Two burnt-out perfectionists, two different goals, one Christmas bazaar ...

For Henrietta Miller, the annual Christmas bazaar is more than a charity event; it is the measure of her worth. Known as her church’s most dependable volunteer, she has built her life on a foundation of endless service, convinced she must earn her place by carrying every burden ... even if it costs her everything.

For John Baldwin, a man of commerce and logic, the disorganized bazaar is an offense to his orderly world. Tasked with making the event “efficient,” he arrives with ledgers and freshly sharped pencils, ready to cut anything that doesn’t contribute to the bottom line.

Forced to work together, they discover a surprising a man who trusts only in numbers can be moved by a woman’s selfless heart, and a woman who believes she was made for work can be rescued by a man who insists she was made for joy.Inspired by the song, “O Holy Night,” A Thrill of Hope is part of The Carols of Christmas, a multi-author series, but it can be read as a standalone novella.

Kellyn Roth is the author of historical romance novels with strong Christian themes, a touch of humor, and messy situations that put the main characters through the wringer and force them to face hard questions. Her stories include The Chronicles of Alice and Ivy, a Christian Victorian family saga.

Kell is the founder and owner of Wild Blue Wonder Press, a small press with the mission of sharing fictional stories full of grace and truth. Their goal is to create stories that matter, to delve into the deepest and sometimes the saddest parts of life, and to return from the darkest valleys resplendent in the light of hope and the fullness of joy.

When not building her author career, Kellyn is likely drinking iced coffee with her husband, getting lost somewhere in the Pacific Northwest with her friends, or watching period dramas and facetious comedies with her border collie.

I've been a Kellyn Roth fan for a long time, but if I'm honest, this one might have just snuck up to the top of my list. As a former pastor's kid who had a tendency to pick up responsibilities because "it needs to get done and who else will do it?", Henrietta's story resonated with me deeply. I loved John as well, and the way the two of them had similar lessons to learn was so familiar and so sweet.

I just love the way Kellyn writes a book, and this was no exception. Five stars from me!

A wonderful love story!

I am a fan of Kellyn Roth. I discovered her while helping produce some of her audiobooks. Although we have never met or even spoken, I find her talent amazing. Intimately acquainted with her writing, I find this book my very favorite among the many I have read.
The characters are strong and believable. The story has a couple of unexpected twists, making it intriguing. I cannot overstate how much I enjoyed it.
Thank you, Kellyn, for a sweet, gentle book that I will certainly read again.
