Loyalty has always been important to me. I never thought I would see the day where I would have to choose between family and loyalty. I never thought I would see the day where I held a gun to my son’s head ready to pull the trigger for the woman I fell in love with. A nigga had skeletons like most people did, but I never thought I would see the day when they revealed themselves. I promised to protect Ella and her family, and a nigga never broke his promise. Especially not when it came to the woman, I loved. I knew he had the power to make me feel, but he has also had the power to break me. To pull my heart outside of my chest and stomp on it. I knew falling for a man like Capone came with more than I was ready for. He wasn’t feared for no reason. Timmy never meant Jaiden any good and I knew it from the first time I met him. I’ve never wanted someone dead as much as I wanted him dead. Timmy needed to go, and I didn’t care how he went. As long as he wasn’t breathing. Capone put it on his life that he would always protect me and mine. It was time for him to put the action behind the words.
IKYFL!!!! And yes I know that’s how I stared the last review but shiiiiiii Jahquel plays too much with these cliffhangers!!!!!
That cliffhanger from book one had me stuck because whatttttt!!! Chyyyy I was looking at folks sideways 🧐😵💫🥴 I’m glad Jahquel isn’t dragging out these storylines for days and is giving us the answers to our questions because my anxiety couldn’t take it otherwise. The truth shall set these mfs free or put them 6ft under 🤷🏽♀️
The roster is still full to the brim with ain’t 💩 🥷’s and 🐩es 🫤😒 like FULL FULL!! The math was mathing and Trilla and Tasha seem to be the common denominator of the foolishness going on in this book.
Naheim and Capri what are yall doing?!?!!! 🤦🏽♀️ I’m sick of both of these mfs…..Erin, sis you definitely dodged a bullet!
Alaia 🧕🏾 I’m intrigued and can’t wait for that storyline to blossom more!
That entire Barbados 🇧🇧 trip had me like 🥰🥴😳🤯🤬😤🤡🥰🥹😍🥳
If it’s one thing Trilla gone do is leave a 🥷 when he gets arrested to fend for himself! How he still has a “team” is beyond me!
If it’s one thing Erin gone do is smack a mf in the face. Ma’am ima need you to keep your hands to yourself 🫠
We love an intentional man and Capone has been in👏🏽ten👏🏽ti👏🏽nal!!!! I love this man real bad!! Like the way he’s been showing up and showing out for Erin and her family is everything! The man said his actions would speak volumes and baby they are real loud!! Just when I think he can’t top himself he does!! And that twin already showing us a glimpse of what he’s capable of. The series should’ve been named “To be loved by a Delgato” 😆 because when these men love, they love loud and proud! Gimmie 15 of em 😅
3/5 - Love this series but really wish this book had been part of book one! This is definitely one of those stories that grabs you and doesn’t let you go so I’ll definitely pick up the third book asap! - It was so easy to follow multiple characters in this story and I was invested the entire time! It’s rare that I’m not confused if an authors adds in multiple characters, but the multiple storylines were so easy to follow! - Reading this book has made me even more excited to read the Cappandona series!
Book two continued with the same pace and momentum as book one. Capo began to mellow Erin out and she became a bit more trusting. Still a lot of twist and turns with a hell of a cliffhanger at the end. The grammar was bad in the first book, but I was so into the story that I was able to overlook it, however It was more frustrating in book two. There was also a lot of repetition throughout the story, still a good read though.
Ehhhhhh, this didn’t work for me as much as book one did, but it sure was messy. Erin started to get annoying in this book. I am all here for your independence, but she keeps doing risky things or does things to benefit everyone’s feelings around her, and that is not what they wanted. I was not expecting Capri to be cheating back, I will tell you that. A lot of relationships for sure crumbled in this second book, but for some reason, I did not want Erin to get pregnant. I am glad Ella was not coming with a lot of drama and kept her comments to herself but Naheim fitting the bill for Tasha was just some low low shit! Now, Capri, you know any man you cheated on Naheim with would be a problem and vice versa, but you two just had to pick people who run in familiar circles is just asking for chaos. You wanted protection from Kincaid when he couldn't even have protection himself, and you had to play Cleo from Set It Off. Smh, take you ass in the house. Still enjoy Capone and Ryai know she is wrong. She moves funny behind a man too many times for my liking. Book two was just okay but I just need Capone to start letting rounds off.
P.S. I knew punk ass Timmy was not dead. At this point Capone, I got a list of characters you can kill. Start with Timmy, Tasha, Sarge, Trilla, and Ella.
Ummmm sooo I don’t have the words! This was suspenseful and thrilling and bodies were dropping left and right! Tasha and Timmy are insane and I just can’t believe what they are up to. Nahiem and Capri are annoying BOTH of them! And I very much still love Capo and Erin’s love story! I just wish they could catch a break! My goodness! I need some understanding of Raiya situation cause that seems off. I hope Jaiden gets the closure and healing he needs in book 3! I’ll end this here with Ella is so stupid and desperate that it is going to be her downfall, unfortunately! Let me get into this book 3 cause my jaw is still on the floor!
