‘A Broken Kingdom novella, a part of the Fox Fire trilogy.’
Five years since the realms were brought together. Three years of peace. The darkness the queen eradicated barely a whisper. But Malikye, General of the Shadows, feels an unease in the bridging kingdoms of Faedom. Malikye, General of her armies. Elijah, the royal guard to the queen, always acquaintances but nothing more until they cross paths on a night of feral desire. Chaos erupts when the Queen’s daughter is kidnapped. Malikye and Elijah rush to find the young princess before her absence is noticed. The clock is ticking, will Malikye and Elijah be able to rescue the princess and avoid the dangers of darkness still lurking within their realm, as something more than just lust blossoms between them.
A Flicker in Shadow, is a feral love story between a ‘too serious’ General and a spontaneous Royal Guard.
I received an Arc copy and am leaving this review voluntarily.
After reading her other books in the series, I was super excited when I heard she was coming out with this book.
she did not disappoint with this one. The spice level is good, and the banter between Elijah and malikye had me chuckling to myself sometimes. This will definitely be one that I read more than once.
Be prepared going into this book!!!! you will need a fan a cool drink no interruptions
holy sexy, shadow men.
sensible stuff first - i went into this without reading the series that comes before it. have I spoiled those books for myself? absolutely. Will I read the series still? absolutely.
the world building, magic, and glimpses of what is in the series has caught my attention 100%, and I need to get caught up.
Now for the fun stuff
THERE IS KNIFE PLAY THERE IS BLOOD PLAY
that shit makes me feral!
and while the spice level is off the charts, those two men made me love them and how.sweet they are with each other.
So steamy! I absolutely loved this Novell. Im a big fan of tge Foxfire trilogy by Shannon Riley and couldn't get enough of the world she created.
With this being set in the same world worked so well as I new all about it. Also the two MMC were in that series so I got an introduction to them there.
To now delve more into their stories and relationship has been so good. MM steamy, hot scenes and the banter is top tier.
You don't need to have read Foxfire Trilogy to enjoy this juicy novella. Absolutely recommend!
This was an awesome quick read. It is a spinoff or sequel to Fox Fire I believe but you don't need to have read that story. I haven't yet. The story follows the General and the Commander as they fall in love while trying to track down the princess after she is kidnapped. It has a great little story line to follow that saw me finishing it in the night. The spice was great and I loved that both the men are quite strong domination characters. It made the love story even better.
Wow! Shannon has done it again! This is the perfect way to end the Fire Fox trilogy! This spicy novella is 5 years after the final book of the trilogy but is an excellent touch to one of my favourite side characters.
was a fine time. listened to it on Spotify audio. because it was a novella it went by pretty quick. made me want to read the actual series to figure out what was really going on in the world. just jumping right into the novella with no knowledge of the terms was a... choice. but a good one because I discovered a new author I might like and a very smutty.. very spice little book. I liked the two characters a lot, honestly I could have enjoyed a full book for them. (did I feel like the spice upon SPICE every couple pages while they're on a very important mission was necessary? no, but did I have fun? YES! a very unserious time but I loved it.
I only read this book because I needed something spicy. I wasn’t here for the plot, but I will say if you are here for the plot, it’s a bit confusing without reading the other books because it felt like I was thrown in the middle of something and I was supposed to already know what was going on.
in the books defense, it is in an interconnected series, but I definitely wouldn’t consider this something you could read as a standalone. it was a bit confusing and a little repetitive at times, but the spice was spicy. I had a great time. Also listen to the AUDIOBOOK!!!
