Rate this book
A missing dragon lord.

Taevas Aždaja, Isand of the Draakonriik and Lord of the Dragon Clans, is on the run. Ambushed in a vicious assassination attempt, the once untouchable dragon is lost, injured, and friendless. Forced to take refuge in the wilderness, he stumbles upon the answer to a mystery that’s haunted him for a decade.

A trapped princess.

Alashiya, a nymph from an ancient line, has lived in obscurity all her life. With her kin dead and her ancestral lands long abandoned, she spends her days sequestered in her crumbling farmhouse weaving wild magic into clothing to get by. It’s not a happy life, but it’s a safe one — until a dragon crashes through the roof of her barn.

Threads of fate bind them to one another — and to threats unseen.

It's cruel fate that finally brings Taevas to his Chosen just when his world stands on the brink of disaster. Old and new enemies have banded together to seek their revenge against him. More vulnerable than he’s ever been, he’ll do anything to save Alashiya from the danger he’s brought to her refuge. But not all princesses need protecting — and she might just save him instead.

I have wanted Taevas’s (H) story since I first read Astray in the Fragile Beings volume THREE years ago. I also loved him in Strike. He’s flashy but an amazing leader and loyal to a fault, ready to throw down for those under his protection, all while looking fantastic and exuding confidence. Here we have him turned on his head, lost and confused following an attack that was sprung on multiple world leaders that occurred at the end of Devotion’s Covenant. You don’t have to read other stories to grasp this one, there are just some mentions of side characters and some major figures in the world but who have minor roles here. The author has built this world so it continues to expand and become more layered, while still allowing for some hopping around. But because of that attack, Taevas finds his Chosen finally.

Written in third person, dual POV. No ow drama, not really om drama but the h is approached by another male that she’s not interested in and it stirs up the feelings for the H. The H has been with “thousands” of other women and I could have done without that knowledge and the couple of mentions of his experience that we get. He’s been celibate for years just from the scent of the h so I forgive him in the present, but the author could have toned some of his past down. The h has some past experience, a long time ago, but has not done everything.

Some tropes/themes:
☆ Nymph FMC x dragon MMC
☆ They’re both royalty/leaders
☆ Trauma has held both of them back
☆ She’s alone
☆ He’s got a whole clan who’ll embrace her
☆ Not the best first impression…or the second…or the third…
☆ They fantasized about each other before even meeting
☆ Dragons can be bossy
☆ Nymphs tend to run
☆ She’s resilient AF
☆ Really cool mating element not seen yet

Alashiya (h) lives alone on her land, following the loss of her family. She’s connected to the land and to the spirits of those who came before her and she works on embroidery to bring in money. Until she hears a commotion one night and works up the bravery to check it out, only to come face to face with an enraged and injured dragon. Taevas isn’t at his best and is drugged out of his mind, besides being in his shifted form initially, leaving him unable to speak. Alashiya is kind and compassionate, dragon Taevas is pushy. Even after he shifts forms to bipedal and regains speech, he’s still pushy in some aspects.

The characterizations of the two mains run deep for this book. Their pasts shape their current fears in a way that give them similarities while also being unique to their own pain. Alashiya fears change and leaving. Taevas fears some of his instincts and mating. Yet, Alashiya is tugged towards a man who will have to leave to return to the many people depending on him and Taevas’s instincts go wild near Alashiya because she’s his Chosen. It’s complex and they do internally run a bit in circles. The other layer to all this is the connection that’s between them that’s uncovered because of Taevas’s arrival there. How the author chose to write this was so cool. Alashiya’s conflict upon fully comprehending it all was also so relatable.

As much as I was enjoying the getting to know each other phase and some of the quirks each revealed to the other while Taevas was healing and hiding, their inner monologues regarding what the other one was doing or their plans for when Taevas was better eventually wore on me. Some of their dilemmas could have been resolved earlier with more open communication (naturally). I also think this could have been a teensy bit shorter and more concise. I adore the way this author has built this world and the details she’s woven into each installment, full length or novella. She does write a lot of words though and descriptions and thoughts. Seeing the characters’ grow and adapt to each other was wonderful and still dragged in places.

Like all of her books, the steamy times do not drag though. She writes some excellent bedroom (or forest) scenes and they enhance the relationship and connection for the characters. Same with the more vulnerable moments of the characters sharing their histories. It takes time and it’s worth it because the moments truly build on the foundation they’re laying and have meaning to the other one. Taevas especially, I had no idea that his journey began so humbly and rose so violently.

