I thought I was going to have to see a man about his plan. The author told us the husband was awful, and she was correct. Stay with it. The second chance part was over there and all around goodness. I can't wait to see the other sisters shine.4.75 stars.....

This was such a bomb ass read...

Okay miss Aubrey Penn or should I say Cassandra b or should I say Doctor Jekyll Missus Hyde.... I'll call you whatever you wanna be called because you always deliver never fails. Now I love a good small town romance and this was everything. The Pearce sisters were no joke, I just know I'm gonna love Kimber and kiala story just as much as I like Katrina and Ja'sir story. Ja'sir Is my man my man my man my man my man.... I would literally let that man turn me every which way but loose. He was so smooth with it literally it was just chemistry rolling off the pages..... I don't even want to talk about that b**** of a side chick and katrina funky a** ex, Just know karma is a b**** and it b**** slapped the f*** out of both of them. I also love the children in this book they have some witty comebacks and And this is coming from a person who normally doesn't do children in books but I like these children the girls were the right kind of nosy and I loved Orion as well, Such a sweet kid. Katrina might have been stuck in this lover's single mom relationship with her husband but when I tell you She could still read a heffa to filth...literally made my day... I loved the interaction between both families and even knowing that Ja'sir mom basically foresaw all of this was beautiful... The flow of this story for me was perfect and I could ask for Nothing else. If you ain't read this book please do so immediately, Cousin my girl just gave us Christmas in February.

This book in the beginning really had me bout to cry. Like she was putting up with so much and in her heart she knew what needed to be done. Nate needed to be sent to the pits of hell and got everything he deserved him and that wench. She had all the nerve and audacity. Then tried to sell back jewel’s that weren’t paid for. Lost that man she thought was such a prize. What cheered me tf up was her putting everybody that needed it in their place without lifting a finger. Kitty is a bad bitch ok!!!! Stood on big business and had the support system to do it. Ja’Sir came in and showed her what that love is supposed to look like and how he never should have let her run. They loved on them kids like nobody’s business. The kids was knowing and they knew their parents needed this and them. I looooooved this book and the bounce back. As always APXCB does it every👏🏽single👏🏽time👏🏽

Real Love

Ja’Sir what a man, what a man, what a mighty good mannnn… lol I loved this story from beginning to end. Ja’Sir coming home was the perfect timing for him to get his one true love back. Katrina deserved all the good love that he had to offer and then some. I loved the fact that they both were excellent parents and step parents. I can’t wait for book 2

In defense of her own happiness

Cassandra B delivers a heartfelt and empowering holiday romance in Twice Upon a Christmas, a story that beautifully blends second chances, self-discovery, and the warmth of found family.

Katrina Pearce is the embodiment of strength—an exceptional mother, a powerhouse in her career, and a devoted wife. But love, when unbalanced, can be a painful burden, and Katrina's devotion to her husband isn't reciprocated in kind. Facing the heartbreak of betrayal, she refuses to let it break her spirit. Instead, she does the hardest thing a woman in love can do—choosing herself.

Enter Ja’Sir Wright, a dedicated father and a highly skilled orthopedic specialist, returning to his hometown after a failed marriage. His only focus is rebuilding his life and strengthening his relationship with his daughter and father. But fate has other plans when he crosses paths with Katrina again, reigniting an undeniable spark from their past. Their reunion is tender yet passionate, filled with the kind of slow-burn chemistry that makes a romance novel impossible to put down.

Katrina’s character growth is one of the strongest elements of the book. Watching her reclaim her happiness, even in the face of fear, was inspiring. Ja’Sir was the perfect complement to her—a man who stepped up, loved without hesitation, and accepted her children as his own. Their blended family dynamic was heartwarming, proving that love isn’t just about romance but also about creating a safe, supportive home.

And then there’s Nate. If there was ever a character deserving of literary wrath, it was him. Infidelity is one thing, but using Katrina’s money to finance his deception? Absolutely not. His downfall was satisfying, and Tinsley getting a taste of karma? That was just the cherry on top.

