MY DRUM PROGRAMMING BADNESS JOURNAL : ONE SONG WORKBOOK
(Kindle Scribe Only)
Have you been neglecting the musical genius inside you?
Do you want to unleash your inner Beethoven and SCRIBE a great song ?

If you answered YES, then this “One Song Workbook” from RFB can be useful. It has pages for lyrics, drum rhythms, song parts, and artistic sketches. And best of all, it requires no additional software, MIDI, or DAW. Just
scribe away !

This Kindle Scribe workbook is useful for songwriters who :

Want their lyrics, sketches, tablature, music staffing (staves), and drum programming in a convenient
e-journalWant to capture their drum programming on step grid tablatureWant to easily capture a songwriting session with othersWant their drum programming sound/setup notes adjacent the step tablature gridsWant to quickly document rhythms entered onto the tiny display (LCD) of a vintage drum
machineWant to use simple online apps or non-MIDI tools for songwriting and drum
programmingDon't want to use a MIDI piano roll editorDon't want to tackle the learning curve of a state-of-the-art DAW or the numerous
preference settings/parametersInside this workbook/journal, you'll find dedicated sections for :SketchesLyricsSong Structure DraftsProgramming Tool NotesRecording Session NotesPoetry Practice
Throughout the workbook you'll also find assorted drum machine art. So scribble on the pictures if you like
when you get writer's-block !The latter half of the workbook is parsed into sections for all major song parts :

VerseChorusPre-ChorusBridgeBreakIntroEnd/Finale
Each section offers blank music staffing (staves), guitar tablature, and step grid
tablature for drum programming. 4/4 time drum step grids feature 12, 16, 32, and 48 steps per measure. Note that grid multiples of 12 (e.g. 12, 24, 48, etc.) are required for so-called triplets.

If you need faster drumming, the step quantity per measure (i.e. quantization) can be
multiplied by 2 by double-marking the step grids. In other words, you might double-scribe a 48 step
grid for a supersonic 1/96th note hi-hat rhythm in a Trap or Electronic Pop song.

For additional drum programming insights, see RFB's other books at Amazon : "Supersonic Hi-hat Rhythms and Tuplets" and “DRUM PROGRAMMING : A Complete Guide To Program And Think Like A
Drummer”
. For over 30 years, the core teachings in the latter book have helped novice electronic musicians learn to
program more realistic sounding drums. A new and improved 2nd edition is now
available at Amazon in reflowable eBook format. If you are a Kindle Unlimited member it is FREE !

And for advanced step programming, ADDENDUM 1 offers simplifying insights into Blues
Shuffles, Reggae, and Fast Punk.
