You're Mine Now

Rate this book
He’s out of prison.

The boy who made my life hell is now a man—all hard lines and sharp edges. He catches me staring—again. Just like in high school, when he tormented me, slipping dark notes into my locker. Making me afraid. Making me secretly long for him.

And now, he’s here. At my gym. Larger than life.

"You're coming to my place. Tonight," he says, leaving me with no choice. No way out.

I go—determined not to let him see the power he still has over me. I’m not a scared little girl anymore.

But this time, he’s more demanding. More dominant. More in control than ever.

And he won’t stop until I’m his.

A fast-paced, high-heat read—eight chapters long and straight into the action. No slow burns, no fade to black. And luckily… there’s more to come. Buckle up. It’s going to be a wild ride.

An absolutely obsessed Adrian in wait for nine years for Scarlett, even after, especially after five years in prison. He struck equal parts fear and desire in the woman he craved. This was a riveting and hot short story that definitely could be more. Adrian was dominating and expressive, larger than life. You could feel his determination and her confused, accepting submission. Aptly named. Entertaining, spicy read with depth.

“What a good girl you are.”

River Noir showed up on my FYP page and boy am I glad. Like the Title I am obsessed with this! Literally lapped this up like there was no tomorrow.

It's the first in a series of Dark Romance novellas and I was hooked
from the first few pages. I love an obsessive MMC and Adrian did not disappoint one little bit. Scarlet was great too, you can see her visibly struggle with her emotions battling with what a rational mind demands versus her body's desires and how she feels at how her body reacts experiencing those new dynamics and power plays. River throws you off a cliff which builds the plot for the next in the series and I can't wait to see where this goes. Like seriously I wish the full series was available on KU now so I can gobble it up.

*Side note Scarlet's gran Ginger is a hoot

'Your Mine Now' Obsession by River Noir
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a little dynamite that exploded and left me hanging!!!

What a fast-paced little spicy dark novella 🥵

Please check your triggers!!!!

Adrian develops an unhealthy obsession with Scarlett in high school, which grows into a scary intrusive part of her life. But is she scared of him or her own dark desires???? Only time will tell, and years later, bumping into him again dredges up feelings and past experiences.... Will she succumb to Adrian's fantasies???

This literally had me in a chokehold and gasping for air at the end! I can't wait for the next novella 💯

A quick read that caught me completely off guard. This is a dark book so make sure you check trigger and content warnings. The FMC finally seems to have her life back. The MMC just got to start living his life again. Paths from the past cross again in the present, but what does that mean for the future?

This book hooked me and I read it in one sitting. When I got to the end, I was looking for the next page. So yes there is a cliffhanger. There is spice in one place, but it is on point. This has the potential to be spicer and dark as the series continues. I cannot wait for the next book.

Overall 4.5 stars, 5 smiles, 2 peppers, 3 black hearts.

This book was okay in my opinion. It didn't really have the spark that I look for when I'm reading something. From my perspective it's really just a rewrite of your basic obsessive male MC.

Scarlett (h) thought she had escaped him. Adrian (H) was her high school tormentor—the boy who made her life hell with his relentless obsession, disturbing letters, and twisted promises. When he disappeared, she thought it was over. But years later, he’s back, out of prison, stronger, more dangerous, and just as fixated on her as ever. One chance encounter at the gym is all it takes for him to sink his claws back in. He tells her they have unfinished business. That she’ll see him again—whether she wants to or not. Scarlett knows she should run. But there’s something about Adrian that keeps pulling her back, a force she doesn’t understand and doesn’t want to name. As much as she fights, he’s always one step ahead, always in control. She goes to him, ostensibly to put an end to things. But he isn’t letting her go, and with the door locked and no escape, Scarlett is at his mercy. Adrian strips away her resistance piece by piece, forcing Scarlett to respond even when she doesn’t want to, making her body betray her. Adrian forces her to submit, not just physically, but mentally, breaking through every last shred of resistance, leaving Scarlett with the realization that she doesn’t know if she wants to escape. Ultra-hot and steamy, dark, intense romantic erotica, exploring themes of power, control, and the fine line between fear and desire. An intense introduction to Adrian and Scarlett's relationship in this first book of the Obsession series. That's some advice from Gran.

