mannerisms. I recommend reading from book 1 so you can understand the connects and histories of characters. Love this book.
I am not one of those people that ruin the book for everyone who read the reviews. With that said...this book in the series is one that caught me off guard. It's full of twists and turns like the other book in this series with all the great characters we know and love. Great laughs and a huge shocker! If you what to know what the shocker is you just have to read the book for yourself. Happy reading
The changes in her family relationships, even in Wayne will be huge. Sadly this book seemed sloppily written. Many things like shifters having better senses of smell, and everyone seeming to forget most of their previous adventures resulted in this one feeling limp.
I love this series. The characters are entertaining, and the plot was intriguing - especially when you get to the twist at the end. Didn't expect that at all. Can't wait for the next book to see the fallout.
Great read. The ghouls are for blood, Hester may or may not be out to get our hero, and the shifters are still in disarray. Oh, did I mention Grandma has some surprises in store for us.
This book took a twist I wasn’t expecting and I like it! Great story. As always I enjoy Hali and Gray together. I like the development in Rusty and even Wayne. Looking forward to the next book.
Just when you think you have the story all figured out, you find out you don’t. All I can say is that Hali has some things to work out. And a way to deal with someone she loves, but no longer trusts.
Wow what great story. I can't wait to find out what's gonna happen between the main character and her grandmother And the coven. And will there be a different tiki bar in the future??
Good mystery with twists and surprises. Someone is turning witches into ghouls. Is Hali the target? No cliffhanger and happy for now. Can't wait for the next book. Great series
Wow. Things are certainly in an uproar. Hali and Gray are up against a lot of weird dynamics. Ppl we trust sometimes shouldn't be trusted. Great read. Can't wait for the next episode. .
Hali learns there is a deeper issue than Heater with the coven when a young witch shows up dead. Her proximity to Hali’s condo leaves her and Gray with questions. Can they ask the right one’s quick enough? If they don’t they may be overrun by an undead army.
This just might be my favorite in this series so far. You know how a series grows more complex with each additional book. This one goes into family matters, as well as very convoluted generational lies, future plans, and so much more.
Book 11 finds our c I uple inundated with.....are they zombies or ghouls? There is danger, murders, mystery, loads of angst, and a ton of magic. Highly entertaining.
I really enjoyed this story! It was filled with Zombies or ghouls, love and friendship, hate and jealousy, and a good team working together to overcome evil.
Totally enjoyed it! This is a well written and has well developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
Ghoul Summer is another great read. I love this series. Lily Harper Hart novels are automatically on my TBR list. If you haven't read these books you are missing out.
Very interesting I knew one of the bad guys were in the coven. I feel bad that grandma took a walk on the wild side. The next book should tie up some of the loop holes
I finding that lily harper harts books are getting predictable that stories seem to follow the same path in each series not much difference in the plots
Well, that was an unexpected development. I can’t wait to start the next book in the series. It’s one of my favourite series for a reason. 5 stars for a good story with charming characters.
