I found this book really funny, especially the Goat Guy.
It was my favourite in the Investigators series so far.
It’s about two alligators investigating a crime in a school.
The front cover is pink and has some cool illustrations.
If you want a sneak peek please read this part of my review: it turns out, have they been going on a wild goose chase or is this an actual investigation?! There are a lot of suspicions but they are there to make you go off track.
I give this five stars. If you like this review I would recommend reading it! 5/5 ⭐️
I thought this book was pretty good, though it wasnt as good as the first three. The series is growing fast though and i'm excited to see the the next book!
INVESTIGATORS: CLASS ACTION is a delightful new installment in this humorous graphic novel series. In this story, Mango and Brash are given a mission to go undercover at a public school as students to protect the school's mascot. As it turns out, this particular school is one where Mango was a student in the past. Questions arise as to what is really underneath this case, as these agents do their finest work.
What I loved: This was such a clever and fun new installment that brings the agents of S.U.I.T. to a school - a setting that will resonate with young readers. As they participate as students, they will undergo the usual school trials of classwork and social matters - all while also investigating and protecting the school mascot. As per usual, there are plenty of antics and puns that keep this clever story moving forward with plenty of giggles. The characters provide a lot of comedy throughout and the jokes keep readers entertained as they read along.
In addition to the humor, the mystery is a good one with plenty going on as they infiltrate this public school. The story moves quickly and is well-written, explaining everything smoothly through the images as well as dialogue. In terms of the format, the graphic novel is really nicely presented and will work well for the intended age range. The dialogue is easily attributable and never gets too lengthy on any page or panel, keeping readers moving along and invested. The images are full of color, charming characters, and provide some context and much of the comedy.
Although part of a series, this can be read alone, as everything is well-explained (including the abbreviations), and the story is self-contained. Highly recommend checking out the earlier books though, as they are all very fun!
Final verdict: INVESTIGATORS: CLASS ACTION is a humorous and highly entertaining graphic novel that is sure to delight elementary school aged readers. Highly recommend checking out this latest installment!
Please note that I received an ARC. All opinions are my own.
Brash and Mango are back and going undercover at a high school to help catch a serial mascot stealer. The mascot at Public High School 366 is and egg (because the number looks like the word egg) and they are called the Bucks. Say what? Well, chickens lay eggs and say "buck, buck, buck."
As you might have guessed this latest InvestiGators episode is packed full of egg puns. I also loved the undercover vests that say "Cool Beans" and "Rad!"(with a skateboard).
They are each equipped with a backpack(Bodily Appliance Contraption . . . for Kids!).
Inside their packs is a calculator. "What's that?" says Brash. "This is a calulator. It's like a phone, only much bigger, and just does math," says Seth Septapus.
There is a bully goat at the school giving everyone a hard time AND Brash ends up babysitting a package of saltine crackers when the teacher runs out of eggs for their parenting project. Crackerdile remnants?
And we get to meet Mango's parents. They are a hoot!
If you have been reading this series over the years you will find that this is one of the most entertaining installments yet. Go, Bucks! 🥚
Another fun InvestiGators book! This one is about probably everyone's nightmare: going back to SCHOOL. Mango even .
The one part that felt a bit weird was when . It just felt a bit... less funny? I mean, it's great that he found an outlet for his feelings, but it wasn't really what I expected from a comedy. (Maybe I should have, though, considering the prior books?)
Definite recommend for fans! Newcomers might be a little confused, though.
Mango and Brash are sent undercover as students to Brash's former school. Someone has been steeling mascot costumes lately, and if PS 366's mascot is stolen it will somehow threaten the security of S.U.I.T.s in addition to devastating morale at the school. Can they protect the mascot? Can they keep up the pretense of being students? Will someone recognize Brash? And just how do mascots relate to S.U.I.T.s security?
Another lighthearted mystery for Mango and Brash to solve. There are some unexpected twists and turns in this adventure, and new developments in ongoing mysteries. And of course, Mango and Brash's usual antics and plenty of puns.
