Green Wing: Resuscitated picks up 12 years after the events of Green Wing, and it's all change at East Hampton Hospital... Guy Secretan (Stephen Mangan) has become a media personality, adding TV appearances and podcasts to his work as an anesthetist; 'Mac' MacCartney (Julian Rhind-Tutt) has returned from several near-death experiences to pick up as a surgeon, and Caroline Todd (Tamsin Greig) has been making waves in America as a medical pioneer. There have been promotions for both Harriet Schulenberg (Olivia Colman) who is now East Hampton's Head of HR, and Boyce (Oliver Chris), who has been made head of radiology. This doesn't mean that Alan Statham (Mark Heap) has left the hospital - while his killing spree with Joanna Clore (Pippa Haywood) lead to her being imprisoned, his lawyers got him off with a spell in psychiatric care, and he has returned to work under Boyce. Not everyone has changed circumstances, though - Sue White (Michelle Gomez) remains as East Hampton's staff liaison officer, and Martin Dear (Karl Theobald) is still not a doctor, despite having been training for the exams since we last saw him…

Joanna plans a breakout to visit Statham. Martin goes undercover for Sue White. Mac, Guy and Caro struggle to work together.
Episode 4: HRT
Tensions between Caro, Mac and Guy reach Harriet’s desk. Sue White pushes Martin further undercover with Harriet. Statham has a dream.
Episode 5: Picasso
Guy feels threatened when his TV show ask about Caroline. Harriet and Martin plan their engagement party. Joanna makes a request to the prison governor, and Mac has that thing men have.
Episode 6: Flamingos
Harriet and Martin’s engagement party goes off the rails as Guy finds out about Caroline and Boyce, and a friend of Joanna’s goes too far in trying to scare Statham.

This isn’t a book, but if it’s on Goodreads then you best believe I’m gonna shelve it 🫡
I CANNOT GET OVER HOW GOOD THIS WAS. I was a huge fan of the TV series at the time it aired and it’s remained one of my firm favourites ever since. I was gutted it ended after only two series as it felt like the writing and cast had so much more to give so I was over the moon to discover it had returned! I was a bit worried how well it would work in an audio-only format as a large part of the comedy from the show was physical comedy but somehow it worked just as well. The scripts and acting were just as excellent as they ever were and this had me grinning like a maniac whilst listening to it out in public! My one and only complaint though was that it didn’t feel nearly long enough!

As a lover of the original series of Green Wing, I was delighted to see this on Audible. Set 12 years after the series ended, it picks up with Caroline returning to the hospital and Joanna being released from prison. With all the same characters from the series, this was a huge hit of nostalgia. Really funny, quirky humour and laugh out loud moments, this is a must listen for any Green Wing fans. As always, the dynamic between Mac and Guy was brilliant!

Fabulous, hilarious - obviously not a book, but a super engaging audio comedy drama with the original cast, set 12 years after the end of the TV show. So so funny, my favourites being Sue White (Michelle Gomez) for sheer ridiculousness and Joanna Claw (Pippa Haywood) for vindictiveness - absolutely brilliant writing

I was a massive fan of the original series, so it was great to see this pop up on audible! Most of the original cast are back with the banter and jibes still flicking around. Totally worth listening to for both old fans and even those who never watched the show.