I don't usually read novellas but this was such an easy read. Adrian is obsessed with Scarlett. Fast paced and full of drama. Ending on a cliffhanger left me bereft and wanting more. Soon to start book two, only wish they were proper novels as not really wanting to read lots of small books, but the story is keeping me invested. Lots of spice, well written novella.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This gripping story dives headfirst into the psychological and emotional tug-of-war between fear and forbidden longing. A dark, intoxicating descent into desire and domination. From the moment Scarlet first locked eyes with Adrian across the high school football field, a primal dread took root but one laced with something far more dangerous than simply fear: attraction. Scarlet has always been conflicted about Adrian. Her unease around him was never just terror, it was tangled with a magnetic pull she couldn’t fully explain or resist. When he vanishes from her life, she feels both liberated and hollow. But Adrian hasn’t forgotten her. Not for a second. Years later, he returns, more obsessive, more powerful, and entirely unwilling to let her go. No matter how fiercely she resists, Adrian is always one step ahead, orchestrating their every encounter. When Scarlet tries to end things once and for all, she finds herself trapped—physically and emotionally—at the mercy of a man who knows exactly how to break her down. He peels away her defenses with chilling precision, making her body respond in ways her mind refuses to accept. Submission becomes inevitable, not just of the flesh, but of the will. Adrian’s dominance is absolute. And yet, beneath his brutal control, there are glimmers of tenderness, flashes of something real. It's this duality that makes him so compelling and terrifying all at once. My only frustration lies with Scarlet herself. Despite her inner turmoil, she rarely truly pushes back. Her passivity, especially in the face of Adrian’s unrelenting pursuit, made me long for more defiance, more fight. A sharper edge to her resistance could have heightened the intensity of their dynamic. Still, that’s a small critique in an otherwise electrifying narrative. Adrian is a force of nature, and his presence on the page is impossible to ignore. I’m hooked, and eager to see if Scarlet will rise from the ashes of his control or if she’ll lose herself in the fire.

FELT LIKE FREEDOM LIKE COMING HOME

They knew each other in high school. He was obsessed then. He wrote her letters. During college he wrote her letters. Years later after no more letters and shes let go she she sees him. He sees her and the obsession starts all over. Never ending for him but reopening for her. She only went to his place to make sure he knew there was nothing between them and to leave her alone. I know you're thinking she could have screamed and just run but did she really want to. He was brutal. She was confused. Her feelings chaotic and all over the place. Now at home her feelings were on her canvas. Him waking alone. His thoughts were chaotic. Then recieving a call. What kind of business was he in? Whats happening? Well my gosh we have to wait for the next book. I know I cant wait.

Dont hate me for liking this book its meant as an escape from reality. A place to get lost in. Entertainment and and deep dark fantasies. It has a back story and a future story. Indulge and enjoy.

Quick and to the point. That is exactly what this book was. I gave it two stars because I am not into the kink that is described in this book. It was borderline (for me, personally) a turn off. If the term high school was not used as much as it was or me constantly being reminded of them at a younger age wasn't a thing then maybe i'd give it 3 stars because I know this is right up someones alley and it was well written!

The writing and pacing was fine. It was well written for this type of short read. We aren't looking for Pulitzer Prize winning prose and this is a debut for the author so I think she did a great job. The spice was spicing but I prefer it to be a little more less dark in the possessive aspect. I do love the note at the beginning, for the reader, because yes… the main trope of this is something people do have conflicting feelings about because why would it be "a turn on". So, I love that she wrote a little about it in the preface and made sure to say that books are safe spaces. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

A quite good intro to the story. Steamy in most of the pages. But lack of background in characters. Who are they? Why did goes from star athlete to five years prison time? Why does she seems to have no backbone, not even a fight when he come and demand things from her. Nothing sexy about her meekness.
For me this lack of background makes steamy scenes just words. And the bully part? I won't say bullying. It was straight up sexual crime. Maybe only in written obsession, but those "love letters" plant the seed.

Four star because I hope she grow stronger back bone, to make the noncon more believable. and perhaps the author don't have enough pages for thorough story and background in this little intro, hope to see more in the big book. For him, keep up the good work! Lol.

I'm not usually used to short books (under 100 pages), but I have no regrets—I really enjoyed this one. The only reason I'm not giving it a full 5 stars is that this novella is much more focused on the spicy scenes than on the story itself—don’t get me wrong, they are great🔥.

The characters are very likeable and I quickly grew attached to them. But I still have questions. A lot of questions—about the past, because the characters’ backgrounds seem to have a lot of potential that just didn’t have enough space to be developed—and also about the future, because that ending, like WHAT? I need to know more.

Overall, even though it’s short, this book is a very enjoyable read and a great way to spice up your evening, because Adrian can be very intense—and if you like morally grey characters, he’s definitely worth getting to know.

Well, hello, Darkness, Spice, Obsession, and Mystery! I was NOT expecting to find all of you here in one place. You're Mine Now checks a lot of boxes while leaving more than a few questions unanswered.

Adrian is ripped, tatted, obsessed, demanding, possessive, and maybe a little unhinged -- my kinda book guy! And Scarlett? Girl, we see you looking, and we understand why you can't resist the pull. No one's judging you. We'd follow that man to hell in a handbasket, too, just to find out if he was all he appeared to be. Honestly? I'm pretty sure he is.

You're Mine Now has set the stage for either redemption or ruin, and no matter which way it goes, we all win. Nowhere to Run is the next title on my reading list. I can't wait to see what kind of diabolical threads River Noir has woven together for Adrian and Scarlett. So glad I picked this one up!

A Fast-Paced, Gripping Read!

