Yara Ellis is a medical student hiding in a human university while she studies to become a doctor. Unlike most doctors, Yara is majoring in both human medicine and veterinary medicine while minoring in zoology. Since the packs are constantly at war, she knows that there are never enough doctors to help injured pack members. She’s been on her own for several years, escaping from her previous pack and making her own way in the world, hoping to one day return to her roots and become the premier doctor of the packs.
Warren Hill is an Alpha, caught up in the constant wars that abound between the packs and the never-ending battles. He’s a young Alpha, strong and powerful, but because of the constant fighting between the packs, he’s never been able to find his mate.
One day, when Yara is out letting her wolf run, she comes across Alpha Warren, who is caught in a bear trap. She’s heard of this, packs leaving traps so that members of other packs get caught and either die a slow death or are easily killed.
Warren is in his wolf form, unable to shift without ripping his leg off. Yara carefully springs the trap, releasing him from his metal prison. However, Warren recognizes her as his mate, and when his pack arrives, he’s unwilling to leave her behind.
Yara doesn’t want to return to Warren’s pack but is unable to fight against the Alpha. When she hears that the one who desperately wants her, the one she ran to get away from, is now Alpha of his pack, she realizes that the safest place for her might be with Alpha Warren, even if he is her mate and even if he is unwilling to ever let her go.

First read this book on one of the apps that you unlock chapter by chapter and I have already reread it twice I loved it so much! Andddddd now I have the paperback to add to my trophy bookshelf thanks to author Coopers giveaway in her FB group!!
I fell in love with the main characters early - how can you not with a strong female lead, a cocky (but well meaning alpha) and hilarious interactions between the two!?! They may argue or push each others buttons on occasion but as always: friction creates fire 😉
Between Yara’s endearing muttering, Warren’s touch her and die vibes plus an action packed plot!?!? I couldn’t put it down!!!
I’m already counting down the days until I can get the second book in the series in paperback… I am a greedy reader when it comes to all of Cooper’s books and proud of it!
This book was quite a surprise package. A dear friend recommend this book. I absolutely loved the multitude of characters and the multiple POVs were an added bonus. Loved the relationship between Yarra and Warren. I look forward to reading more by this talented author
I was very intersted in this book bcs I ak sucker for werewolf books. This book kept very interested till like 65% of the book and then it got repetitive. What I liked about this book is that there was no misunterstanding, MMc loved and cherised the FMC from the moment they met. There was nice banter between them. I liked multiple povs, but what was cringy was that everyone found their mates, it was just too much happiness for me🤣 I know it is weird (myabe bcs I switched to dark romance) but for me it was too sweet😀 anyway I enjoyed the book and once the second one arrives on amazon I will read it.
If you are older than a teenager and your idea of love isn't repetitive declarations about how your partner is sexy followed by hours and hours and hours of "love-making" (🤮) at the most inappropriate times, then, for the sake of your own sanity, do not start reading this book.
I don't DNF books normally. Which is one of the reasons I kept going with this one. The other being hate-reading to see how much worse it could get (spoiler alert: it never failed to surprise on that front).
I have also never disliked a book enough to leave a negative review (as I think that even books I don't enjoy are written by someone who still put a lot of work into them and they don't deserve harsh words; and because I'm sure the books I don't like are still enjoyed by others since, of course, art is subjective). But I have to make an exception.
SPOILERS AHEAD.
This book doesn't start off badly. The main character, Yara, is in residency (but it starts off by mentioning she is a medical student which is not the same thing lol) and finds her mate in need of medical help. And despite the medical talk being all wrong (even if you take into consideration these are werewolves we're talking about, it still makes no sense), I could look past that, assuming that the author just hasn't researched the topic well enough.
She portrays Yara as a headstrong woman, who has lived her life in hiding out of fear of her old alpha's son and his weird obsession with her. So, you'd expect that this person wouldn't easily trust someone she just met. It definitely starts like that, but two days later the two main characters are in love lol.
I repeat.
TWO. DAYS.
And don't get me started on the kind of love portrayed. It's all about telling everyone that would listen how perfect they are, and f*cking. Lots and lots of f*cking (and I'm saying this as someone who loves some well-written spice).
There is war going on? They f*ck for hours, before and after war, especially when they just said they're exhausted (because that's what mates do, duh). There are guests in the house waiting for them and they're already late (because they f*cked for hours the previous night)? They wake up early to f*ck (seriously, do these people ever sleep?) You have finally captured the guy who was obsessed with you and try to rape you? To show him how little he hurt you, you submit to your alpha mate in front of him (whatever that means), tell him that the said alpha mate feels so good inside you (🤮) and then, you guessed it, you go home to f*ck some more. And everyone member of your pack is so happy to see that you are happy and f*cking.
Oh, and let's not forget the loud declarations in the middle of a crowd about how your alpha mate has to work hard later to put a pup in you because that's all you want in life. To be pregnant continuously (and of course, one of the reasons for this is because you f*ck even more when your belly is full of fetuses). I'm not even joking. There was literally a moment when Yara says she loves how much Warren wants to f*ck her when she's growing a pup in her belly, especially when that pup is a girl.
I can't even. I don't think I've ever been more disgusted while I read anything before.
And the cherry on cake? (because as I said, every time I thought this book couldn't get worse, it did) The ending. Which is also a sort of prologue for the next book in the series.
Basically, if you still weren't deterred by what I said till now and would like to go on and read this, think of the fact that she ends the book by hinting that a 19 year old and a 6 year old will be mates. And that'd be fine if the interaction was innocent enough.
