Jersey, Devon & Cornwall Travel Guide: Attractions, Eating, Drinking, Shopping & Places To Stay

Rate this book
Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands (after Guernsey, Sark and Alderney) and is a self-governing British crown dependency. The island, which lies off the northern coast of France is not a part of the United Kingdom nor is it a member of the European Union (although the free trade of goods from the EU is allowed). The official name of the island is the Bailiwick of Jersey and it is part of the ancient Duchy of Normandy. This idyllic island is well known for the Jersey Cow, the actress Lilly Langtry and the 1980s Bergerac television series. Devon and Cornwall in the southwest of England have a long history stretching back to pre-Roman times. These neighbouring seaside counties feature pretty villages, stone cottages, beautiful beaches and wide expanses of open moorland. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy hiking in the national parks as well as the coastal walks. Watersports lovers like to surf the Atlantic waves.
