Plongez dans une dark romance avec des loups aussi brutale qu’envoûtante. ☽ Lien forcé. Ennemies to lovers. Alpha torturé. Héroïne marquée. Université élitiste. Secrets interdits. Obsession. Pouvoirs.

Ember Green writes dark romance for readers who like their love stories with teeth. With a background in criminal law, she spent years studying how power gets abused — and now she puts it on the page, in worlds where the monsters are real and the morally grey heroes don't apologize for it. Her stories run on obsession, danger, and characters who survived things they shouldn't have. Expect darkness with a moral spine, never cruelty for its own sake, and endings that are earned rather than easy 🖤 The SAVAGE trilogy releases this summer — Book 1 on August 4. Follow her here to know the moment each book drops.
I loved the concept of this book. I think the execution will be flushed out a little better in the second book. It was a refreshing take for wolf shifters.
Our MFC has avoided the pledge for far longer than she should have, but her pack needs help and they have no choice but to have all the members take the pledge so they can receive some assistance. Instead of gaining an alpha like they had hoped, our MFC is revealed to be marked with infamy. Immediately, she is taken by the protectors. She was marked for death as the infamy symbol can only mean she was destined for destruction.
Our MMC is asked to do a major favor by his sister. She believes the marked shifters are more than just cursed and she wants to prove it. This can cost them both their titles and more if they are caught. He agrees to have the infamy marked women bound to him and be their alpha so they can be passed as students in an elite academy. This goes about as well as clipping a bird's wings and telling it to be grateful.
There is a lot of family drama going on from both main character's sides throughout the story. This book ends on a cliffhanger. If you like Shifters, Drama, Bounding, Alpha Males, Supernatural Abilities, Academy, & Forced Proximity, this is a good recommendation.
Lots of trigger warnings for this book including Grief, Alcohol Abuse, Family Abuse, etc. There are some spicy scenes but they are minimal. I have a feeling that will pick up in the next book.
I received an ARC of this book and I am leaving my review voluntarily.
Because of the mark carved into Romane’s body, she should be dead: it's the law of the wolves. But instead of being executed, she’s hidden away in Volkar, the academy reserved for the elite of the country's packs. Her presence within these walls is an anomaly, and the smallest misstep will be fatal. But too many secrets intrigue her, and Drake Evans obsesses her. The Alpha Romane’s been bound to is no ordinary wolf: the son of the First Wolf will do nothing to help her. Brooding. Unstable. Devoured by a dangerous rage. Day after day, he tightens his hold on her, seeping into my veins like an insidious venom. A poison as intoxicating and deadly as the green of his haunted eyes.
Drake left behind the weight of his name, his rank, his status as an Alpha. And now here he is, secretly bound to this marked one, Romane. Too wild. Too untamed. From the very first glance, Drake know she's going to be a problem. She stirs a darkness in him he thought long buried. As the secrets erode, Drake’s mind cracks, his wolf instincts blaze. Romane is a craving. A fever that consumes him. And if he doesn’t destroy her, she's the one who will annihilate him.

