An Unlikely Tale #1.5

An Unlikely Valentine's Day: A Bonus Novelette

Rate this book
Magic, misunderstandings, and making up. It's hell leading up to Valentine's day, but Detective Niko Moscato just needs her girlfriend, Head Custos Witch, Rue Lovelace, to hang on a little longer. Rue's at her wits-end with Niko's suspicious behavior. Things are going to get rocky before they get better, but making up is often the best part especially when it's spicy. It's going to be a Valentine's day they'll never forget.

This is a bonus novelette featuring characters and settings from the author's book, An Unlikely Partnership. This novelette can be read as a stand-alone, but to see how they meet and solve two murders and save not only each other but the whole town, check out An Unlikely Partnership by Katie Trapp.

Someone needs to call the fire department because this novelette was so hot, it's on fire.

The lead-up, the second-guessing, and the jumping to conclusions are so Rue and her Rueful self.
Honestly, Niko is the softest werebear and I wouldn't mind following her into a forest any day.

Make sure you grab this novelette if you've read An Unlikely Partnership: A Lesbian Paranormal Mystery (or even if you haven't but it does contain spoilers). It's the spicy companion perfect for a Valentine's Day read.

So in true me style I read this book out of order. This is a bonus 'afterwards' novella. But having now read this I'm invested and intrigued enough to read the main story and adventure that came before it.
I enjoyed the characters and the way the author is able to give enough information about the previous book without exposition dumping.
The spicy scene was well written and gave more about the characters and the emotions than just the physical act.
It was a fun quick read about Rue and Niko as they fail to communicate properly and nearly lose what they have been working so hard to have.

great sequel

I’m sure this could stand alone but it’s better if you read unlikely partners first. Sometimes magic only offers half the answer creating unnecessary chaos. Love this

Great read

Just look where secrecy gets you. Wanting to make something special secretly, can lead to misunderstandings and heartbreak. But not giving up when you know the truth can make things right.

Really love the dynamic between Rue and Niko.

A added bonus between a witch and a Italian bear!

A glance, A couple of late night coming home and Valentine's day! A hurt witch a bashful bear and it is hard to believe she still loves her? Enjoy!
