'Winx Club: Fairy Insider' is a girls' (ages 8-11) quiz-type magazine, in Scholastic book form, that is fairly(fairy) typical of its kind from the early-to-mid 2000s. Very girly and heteronormative.
Although...
It is colourful, fun, and nice for what it is. I sure would have eaten it up way back when. I especially like the horoscope parts, the birthstone and charms parts, and the little facts about each of the Winx girls. There are useful health and beauty tips, too.
This magazine print at least attempts to tell a sort-of story, about Bloom writing and figuring out who she is, and her Winx Club friends help her along the way. I presume this takes place in early season one of the cartoon.
As well as Bloom, Techna might be my favourite character here. She really is very funny. Apparently she dreams of electronic sheep... wow, I did not expect such a clever reference in this of all things. And oh, how she talks about emoticons/symbols in text - to go back to an age before emojis were invented!
The witch trio, Icy, Stormy and Darcy, interrupt at one point. Very amusing, and surprisingly dark and edgy. I admire it. We need more of the Trix. Why do witches have to be the villains in this universe, seriously?! It's not exactly teaching tolerance and compassion towards fellow living beings, is it?!
Nonetheless, 'Fairy Insider' shall be a part of my nostalgic 'Winx Club' book memorabilia. It's got info, and humour, and it's a cute time capsule.

I liked this magazine-type Winx Club book because it has tons of quizzes and slams book-type pages.
