I read the first installment of this serie and while it was a bit bland, I continued because I wanted to know what would happen to Lucien and Khalyla. Sadly, the second book started on a very boring note and continued on the same note. I never understood why authors feel the need to do the back and forth between the past and present. One chapter of the past and one of the present day. I expected more from this one. It was a huge struggle to finish this book and I resisted the urge to DNF. While reading some parts of it, I had the impression that it was written by different persons, no reviewer and no spell check. This book is Wattapad quality, ended with a stupid cliffhanger just to continue with another installment probably a year from now. Waste of time.