The author was right when she said this is a slow burn. I’m still waiting for some excitement in Capone and and his fiancée relationship, there story is so boring. The only reason I stay tuned to this story is because of Capri and Nahiem’s relationship. They’re story is so much interesting. I rated the story a book because I don’t like reading about young innocent children being killed. It’s too much of that in real life. At least allow them to have a fairytale ending in a fiction.
The MOTHA BEEEEEEPPPPPP cliff hanger!!!! WTF!!!! I'm literally EVERYWHERE!!!! Now Jahquel J., why you got me out here speechless. I'm waiting on baby test results, Timmy discussions, Trilla ugh disgusting, new baby.... Ella just continues to piss me off. OMG am I ready for part 3? Whew this book got me up at 1:30 am refusing to close my eyes and now I running like Forrest Gump trying to get to part 3!!!
Jahquel J definitely knows how to leave us with a cliffhanger! Absolutely loved the growth in Capone from book 1 to book 2, in regard to his love life.. A lot of likable characters and whole lot of unlikable ones! I am definitely hoping to see Trilla, Tasha & their seed unalived or at least brought down a peg in book 3. I feel worse for Timmy as he is the neat adult child in the situation, but how can you turn out with possibly parents turn out with parents like this??.. I am excited to dive into book 3!
3.25 Author is very very VERY repetitive with her sentences. So at times it was an eyeroll moment for me if I’m being honest. But overall it wasn’t a bad read. Author really knows how to reel you in with the drama, that Naheim scene when he goes to the bar was 😮. But the audacity to say all that he said at the bar was craaaaazy! Some nerve!! How the saying go? “You get what you get and you don’t pitch a fit” 😂 I really hope Capri learned a lesson though because that other incident with oh dude was CRAAAAZY. Idk what this says about me but Capri and Naheim was the reason I was on this ride 😬😮
If Naheim has no haters, I’m dead. I don’t think I’ve hated a man more than I hate him. He does all the dirt he could possibly do and when he finds out Capri is getting her lick back now she’s a whore. Yeah okay, typical can’t get right ass mf always blaming the world for their shortcomings. I want the worst for him. Now, did her lick back also turn out to be lowkey worse? Yes, but that’s not the point. Naheim did her way worse and I’m jumping for joy the way it ended cause now look at you with the stuck face. Omg I hate him forreal. Speaking of hate, add Ella to that list too because you’re so busy tryna one up someone that you’re just moving mad. I enjoyed every second of her taking the fattest L in history. I hate Tasha too but that’s the type of girl you expect to sneak you.
On a more positive note, I liked this book even better than the first. I love Capone and Erin DOWN. They are so cute!! And I just adore how Erin still tricks on her man in a way that he’s not used to and is extremely thoughtful. Capone is so loving and it’s not often you read about a kingpin that is madly in love with his woman like he is with Erin AND it’s very clearly not rooted in lust. I do wish they had more spice but I love all of their chapters and the lack of spice really emphasizes their love more. And when he called her dookie booty I literally fell tf out. Capone is fine af, gets money, doesn’t cheat, is funny, protective and understanding? This ain’t fair.
1/5 🌶️ I don’t think there’s any spice at all? Maybe like one little something but it works for this series. One scene would’ve been nice, curious minds would like to know some things 😀
4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars!! Erin, Capone, and their family bring plenty of drama, but the real heart of the story is Capri and Nahem redefining what their bond looks like. Triller showing up adds an interesting twist, shaking things up just enough to keep things fresh. And with a solid cast of supporting characters, the world feels full and lived-in, adding even more depth to their journey.
Capri and Nahem’s relationship goes through some serious changes, making their journey one of the best parts of the book. They have their raw, emotional moments, but also those quiet shifts that show how much they’re growing. Capri really steps into her strength, handling love and loyalty in a way that feels real, while Nahem is figuring out how to balance his own changes with everything life is throwing at him.
What makes this book shine for me is how seamlessly Jahquel weaves together relationships, conflict, and emotion. The connections between the characters feel natural, their struggles hit hard, and the way their bonds evolve over time keeps you invested.
“You come home to me, Capone.” “Always gonna make it home to you, Baby.”
After reading the last three chapters I actually just wanna stare at the nearest wall for a couple of hours. I mean Tasha CAN NOT keep getting away with all of this. I had a fun time being with all our characters again but boy oh boy did I not see that plot twist coming and I am still mad about it.
I’m really hooked! I love that this series so much . . . I can’t get enough! I’ve read great books but this series may be my favorite! *grabs popcorn and starts book three*