In addition to Alashiya and Taevas’s forced proximity, the threat of whoever kidnapped and hurt Taevas is lingering all around them. He needs safety and because of his feelings for Alashiya, he needs to ensure her security as well. In his injured state, that’s far more complicated and Alashiya takes risks that Taevas struggles to accept the necessity of, particularly with dragonish instincts riding him. But for as often as it’s mentioned that nymphs are perceived as delicate and weak, Alashiya flexes her strengths hardcore when needed.

There is angst in the relationship for some of the book. No third-act breakup, just an internal arranging of who’s going to go where and what it all means for their future. Alashiya and Taevas do get to a point of safety and Alashiya flexes more of that core of strength and power to step forward into being the leader she was meant to be. I loved the ending chapters with the clan and I did like the bit of justice that gets served. I do wish that the last chapter was something else than what it was only because I prefer the last chapter to be only relationship usually.

Overall, I’m satisfied with Taevas’s story and definitely happy with his pairing. The points that brought this a little down for me were mostly minor. My anticipation for this book was also sky high because again, three years y’all. I need a couple characters’ stories now, this always happens with Abigail Kelly’s books. I go in expecting to want more and more stories. She has to write in this greater world forever.

REVIEW
I loved Alashiya’s annoyance with the dragon who crashed onto her land, destroyed her barn roof (more), and then kept her in his paw all night. Taevas was a goner for her immediately, but he was simply a nuisance.

Their (unknowing) obsession with each other before they met really helped solidify them as a couple. I thought Taevas’s jealousy of himself was hilarious. He managed to be possessive without being restrictive, trusting Alashiya even when he resented he couldn’t keep her safe.

I was excited for this book because of Taevas, but Alashiya ended up stealing the show for me. Her strength and steadfast determination made her so lovable.

This series helped me out of a reading slump last year, and I’m so grateful the world keeps getting expanded. This universe is one that’s easy to sink back into especially with the resources Abigail Kelly provides (both in the book and on her website) serves as a perfect refresher to the lore and worldbuilding.

Thank you Abigail Kelly for the ARC!

Trigger or content warnings? Yes, included in the back of the book.

Details?

Alashiya is the FMC. She is over a century old. Taevas is the MMC. He is over a century old but I do believe he is older than Alashiya.
Alashiya is a Nymph, who has lived on her Grove’s land since her birth.
Taevas is the Isand of the Dragons, which means he is the leader of the Draakonriik territory.
Both are sexually experienced, but Taevas definitely more so.
Both of their pasts are mentioned in slight detail (no names, but rather references to past partners).
Alashiya has not had penetrative sex, but has done everything else. She is referred to as a virgin.
Taevas has been actively celibate for three years since trying to find Alashiya through the commissioner that he receives her embroidered pieces.

My thoughts?

Alashiya and Taevas put me through the wringer.
Shiya is a tough, stubborn, and a compassionate Nymph. She lives alone on her land, with nothing but the ghosts of her late Grove members to keep her company. As well as the energy of the land itself. Besides living off her land, and rare visits into the town’s one store, she is an incredibly talented embroiderer.
Taevas is high handed, charming, and stubborn Dragon. He’s the Isand of the Draakonriik. He’s the legendary leader of the Draakonriik territory and has been for the majority of his life. The citizens mean everything to him. He loves his family, he loves his responsibility and he loves being in control. Which is what makes him such a fantastic leader. He is slick tongued, easy to get along with and hard to get a rise out of.

Their lives first started intertwining 10 years ago, and it started with the commissions Alashiya works on from a store in New York. Her Mother’s side of her heritage is known for their embroidery. Taevas only likes the finest of things in life, so the first time he sees her pieces in store he buys out the whole lot. Over the years as their connection built, they could feel the pull to each other. Alashiya and Taevas both tried to get each others information from the owner of the shop, but were denied. Multiple times. Taevas never gave up though, and neither did Alashiya. He kept up with his orders. As well as trying to get her attention in other ways, like sending bolts of the finest fabrics and a proper desk(plus a chair) where she could embroider comfortably. Alashiya never let it stop her either, she would pour her magic into his pieces, silently pining for her customer she would never meet.

Yeah. Fate definitely had to give them a helping hand. Which resulted in Taevas crashing through Alashiya’s wards, through her barn roof, and her having to deal with a half-feral full sized dragon that first night. Their first meeting was rough. Luckily Alashiya had her handy-dandy scissors as protection (heavy sarcasm).
There were a few misunderstandings and gaps in knowledge that had me holding onto patience for dear life. Yet, even without a way for Alashiya to confirm who he was she went and got him medicine. She took him in, she cared for him, and she protected him. To have them fall in love away from the world, on Shiya’s piece of land, allowed them to build a foundation in her comfort zone. Shiya has never left her small town, she does not own a phone and lives her life very disconnected.
It also allowed her to see Taevas at his base. Much to his chagrin (he wished to be able to spoil her from the get go because that is the Dragon way). While he could not erase the fact that he is Isand, and was out of his mind with worry for his citizens, but he also did not actively have them interfering with his life when he was trying to find his wits.