Ember Green opens up a world in which moonlight flashes off fur and secrets twist in the shadows. Magic filters through the underbrush, bringing out the wildness in each heartbeat. Desire and danger walk alongside one another with their claws exposed; the wolf pack's law being written in scars and longing.
Romane moves around Volkar’s academy as if she were a moth stuck against glass, her curiosity still sparking even though the rules are pressing in on her. She is not invulnerable; bruises appear under her skin, and her questions can be heard echoing down the empty corridors. Across the training grounds, Drake Evans moves along the edges, his presence resembling a storm cloud filled with past violence. The air between them is charged, thick with the smell of blood and with the memory of things that have been lost. Their flaws are not concealed; they are worn like talismans, sharp and unyielding.
The prose stays with the sharp bitterness of fur and the quiet sound of breath in the dark, depicting the wolf pack's world through passages of hunger and brief moments of tenderness. A sense of vulnerability is introduced gently, such as a hand shaking or a glance being turned away, while Drake's internal struggle is shown in the set of his jaw and his restless pacing like that of an animal trapped in a cage. Rather than just describing the situation, the writing forces you to be there in the moment, making your skin tingle with anticipation.
The story might have familiar elements, such as the moody alpha and the forbidden attraction, but Green combines traditional themes with a fresh kind of tension. The secrets build up like storm clouds over Volkar, each disclosure being something like a distant thunderclap. The pace is slow, the secrets unfolding one at a time, so that the world comes to seem less like a stage and more like a living, breathing entity, pulsing with both threat and longing.
The one thing I genuinely had a problem with in this story was that some of the faces in the crowd are blurred at the edges and their voices die away before they can make an impact. The world seems to crave more shadows and more complicated loyalties to increase the sense of sorrow and make the tensions surrounding Romane and Drake's uneasy relationship more intense. As the first book in this trilogy, it offers exactly what fans of dark paranormal romances enjoy: danger and desire, together with the rebellious wildness which adds depth to its overall tone and draws you into a vibrant mythical world. Furthermore, since it promises no multi-year waits and definitely delivers a happy ever after, it becomes a very attractive option if you're looking for a fantasy romance filled with all the emotional depth.
If you're looking for wolf-shifters with their teeth showing and their hearts broken, for secrets that twist in the dark and for lovers who live on the edge of ruin and redemption, this story will stay with you long after you've finished reading. The way Romane and Drake interact, being both a threat and full of tenderness, stays with you, raising a question that remains unanswered in the quiet just before dawn.
This is one crazy shifter read I mean you got premiere Alphas with some extra magical juice and one head physco who happens to be our male leads Daddy and trust me there are some major daddy issues there and not just with Drake his sister Donna has been up to know good especially with that jedi mind tricks thing she got going on. This is how it all starts crazy witches rogue female wolves and then theres the whole marked ones thing whitch is our girl Romane's whole problem and if her weak pack hadn't needed some assistance because of the raids well her little problem would have never been discovered now she just wishes herself dead or anywhere but were she is caught in some major Evans power struggle the sister the brother and the evil but seriously creul Evans senior and let's not forget the other power hungry wolves that can't wait to grasp control. Derek who has completely gone of the rails is bound to Romane now and there both being played by pretty much everyone or so im convinced at this point the sister Donna I cant figure her out but I really don't like her but her brother Drake has been slowly losing himself for years and has some control issues he's a jerk, and abuser with himself and Romane his dominance is off the charts and he could really learn to relax a little but at times there's something caring about him but that's rare but I don't hate him yet he's kind of morally grey and I cant wait to see how the second book plays out. I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.
I have been privileged enough to have been able to read book 1 of 3 as apart of Ember Green’s ARC Team and provide a review.
Ok, so from my perspective, this was a little slow to start with but I think that has to do with the fact that, this is not a short book. And it had to set the scene for the rest of the series of books that follow. So I kept getting distracted with… oh look… a kitty 🐈⬛ Right, sorry about that, as I was saying, about half way through, that’s when it grabbed me by the throat and held me there. Unfortunately and disappointedly, we humans apparently need sleep, so that was annoying because I honestly couldn’t put it down but my eye wouldn’t stay open permanently so I could read. This book however does leave you on a cliff but book 2 will soon follow which I’m hoping to read asap!!! Also, a word to the wise… this is so not your Traditional Standard Werewolf story. Ember has done an amazing job of deviating from tradition to create something new, unique and fresh within the werewolf community. Definitely one for the TBR or Right Now Reads
The MMC Drake had my heart going all over the place sometimes I hated him other times I loved him. I loved how obsessive Drake can be. I really like how right from the start of much they hated each other.
The FMC Romane is strong will and a bad ass loved her so much. I loved how protective she can be for her loved ones. I loved her thought process. Love how the two interacted and the build up and tension between Romane and Drake is so delicious.
I really liked the world building and backstories in this book. This shifter book is done different then others and i really enjoyed it. The twists in this book had me on the edge of my seat. This book is dark and spicy.
Honestly could not get enough. Had to forced myself to put the book down so I didn't finish it in one go. The cliffhanger in this book had me yelling. I will 100 percent be reading book 2.
I received this arc from the author and this is my honest voluntary review.
The anger and unhingedness that Drake and Romane have is intense! I am curious where this will go, how/if it will resolve..... Usually I have a guess in how things will play out and what the base problem is, but I can admit that I am not very sure I could with this one. The whiplash in their "relationship" is extreme and did not follow the pattern I have come to expect. The magic in this one is different than others I have read and it is both refreshing and intriguing. Thank you for something different and I am excited for the next one. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I love this genre and this book didn't disappoint. It was interesting and the show burn was great. The characters were interesting and fun. And the storyline was interesting. But now I can't wait for the next!! Cliffhangers are a buggar lol Id definitely recommend giving it a read!! Ill absolutely be looking forward to more from this author!!

I really enjoyed this book. My first foray into wolves shape shifters. I loved you kept my attention thru out the whole story. The Huntresses and the ceremony Romane a marked one we found out. The school. And SEXY ASS DRAKE! He can wrap me any day of the week. The tug and pull of the iron bond. I loved how showed the intense longing and desire between them both. I loved you showed them both to equally tortured souls that belong together.
This was a great first book in the series, and it introduced the characters and dual POV in a way that made sense to the plot. The storyline was kept at a good pace, and with enough twists and reveals to keep me hooked. The cliffhanger at the end is definitely enough of an incentive to want to read the next book in the series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Okay, I have a bit to unpack with this one. It was great once I realized Romane was a girl (for some reason I didn’t clue in right away). I loved how Drake was obsessed with Romane and there were twists I didn’t see coming. I’m intrigued about the next book but also not 100% sure I’d read.

Was a really good journey reading this! I liked how strong Romane was and she didn't take bull from anyone. She was a good heroine for the story! The male was good but i have to admit, there were times i wanted to strangle him. It was great chemistry though, and i liked the back and forth between them. i liked reading through it as there was a lot of suspense and mystery. very much enjoyable!
First time author for me and one of my favorite genres so I definitely wanted to read this book.
The premise was interesting, the characters had depth and chemistry, 😈enemies to 🥰lovers is chef's kiss🤌🏼💋, secrets🤫, and our female lead is marked for☠️ death.
And the cliffhanger ending has me prepped for the next in series.
First book to this series, compared to other wolf shifter novels, this one was different from what I usually read, in a good way! It has a very unique take on the shifter universe. Storyline between the characters I enjoyed. Loved the dual POV. I look forward to continue reading Book 2 to find out what happens between Drake and Romane.
The raw emotions and the anger, the turbelance in the relationship are nicely written and i am curious about how the next book will go but it starts of slow and I had to make myself read it fully. Nonetheless its a really good book
The Alpha Flaw Book 1 was very interesting to say the least. I really enjoyed the unique storyline with the characters. I am excited to continue reading in book 2 to find out what happens between Drake and Romane.
A good start to a series and a cliffhanger too. A few twists I didn't see coming. Loved the relationship between Drake and Romane with the intensity, lust and also mistrust. A slow burn and slow story to start but a very enjoyable read. Looking forward to the next one
I love that this book is written from the perspective of both the female and male lead characters. I found this very riveting and thoroughly enjoyed reading The Alfa’s Flaw. I can’t wait to read the second book!! I highly recommend if you love shifter stories as much as I do!!
