This is my personal opinion, I read the ARC of this book and I found it well written and easy to follow yes some people may be offended by some words and BDSM which is a running thread through the book.I found the book and characters interact with each other .H and h have a very hot and heavy relationship but it is an entirely consenting relationship. On the spicy rating it was hot. But it also covers different areas like low self-esteem, body image, overwhelming grief and the process of self-healing for the main characters.
If you love a good brother's best friend romance, Delectable Syn definitely delivers! This was a juicy, addictive read with plenty of tension, drama, and chemistry between the characters. The plot kept me hooked from start to finish. What really made this a solid 4-star read for me was the perfectly satisfying ending. It wrapped up everything I wanted, left me with a smile, and tied the story together in such a fulfilling way. If you're looking for something spicy, dramatic, and full of forbidden tension, this one is worth picking up!
Brother’s best friend a trope which will make you read this book. Story of Ava and Blake. Honestly saying it’s a good book which you’ll like reading. I loved Ava’s character. And as for Blake well let’s just say he’s he. There’s time where you’ll want to strangle him but with passing time you’ll coop up with it. And the spice of this book was something. In short I’ve liked this book.
Ava and Blake. ❤️ Brothers best friend 🔥 Ava is a curvy girl and isn't very confident with her body. But Blake helps her blossom. and blossom she does. I love it when a character comes into themself and finds a whole new and confident outlook. and hey some wiling BDSM can really bring you into yourself. this book was spicy as ever. it was hot, sexy, and leaves you wanting more. 😈🖤
It was a great story. Love hurts and secrets make it worse, but if you are open with your spouse it will be worth it. I wouldn’t be with my brother’s best friend buuuttt, obviously Ava had a long standing thing for Blake. This is an emotional roller coaster. It was worth it in the end.
When i say this book is spicy, I mean it. Brothers Best Friend 🔥 Age gap 🔥 Breath play🔥 "Mine"🔥 HEA🥰 And so much more. I couldn't put this down, and you won't be able to either.
Although I loved the start, somewhere around the midway point, I was more annoyed than enthralled. The delectable snowball of fighting impossible to resist attraction turned into a lot of throbbing, moaning, growling, where at that point, my personal preference would be for a little more plot and a little less sex. In the end, the plot twist at 99% read did save the last bit leg of the story, but it couldn’t undo my annoyance with both characters. Especially Ava had been wilfully ignorant and lawfully stupid for a good part of the story, mainly for – triggered pet peeve noises – the sake of the plot. And maybe a whole lot oblivious to the fact that Blake has had a life while she was growing up. Where he's a walking red flag in not being willing to share even the most basic details of his life with her. On top of that, I question the convenient absence of the best friend who did not inform Ava about her cousin's previous marriage and kid. The plot twist, for me, could’ve had much better lead up as that would’ve made me a fuck-ton less annoyed.
If you like romance drama interspersed with a lot of smut, and you’re not put off by the same annoyances and pet peeves I have, than this is the book for you.
Delectable Syn by L.J. Carroll is off the hook with the spice. I haven’t read a book this spicy in a while. L.J. Carroll is masterful with the twists and turns in a storyline. This was a story of Ava, she’s a curvy FMC whose insecurities rule her life. It was lovely to see her growth through out the story and become comfortable in her own skin. Blake is a successful doctor, best friend, and brooding idiot. You’re so frustrated by him and his coping mechanisms that we can’t help but to hate him, but swoon when he takes control. I can see how the yo-yo in his emotional state can make him the villain in the story.
The story takes place in England, therefore, there is some cross over between American English and UK English. It was easy for me to overlook, but I can understand how it can be distracting for some. Overall the journey in this story was beautiful. A beautifully broken man, who uses aspects of BDSM as a way to cope and a way to heal; a heroine who can’t see her self-worth, but finds it in the eyes of the least likely man.
I absolutely loved this book. The twists and turns it has you going through, spice, and a HEA definitely had me not wanting to put this book down until it was finished. I'm interested to know how the next book plays out especially if this book is anything to go by.