Notes on content: Language: None Sexual content: An innocent childhood crush is revealed, nothing more. Violence: There are some accidents that put characters in peril, but no one is seriously hurt. Ethnic diversity: People are portrayed in a variety of skin tones, half the characters are animals or robots of no ethnicity. LGBTQ+ content: None specified Other: A school bully pesters the Gators for a lot of the book. They eventually stand up to him.
This was such a cute graphic novel and the next in the InvetigGators series which follows Mango and Brash having to go undercover at Brashs old middle school to figure out who is stealing the surrounding school mascot costumes and protect the one there at the middle school. The illustrations are super cute and the story is really fun and easy to follow.
Thanks to First Second Books and Netgalley for the complimentary copy of this book. All opinions in this review are my own.
Mango and Brash are back again and this time they are going to undercover as middle school students at P.S. 366
Mango and Brash turn into Martin and Brian as they sport brand new (and fully geared out) backpacks. Ready to save the school mascot since they’ve been told it is a matter of S.U.I.T security. Can they make it through undetected and solve the case?
We love this series, it is so fun and fast paced my son just speed reads through them!
Graphic Novel Brash and Mango are back and assigned to protect a school mascot. This assignment doesn't make sense to them and confuses them more when they discover they are going to Mango's alma mater. The comic adventures continue as they try to blend in as high school students and solve the mystery. Further connections to this school are revealed and the real reason for their assignment is amusing and sweet. Readers will love learning more about the back story of both main characters.
6,000,000 (sixty hundred thousand) stars from Ezra, 855 stars from Zophia!
This is one of the simpler mysteries in the InvestiGators series, as Mango and Brash go back to school to discover who is stealing the mascot costumes from schools throughout the district. The stakes are lower but still fun and enjoyable, and I’m looking forward to starting Wild Ghost Chase and finally catching up on the series.
Aha! Finally got to the volume nominated for the Buckeye Children's Book Award! (I am such a completist with series, LOL! But really, I hadn't expected these to be so serialized, and I'm glad I read them all in order because there are callbacks and lots of growth and change in the characters.) Mango and Brash go undercover at their old elementary school and it's hilarious. More silly acronyms but also some good points about dealing with bullying.
Another brilliant addition to this series. A whole load of school puns, which proper made me laugh! When Mango and Brash are sent back to school, can they face the past and solve the case? A case which is putting the whole of SUIT at risk! Honestly these books continue to entertain me endlessly! Can’t wait for whatever is next… and my class are gonna be thrilled I’m finished!
Our daughter wanted to read this on her own this time instead of together (like we have with all other investigator books) but I’m so glad she can read these on her own now. Just means I have to read it after her hahahaha. We love all things Investigators and this newest book did not disappoint. As always the humor is great. This book was egg-ellent!
Who knew that alligators would make good detectives! InvestiGators by John Patrick Green is a fun graphic novel about two alligator detectives, Mango and Brash, who solve crimes using high-tech vests and toilet-based travel. In their first mission, they go undercover at a bakery to find a missing chef. Two major themes in InvestiGators are teamwork because Mango and Brash work together to crack the case and problem-solving because the duo faces tricky situations and must think creatively to uncover clues and catch the culprit. The main genre of this book is mystery or adventure. The value of working together and Creative thinking. This book was a WOW book for me because I loved the illustrations, and the adventure that the book put me on. I read this book to my little cousins and they were engaged the whole time. Two literary devices that they used are puns and Wordplay because The book is full of clever jokes and puns (like “S.U.I.T.” for the detective agency) and visual imagery. The detailed and expressive drawings help tell the story and make it more humorous. John Patrick Green portrayed anti-bias perspectives in InvestiGators by creating diverse and non-traditional characters; the main detectives are alligators, and the cast includes a wide range of unique animals.
Our littlest is even getting into this now (the little ones only get to do the sound effects instead of a character). They still love it though. It was different than the other books but still cute.
bad villain some wish.com ahh random but the jokes are good like brashs crackers math meme and pokémon go. i like how daryl returned for like 3 squares and brash was goofy ahh. i like mangos spotlight in this 4.5/5 i like the cameo of george and harold from dog man and captain underpants

Another great installment in this series. In Class Action, Mango and Brash are going undercover as students at Mango's old school in order to protect the school mascot. There are tons of puns as always and even some cute references to the spin-off series.