Instead, she write about how the 19 year old thinks that the 6 year old smells delicious and tells her that she is prettier than her mother.
Yep, you read that correctly.
That's it, I'm done.

Let me start by saying I’m a huge werewolf fan—and an even bigger fan of Cooper’s work. 🐺💖
I really enjoyed this story! The premise grabbed my attention right away, and once I started reading, I was completely hooked. I’m so glad I decided to pick this one up.
As I followed Yara and Waren, the pack, and the rising tensions of the war, I realized the plot was just as strong as the blurb promised. It’s full of drama, intrigue, and a dash of fate. ✨📖
Yara’s character is fantastic—I adore her! And Waren is an equally great mate, alpha, and friend. Their chemistry is absolute perfection; clearly the moon goddess knew exactly what she was doing.
Speaking of the moon goddess, I loved all the other pairings she brought together. I’m thrilled that my favorite characters (and more!) got their HEA or HFN. Now I’m seriously excited to see what book two has in store! 🥰📚
I truly enjoyed this story. I was hooked from the first chapter. The story line flowed well. Characters were strong. It was a little predictable but overall a good read. One thing I struggle with when it comes to reading is getting past grammatical errors (I know I make errors too) and character changes. In one chapter a character name and their wolf’s was C and K, then one or two chapters later it changed to C and D. These didn’t take away from the story, just something that sticks out to me.
I like the idea of a doctor being the critical component of a pack's strength. They emphasized how her kindness and care was a strength that was needed. It's also interesting to entertain the idea of how a doctor would work with a werewolf's healing capabilities. That being said there was ALOT of smut that I skipped over (I don't read sex scenes for personal reasons). There are also descriptions of rape, stalking, and torture for those that are squeamish. I really liked the last chapter, but there were lots of grammatical errors in my Kindle read that made the journey a little harder.
This book definitely is better than the previous book. It wasn’t so drawn out and the characters took on a more believable aspect . Yara never fails. I’m happy Quirim had the influences Henry and Farrah and that Luna Dr Yara made such an indelible impact on him. I do hope he will Be able to cherish the gift of Kennedy when she becomes his fated mate . I thought I wouldn’t be interested in book four but now I’m actually forward to it .
The worldbuilding wasn't great, or fully thought out, but the couples were cute.
That 2nd epilogue gave me the BIGGEST ick. I know it was probably only meant to alude to the possibility of a match between Kennedy and Quirin in the sequel but there's no place for romance when talking about a 6 year old. I guess it could've been cute had they both been kids, but he's 19 and the leader of his own pack. Did she even finish kindergarten yet? Bleh
This is one of my favorite books. If you want a romance where the ideal is realized on both sides of a pairing & the bad guys get what is coming to them, then this book is for you. The snarky wit had me laughing throughout the book, the romance and compassion between characters was touching and brought me close to tears. A great read and re-read.
Read this book on a free app going chapter by chapter (that parts annoying). I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the series that follows. Yara is a bright women that is fleeing her past while trying to follow her dreams of being a doctor. Warren is the alpha of his pack and constantly has to make tough choices. The chemistry between them is beautiful as they navigate their lives and merging to be "mates."
I took a chance, from watching a Facebook short, I'm so glad I did!!! I am now eagerly awaiting book 2. The story captivated me from the very start. It has great flow and a wonderful storyline. So much happens and not just with the main characters. Its like getting several stories all in one.
That is an amazing story. Main character is what we live in any story a Doctor not any Doc is a future Luna who is gifted and changes life for better anywhere she comes. The healing comes with her. Also comes love and great passion. I had wonderful time with this story.
Oh, I love this book. The different struggles that the characters face. It was so enthralling. I read this in a day, I couldn't put the book down. The main characters just keep you so invested. You are routing for thing's to work well for them each time. I like that no one is do instead, it's all about supporting each other. Looking forward to the next book.
What a fun serial surprise! I didn’t expect the story to be this exciting or to keep going for multiple parts. Yara mumbling while treating creatures with ultrasonic hearing is just hilarious. The supporting characters make everything even better. And that scene where she’s mumbling while reviving the Beta? Still stuck in my head 😄
Loved this story. The number of times my eyes teared up and my heart was full for these characters. I felt like I was a part of the wolf pack. I will definitely be reading the other characters' stories.
A fun fast read I love the banter between the couples. lots of spicy scenes. I mean it is a werewolf novel which they always seem to have, but the story is great. Looking forward to reading the second book.
I gave this book 5 stars because I love how yara and warren are together, she made me laugh with her mumbles . They are the perfect pair and I can't wait for the next book to come to Amazon so I can buy and read it...
I'm so surprised at how much I loved this book! Yara and Warren are perfect 😍 and all the side characters finding mates? Amazing 😍 Quinns epilogue was quite weird but I'm guessing his sorry will continue as he turns 30? I sure as hell hope 💀😂
Really love this book. Can’t wait for the next one. Started to read it on FB almost got my bank acct gone with the system they have search for it here and so happy I found it !!!
I loved everything about this book. I was very surprised to find this on Amazon to purchase when I had found the preview on Facebook and I am so glad it was available. Cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
I absolutely adore this book and often come back to it as one of my favorites. The characters, the plot ugh I just love it all. If you love a classic shifter book where they have a HEA this ones for you. Can be read as stand alone or with the second book following.
This book is fantastic!!!! Does have explicit sexual context but the story is really well told. I have read it a couple times and am waiting for the next one in the series to come out. Full of adventures about werewolves and the packs
I have bee n a fan of Cooper's books for awhile. I enjoy her character development and the stories.on general. I am thrilled that I can now buy them on Amazon.
