Easton doesn’t feel. He doesn’t love. He destroys. Raised in blood and violence as the adopted son of The Claimeds ruthless president, he was never meant to be anything but a killer. No conscience. No mercy. No weakness. And love? That’s the deadliest sin of all.
Lexi is desperate. Her ex is coming for her, and if she doesn’t stop him first, she’ll die. With nowhere left to run, she does the unthinkable—she sells her soul to The Claimed. Their price? Whatever they want. Whenever they want it.
But the debt never comes due. Instead, her life starts to change in ways that make her blood run cold. Cameras hidden in her apartment. A new lock on her door. And the people who hurt her? They start disappearing. She doesn’t know who’s pulling the strings—until she meets him.
The devil in leather. The man who’s been watching her. Stalking her. he calls her ‘mine’. A word spoken like a vow. A warning. A death sentence. But love in his world is forbidden. And when his father finds out, he does the one thing that will break Easton completely. Now, there’s only one way to save her. Kill the man who made him a monster. Take the throne in blood.
She was never meant to survive him. But he was never meant to love. And now? He’ll burn the whole world to the ground to keep her.
Katie Mackenzie doesn’t write the kind of romance that plays nice. If you’re looking for sugar-coated love stories where everything ties up in a perfect little bow—run. Now. She delivers the Happily Ever Afters readers need, not necessarily the ones they want, and she’s not afraid to break a few hearts (or a few characters) to get there. If a hero needs to fall, he falls. If a love story demands a little bloodshed—well, love hurts, doesn’t it?
A neuro-spicy author and special needs mom, Katie is a master of navigating chaos, whether it’s in her stories or real life. As a proud military wife, she knows all about embracing unpredictability—whether that means a plot twist or a toddler tantrum. Her survival toolkit includes iced coffee, a dark sense of humor, and a love for good food that borders on obsession.
When she’s not crafting love stories with bite, you’ll find her devouring books, seeking out the best eats, or advocating fiercely for her family. Katie’s stories are bold, raw, and just a little bit twisted—perfect for readers who like their love stories with sharp edges and aren’t afraid to get a little bruised along the way.
If you’re ready for romance that makes you feel something (even if it’s the sting of betrayal), Katie Mackenzie is your next one-click obsession.
I went in blind. Don’t go in blind. Katie tried to warn me. I didn’t listen. You should listen.
4.5 out of 5
Short. Dark. Twisted. Bittersweet. Masked man and a motorcycle club. Definitely not the HEA type of book and definitely a combo of living like a Viking in our modern world.
Lexi and Easton will in fact live rent free within my mind and not for the reasons one would think. Their “love” isn’t one anyone would necessarily want, but one might crave. The admission of that probably speaks volumes about my mental health, but ehh. We’re all a little spicy in these parts.
Talk about morally black. This is one adventure I could read again and again. Katie did great in describing and portraying. Definitely recommend if you have no triggers! Can't wait to read more by her.
Claimed Souls by Katie McKenzie is a dark, intense, and captivating read that blends suspense, desire, and emotional depth. The story explores themes of obsession and control, with a significant amount of smut that enhances the complex relationship at the center. Katie’s world-building is immersive, and the characters are deeply flawed, making them both compelling and real. The plot is full of twists and emotional resonance, keeping readers hooked from start to finish. A gripping, seductive, and raw book that will stay with you long after reading.
Ms. Katie what can I say? You are such a strong, impactful, talented and wonderful author. This work of stunning sex, love, deviousness and hate is a joy for me. It was catharsis, somber retribution for my own past, and a reminder we can't always have a perfect ending but yet we get to have the greatest ending needed.
Whew. When I say read the TW page it is a must! However I love the crazy things in this book so I guess that says enough about me. I feel like I can't say much without spoiling this but I am obsessed I fear. Thank you Katie for self-recommending this book. I am beyond glad that I read it!
The story line was good but if you have triggers of any kind you may want to rethink reading it. Lexi is escaping an abusive relationship and gets wrapped up in the Claimed. She loses her soul and gets broken and comes out as a new woman.