With a well-paced narrative, beautifully written characters, and the perfect mix of emotional depth and holiday charm, Twice Upon a Christmas is a must-read for those who love stories of resilience and second chances. I’m absolutely looking forward to the rest of the series!

Twice upon a Christmas

Now this is how you spend the block and have a blended family! As soon as Katrina and Ja’sir were back in each others’ orbit, they fell right back into their seamless relationship and embraced each others’ kids like they had given birth to them. I was happy when Katrina finally put her foot down with her ex and chose her happiness over staying with him especially when he was a trash husband and father. I loved the kids in this book. They kept me laughing with their antics and commentary. I also loved the grandparents because they kept it real with their kids and told them what they needed to hear. The bond between Katrina and her sisters is unmatched and I loved that they could talk to each other about anything without judgment while also getting much needed advice and feedback. Lastly, I loved Katrina and Ja’sir together. These two were made for each other. Their love could be felt off the page.

This book kept me smiling and laughing throughout and I can’t wait to read book 2. I’m an AP fan, but there is something special about her books when she writes as CB. She flows from thug love, gas station drug money, and urban romance with a bit of violence as AP to hearts and flowers and feel good love stories as CB and I have not read a story I didn’t enjoy yet.

Well, my 4 star is because of the numerous grammatical errors. They take away, for me, the ability to read the story without having to re-work the meaning of sentence.

I liked and enjoyed the story! I love ❤️ second chance romance stories. Sometimes, you have to wait on your season. Katrina and Ja'Sir's time wasn't supposed to be until they experienced some things in their grown lives. They learned the meanings of true love, commitment, and sacrifices.

Katrina had a trash a** ex. husband who reaped what he sowed. How do you not love your kids and then want to use as bait in a divorce suit? Ja'Sir's ex was no better. A trash a** cheater & user, plus, not wanting anything to do with her daughter.

I love the blended family! The girls hitting it off like lifelong sisters and Orion getting a chance to bond with a man who takes the time with him. He shows him how a man is supposed to treat his wife, kids, and family.

The coming together and recommitment of these two was beautiful. They expressed their expectations for each to make this union work. A wonderful sister bond is what helped and kept Katrina sane. Their mom was hilarious and made no secret about sharing her love with her husband. Speaking of her husband, he was a beast and didn't play about his girls.

Can't wait to read the next installment of this series.

This was so beautiful! I mean the story was so well written I love the character development. I love the fact that it was relatable. The messages throughout this story and constant reminder that “sometimes you got to pop out and show 🥷🏾” remind them that you in fact are the HBIC in case the peasants have forgot, he’ll in case you forget.

I knew it was gonna be a good story when the name section of the book had me in tears. I will say that I cannot wait for the remaining book. I could tell midway through the story that we were going to get more stories out of this family, and I am here for each and every book that comes after this one.

Given the fact that I already love a single parent trope, I had no idea that I would love the married single parent rope even more. This book was healing for myself because I experienced a lot of the trauma that Miss Kit Kat has faced and to see somebody in my generation illustrated through the words of this book finally step into their HEA is important.

I can already tell that I will be reading this book multiple times this year and years to come. If you’re a fan of APXCB, then you already know this book eats!

WHEW!!!!!! This! This one was for the books. I enjoyed this book from start to finish. I’ll admit it had some moments where it was PMTFO but when everything hit the fan, I was okay.

Imagine you’re married and you’re basically single and raising your kids solo. DF! Yeah well that’s Katrina, her husband ain’t shyt and serves no purpose. Katrina was a better woman than me cause she let so much ride until he dropped off the cliff. To see her boss up and down after she caught him in something he shouldn’t have been in, was everything. It was the highlight to start off everything great that came after. The saying, what one man won’t do another man will. Y’all insert BIG DADDY Ja’Sir!!!