Overall, I experienced a spectrum of emotions while reading Valor’s Flight. It was fantastic. It was a perfect building block for AK’s NPU, and helped expand the knowledge of the universe. As well as fill in some missing puzzle pieces. I also have a very soft spot for Taevas who was three -quarters in love with Alashiya before he had even seen her face, it was off of her scent alone. By the time he ripped through her wards and crashed into her barn she had been integrated into his life over the past 10 years. He was so besotted that he couldn’t leave his home without a piece of her (her art) without losing his mind. I read this twice before reviewing it, and I still doubt if I was able to capture the magic that happens between the two of them.

I wanted to love this. In fact, I thought it was great until it wasn’t. If you’re feeling like reading a slow-burn, then this is for you. Both MCs are hundreds of years old so it’s understandable that they’ve been with OP. However, I didn’t need to read about it. This is a pet peeve of mine, I don’t want to know about others.

Ate this shit up.

This world has been so fun. The overlapping is done really well, the cultures are super cool, the characters are a delight, the FMCs are all unique and wonderful, can’t wait for more as I dive into the novellas and hopefully more novels to come

*ARC Review* I loved this! We finally get Taevas' book!

Taevas and Alashiya are great, both are rulers in their own right and she doesn't let Taevas get his way nearly as much as he's used to (which he loves). Getting their history together while trying to unwind the overarching plot of the series is fun and keeps the book moving well.

Alashiya's history is tragic and Taevas is perfect for her in his understanding of what it's like to lose everything. Plus it was so nice to see the clan step up for her. I really want Radek's story!

Abigail Kelly has yet to disappoint me. When I read one of her books, I know I will have a good time and gain insight into the complicated world she has designed.

With Valor's Flight, we finally see more of Taevas, the Isand that many of us have long been intrigued by. He's flashy and, reportedly, a bit of a playboy. But like all of Kelly's characters, there's more to him than what's apparent. We find out he was a major player in the Peace Charter and has been intrigued by the woman embroidering his clothes for years. We find that he has become a target in a scheme now stretching across multiple books.

Which leads us to Alashiya, a nymph who has lost everyone important to her except her beloved "Adon," the customer for whom she has embroidered countless items. She has spent years guarding her home and knowing that with her, her grove dies. She's accepted that to remain close to land she loves and the family she's lost. When Taevas crashes into her life, everything changes.

Taevas is a strong personality with expectations that things will go his way and that everyone will be charmed by him. It's a fair expectation and one that has been affirmed by the people he's met in the past. His reputation generally precedes him wherever he goes.

Except Alashiya doesn't have contact with the world outside her tiny, dying town. She feels a sense of responsibility for her home and a bit of fear for the outside world. Her home and the world Taevas is used to are so opposed that each has a hard time imaging living in the other. Assassination attempts and political upheaval mean that adaptations need to be made, and despite the machinations occurring, this is still a love story.

I loved that Alashiya can be a quiet, gentle woman with traditionally feminine occupations, and still be a strong woman that develops goals outside of the home and her relationship. As Kelly demonstrates well, femininity and a desired for family do not equal weakness or subservience to a spouse. I look forward to seeing more of Shiya in future New Protectorate stories.

And speaking of future stories and how Kelly's characters, like real people, contain multitudes, I can also only hope wot see more of our "antagonist," Sergei. He's got such protector vibes that I wouldn't mind him finding a damsel that's actually in distress to bond to (initially typo-ed as boned, which I also wouldn't mind).

And BTW, where in the world is Ruby Goode?

TAEVAS. What a man...dragon.
Once again, I'm here on my soapbox screaming at anyone who might hear me to get them to read all of Abigail Kelly's books in one sitting. It's not a difficult task, y'all. It will be fun and you *will* love every minute: lush worlds, amazing MMC, fierce FMC. You cannot ask for more.

Now that my disclaimer is out of the way, I will say that this story is one of Kelly's sweetest. It's got a lot of tender and gentle moments, even when our MMC is attempting to be domineering and bossy. I also believe this may be one of her less spicy books. The spicy scenes are nice, but did not feel as...aggressive (I'm lacking the correct word here). For the dynamic between the powerful, cocky Teavas and the timid little Alashiya, I wanted to see more of their bedroom dynamics on paper. Aside from that, their love story was gorgeous and built in a very natural way. I'm hoping we get a short or something more of their life now because I love their banter and how Taevas is the king of uplifting and empowering Shiya.

