I never thought that such a simple birthday present would turn our lives upside down. My daughter has always had the best imagination. She likes to play make believe. Like any other four-year-old child. But when she starts to tell me about her new friend, I begin to wonder if this is her imagination or worse. Is this new friend something she created or does she really exist?

This was a very tough reading experience for me to get through. The story was fine and followed the typical path for similar fare. Pacing was too quick, the plot points felt very convenient at times, but the main issue was that it was just crowded with a lot of distractions. The sentence structure was almost all these very short statements in rapid fire succession. And every single detail, insignificant thought, body position, etc was so overly detailed that it continually pulled me away from the story. Our lead, Zorah, also kept shifting from a second-person POV to a first-person, which was hard to stay with. There were also quite a few formatting issues on the Kindle version. Again, the plot was good, but there was just a lot of other factors that made this a somewhat unpleasant read. A good read through by a line and content editor would have really benefited the final product.
I really enjoyed this book! It was a quick read that kept me engaged from start to finish. I especially liked the ending, and I absolutely love the author's writing style. I've already added some of her other books to my TBR list!
Tiffany Royster's short story offers a compelling glimpse into the life of a protagonist who undergoes a significant journey of self-discovery. At just 107 pages, the narrative efficiently charts her growth, particularly her burgeoning belief and confidence in herself. I found the main character genuinely engaging, and it was rewarding to witness her navigate challenging circumstances while strengthening her relationship with her husband. The story effectively highlights the theme of finding balance and inner strength amidst adversity. Royster's storytelling is generally strong, with a good sense of pacing and tone that kept me invested. While there were some instances of grammatical errors that occasionally interrupted the flow of reading, they didn't overshadow the overall impact of the narrative. The core message of the protagonist's evolving self-assurance resonated deeply, and I appreciated Royster's ability to portray this transformation in a concise yet meaningful way. Ultimately, I enjoyed the book and Royster's storytelling. It's a testament to her skill that, within a short format, she managed to create a character whose journey felt both authentic and inspiring

Wow! I wasn’t expecting the twist with Ivy. This is a well written book that kept my attention. Everything felt relatable and part of the story. I enjoyed the story and thought the ending was perfect for the story
I liked the plot of the book it has nice short chapters and it’s a quick read. But there are lots of grammar errors and some times there are just to much detail on things that not important.