I inhaled River Noir in just 15 minutes—it’s that good. The writing is sharp, the atmosphere immersive, and the tension keeps you flipping pages at lightning speed. The story pulls you in right from the start, and the pacing never lets up. My only reason for giving four stars instead of five is that I wish it had been longer—I didn’t want it to end! If you love quick, intense reads that keep you on the edge of your seat, this one’s definitely worth picking up. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

This is the first part of a series and each one is a short length. The MMC is very intense and methodical in everything he does. The FMC is conflicted between what she thinks she should want and what it seems her body is responding to. Her grandmother is a spitfire and recommends Scarlett take steps towards the darker and more fun side when it comes to sexual encounters. Adrian brings those qualities in spades. He’s known what and who he’s wanted since high school and is coming for it all.

Please check the trigger warnings before reading this book.
It may only be 7 chapters but River packs a lot in them.
How can someone turn from your bully and almost a stalker - into someone that you dream about.
When Adrian shows back up Scarlett doesn't know what to do.
He is determined she will be his & only his. And she is terrified yet attracted to him all at the same time.
It definitely leaves you wanting more.. I need more!!! Give me more!!!

First of all, EVERYBODY needs a Gramma like Scarletts! This woman is a riot! Scarlett likes to blend in, not be seen. Adrian, oh my goodness Adrian. He's a man who knows what he wants and gets it! Plain and simple, he wants Scarlett but he isn't above playing games with her before he moves in for the k*^l so to speak. You're Mine Now is a HOT, consuming, short read that pulls you in quickly and has you feeling the steam rise from the pages to the very end. What a great intro to this new to me author! I can't wait to see what's next for these two.

You're Mine Now by River Noir
Scarlett was starting to date Ryan and working on herself, but at the gym, she saw her bully from high school. She tried to hide, but he saw her. He talked her into coming to his place that night to work out. This story is very steamy, but there are some triggers in it. I found myself feeling sorry for Scarlett, but she needed to get a backbone and stand up for herself. I could not put this book down; it is a page-turner, and I couldn't wait for the next book. Tropes/Kinks: stalking, ex-con, mf, oral, anal play, pain kink, CNC/NC, praise kink, degradation, dom/sub

Thoughts:

I wish this switched back and forth with the POV, instead of only having the final chapter be from the MMC view. I don’t understand why the FMC was so terrified of the MMC. I get that his letters went a bit too far, but she didn’t really do anything to stop them either.

While I love how obsessed the MMC is, he is a bit cold for my liking. Hoping this changes a bit in the second, but I doubt it.

Horribly disgusting...

This is not erotica, it's just glorified rape. I'm not sure where the author gets her information but I don't think that most women want to be assaulted and abuse like this. The triggers warnings don't even make a dent in how stupid this book is. Just because a book is short doesn't mean it has to be so ridiculously unrealistic. The MFC was too stupid to live and the MMC was cruel and sadistic. Do not waste your time not only is it pornographic trash it's just plain stupid.

This short novella tells you everything you need to know in the title—Obsession. Adrian’s years long obsession with Scarlett is more terrifying than exhilarating to her, but she has her own secret desires, ones Adrian could fulfill if she gave in. And that scares her even more. This cat and mouse game will only end one way and. Just be careful what you wish for when picking this up. This story is not for the faint of heart. PLEASE read the trigger warnings.

I read this at the start of a girls trip and it put me in the mood the whole time we were gone. There’s something about being in a new country, it feels exciting. Add in all the cat calling and I was in heaven! This book is a short novella and is easy to digest. Gets to the point quickly and leaves me longing for book 2. This will not be my only read by this author!! Dubcon isn’t for everyone, but those that get it, get it!!

I read this knowing it was a bit smutty , it was ok but it kind of reminded me of a rape scene at times, as she obviously didn't want it from him at first , and was forced to do so much . I wasn't so sure at first , but it was written well . not sure I will read more like this , unless I'm in that mood . but it wasn't really bad as eventually she actually liked it and wanted more . But i never liked the forcefulness of Adrian . end of

You're Mine Now is a dark, obsessive, and deliciously addictive. River Noir takes the possessive romance trope and turns it into a fast-paced, high-heat ride that keeps you hooked from the start. The chemistry is magnetic, the tension never lets up, and the obsession feels both dangerous and irresistible.
A quick, spicy read that proves sometimes the darkest love stories are the hardest to put down.

Holy shiznit. The spice is off the charts. The best erotica I’ve read in a really really long time. A quick read and so so so electric! The descriptions! The spice! The characters! I can’t get enough. I cannot WAIT for the second to come out. I need more immediately! I wasn’t expecting any plot, like a usual erotica/novella, but the plot of this… I can already tell I’m OBSESSED. Aiden 🔥🔥🔥

Scarletts high school years were spent being tormented by Adrian's obsession, and then he goes to prison, but nows hes out and has his sights set on her once more, but does she have a choice in submitting to him? Well written steamy obsessive, short read, but still gives you the indepth plot of the story and developing characters, and has you hooked and craving more! Can't wait for bk2!

This was a quick read and overall it was an enjoyable read but I have to say for me it wasn’t anything outside of the usual smutty read with an obsessed MC. That said I still think that anyone who decides to pick this up won’t be disappointed if they enjoy that trope.

It’s fast paced, intense and dark, with a twist at the end that makes you want to read book two.
The spice is amazing and the characters are interesting, drawing you in from the first chapter 🖤🖤🖤
