The Comanche Bride

Rate this book
Born between two worlds, Tala Sky has always struggled to find where she truly belongs. As a half-Comanche healer, she has earned her place among her mother’s people, yet whispers of doubt follow her wherever she goes. When a wounded cavalry officer is dragged into her camp, she is ordered to heal him—despite knowing the danger he brings. But as she tends to his wounds, the line between duty and something far more dangerous begins to blur, forcing her to question everything she has ever known.

Harrison Grant never expected to wake up in the hands of the enemy, nor did he expect the woman who saved him to be unlike any other he had ever met. As he recovers under Tala’s care, he begins to see beyond the conflict that divides their people. But when his regiment comes searching for him, duty calls him back to the world he left behind. Torn between love and loyalty, Tala makes an impossible choice—to follow him into an unfamiliar land where she is unwelcome, or to turn away and lose him forever.

In a land where peace is fragile and love is even more so, Tala and Harrison must fight for more than just survival—they must fight for each other. But as tensions rise and war looms on the horizon, their love is tested in ways neither could have foreseen. Can they carve out a place of their own, or will the forces of history tear them apart?

For the eventual Goodreads Giveaway winners: this is an AI-generated book. You deserve to know that up front. The author has admitted that his books are all AI-generated, in a Goodreads "ask the author" answer that is now buried in his profile where no one will see it, and in an associated Facebook post that was mostly ignored because it wasn't tagged #FreeBooks. It's good that he admitted it, not that it's hard to tell if you're paying the least attention, but to me unless the official book description includes "AI-generated" and this is noted in the front of the book also, it's still essentially a lie. When you decide to read a novel, you expect that it was actually written by the author, don't you? And if it says, "This book was made using generative AI," you're less likely to read it, aren't you?

So by all means give this book a try, whether you're a giveaway winner or free book downloader or whatever, if you understand beforehand that it's AI-generated. This person puts out 3 books a week, every week, going for over a year now. If you think that's good enough effort, have at it.

Is it a good AI-generated book at least? In the realm of AI books, sure, it's better than most. That just means the prompt typer has taken pains to eliminate more of the problematic gen-AI writing ticks than most, so the AI generation is not as immediately obvious. But if you're a critical reader at all, you'll likely note strange deficiencies. Like, out of the few Amazon reviews on this book, half of which are themselves AI-generated, the one to believe is this:
The medicine woman suddenly bcame[sic] a man then magically reverted back to a woman. These types of blunders makes for very hard reading for me.
So much repetition in descriptions. Do warriors do nothing other than sharpen weapons?!?!??
That's some of the failure of AI writing to be aware of. Or maybe you'll take issue with how the characters speak like uneducated hicks at first ("Ain't, ain't, ain't") but not later, that kind of thing that speaks to the actual level of care put into publishing AI books, every one of them slop.

love Tala

She is very wise, empathetic and loving. Love sneaks up on them. She feels like she does not fit in, but i think we all might feel that way at times, esoecially in a new situation. However it is her life, that she was given. She shows strength. Interesting insight to the Indian way of life. Very good reading.