What happens when the one that got away and shouldn’t have gotten away is now within your reach again. You apply ALL THE PRESSURE. Y’all Ja’Sir was determined to get his girl back at all cost. And with the help of their kids who are determined to get Ja’Sir and Katrina together. All bets are off. This was a beautiful story with a second chance at love, standing in your greatness, learning to allow love in after years of being unloved and untouched, and being loved whole and completely as you are.

Y’all already know how I feel about BIG PYNNIE! This is a BIG PYNNIE Stan account. 10/10 I can’t wait to get the other 2 sister’s stories.

This was a ride chileeeeee. For a minute there I thought we were going to ride at dawn for Kat lol. I read the triggers and all but I was still floored at how awful the husband was. Not the wife founded double life, like sir BFFR. Katrina Pearce was the embodiment of an amazing woman. She simply was just in the hands of the wrong man.
This book made me want to have a ladies night with a white board present and remind them; to never build a man because when he gets where he wants to be chileeeeee. Ja'Sir Wright and his daughter were so cute in this book. A single father but also an orthopedic specialist.
Sometimes you just have to choose you. Once you choose yourself, the blessings will come pouring in. I enjoyed this read and I can’t wait to read Kiala’s story 😏.

Christmas 2nd chance!

Katrina and Ja’sir are two souls who had their chance at young love ruined. They both went on to remarry people they should've never been with in the first place, and now that those debilitating relationships have ended, they find themselves back in each other's orbit.

I really loved the found family aspect of this book. The way the kids took to themselves and just loved each other from day one was so sweet. Katrina and Ja’sir rekindling that old spark and showing that a true love that's for you will always be for you. Ja’sir was a man! He poured into Katrina and the kids effortlessly, and I loved it.

ALL OF THE FEELS!

This is a story I didn’t know I needed. Never allow a no good to play in your face for too long once you realize they’re no good. People can want what’s best for us all the time however, we have to want it for ourselves and then and only then will a change occur! Ja’Sir!? What a MAN! “Make your request known and I’ll give you what you want”. The way he came back and loved Katrina & her kids DOWN!! Ohhh yes sir!! ALL OF THE FEELS!!!!

I’m a sucker for a second chance romance

All Katrina wanted was to be loved properly and that sorry excuse of a mouth doctor couldn’t even do that right. Thank goodness Ja’Sir came back and went for what was always his. I loved the growth that Katrina exhibited—she went from overwhelmed and unappreciated to relaxed and filled with love. The kids were the cutest and I love how the families blended. Now let’s get to Kiala because Demarion has waited long enough.

Katrina and Ja’Sir

Small town second chance romance 🥰. I don’t usually enjoy second chances, but I really enjoyed their story. Ja’Sir played no games in claiming what was his from the beginning. Nate was always on borrowed time at this point and he got everything he deserved. Blended family that felt authentic and the vibes were always there. Katrina sisters are a mess. I’ll be waiting for the next one.

Ja and Kitty

Oooo Cassandra B has done it! Christmas in February is definitely a time! This is a story about how you don’t count those first marriages lol. Honestly though, this story is about that one true love coming back full circle and having what the Universe has set out for you!

Also, Katrina’s ex and that Tinsley, just sickening!

Liking this Series!

Ok I at first felt some type of way about Katrina but I respect her trying to keep her family together. The fact that she made sure she owned what she did showed she knew deep down her husband wasn’t to be trusted! Jasir came in on a mission and would not be denied! Loved how this story came together with their blended family! Can’t wait for the second book!

So beautiful

I’m a sucker for a second chance romance especially when the wife is able to get her get back. Katrina and Ja’Sir deserved to be loved the right way! Communication and learning to lean on others can really prevent a lot of unnecessary drama. I loved this book

Place holding

Ja’sir and Katrina may have wasted time on other people, but that love was real and strong. I love the whole family dynamics, even the dead momma pushing from the grave. This book can be read again and again. Can’t wait for the next book