Alashiya was an interesting character for me because she's probably last on the list of NPU women that I feel like I have some kind of understanding/kinship with. She's a very sheltered, timid character who does have some really lovely moments of strength. I think for her backstory, the way she is as a woman in the world made a lot of sense. And while I cannot personally relate to her, I don't think I would change a single thing about her. I'm excited to maybe learn more about Nymphs in the future and see more of them in general in future books.

Ultimately, this is another excellent addition to the main NPU series. The future possibilities just keep lining up between all of the Wing members and Alex. Give me MORE of the draakonriik!!!! For being another big book (~500+ pages), it reads so quickly as the reader witnesses the growth of the love, the tenderness of their relationship, and the fun, witty banter (a staple in every AK book).

Thank you Abigail Kelly and team for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

Valor's Flight was a story that made me feel so many emotions I was not expecting.
I enjoyed the heck out of this even though this isn't my typical type of genre read. I was looking for something outside of what I typically read and ended up with this story that pleasantly surprised me.
Taevas and Alashiya meet by chance. Or maybe even fate. He is Lord of the Dragon Clans and after he is ambushed, attacked, and injured, he takes to the wilderness for cover. Alashiya is a nymph that makes clothing, who stumbles upon Taevas in his weakened state and ends up taking care of him. Immediately Taevas feels a familiar feeling with her and wants her near him all the time. He is a gigantic dragon who's behaving like a cat. After realizing the connection they share and how it must have been fate that brought them together, the attraction and connection they share instantly grows. For years, she has been making clothing for an unknown man, but protecting him by weaving her magic into his clothing, what she didn't know until that moment was that he was the one she was protecting and that he wanted to search her out. And now that they have finally found each other, the threat of who attacked him and why is looming over them. Taevas fears that he may have brought danger to Alashiya. Alashiya, however, may not need his protection at all though.
The story is enjoyable, though, there were some slower parts that had a hard time keeping my attention. The plot was intriguing enough to keep me going though and I ended up really enjoying this.

Taevas and Alashiya tomorrow!!!!

I loved this one so much. I immediately fell for Taevas in his first mention in Astray and purple is my favorite color so obviously I was READY when VF was announced. And it absolutely delivers.

The pacing is different from all the others and very much opposites attract but at their core, these are two grieving tired people who have been hiding from their real wants and needs for various reasons choosing (😉) to stay and work towards a future together.

We learn way more about the dragons, 👀 reveals about the assassination plot (I sure hope we’re getting Ruby next) and a lot of really cool lore about the nymphs and Blight.

Alashiya’s story is heart wrenching and it is incredible watching someone who has no alive friends or family gain an entire clan by the end of the book. Similarly Taevas has his clan but lost his parents (and we learn all about that and his time as a 17 year old bringing the dragons together) and finding his chosen because HE FALLS OUT OF THE SKY is so Abigail Kelly in the best way!!

The time and development of their relationship to get her and Taevas to safety is so well done. Every book Abigail does something new while giving us what we’re used to a love and this one is my new favorite in the main series after DC and CG!!! (But I love all of them!!!)

We finally get Taevas's story!

I don't know about y'all, but I feel like we've been teased with Teavas's character since Consort's Gory and boy, it did not disappoint!

First, I must premise that I stayed up until 2 am to finish this book. I have no regrets. Without further ado: Spoilers may be below

Continuing off from Devotion's Convent, we get Taevas on the run from his kidnappers. His hiding place just happens to be with his mate, Shiya. I absolute love how we see Taevas at his lowest and completely out of his depth and yet he's at one of the most important crossroads of his life--trying to woo his mate. Seeing his character growth was so rewarding throughout the book as he accepts that he doesn't need to be the Dragon Lord for Shiya, he just needs to be Taevas. Moving onto Shia, she's such a quiet badass! Standing her ground with Teavas who can be bossy, but she takes no shit from him but also having the courage to move out of her comfort zone/safe space and into a new chapter of her life--she does it all.

My favorite highlights:
- The wooden spoon
- Tomcat dragon Taevas in the kitchen
- The woods 🔥
- Adon
- Teddy and Margot cameos

As always, I can't wait for the next book!

i love these books. there is just something about abigail kelly’s writing that works for me every single time.

this one was no exception, although it was not as good as some of the others. it was still solid - the chemistry was amazing, the characters were complex and likeable, and i had a lot of fun. with that said, it simply wasn’t as gripping as other books in the series. i believe it was the length of this book (i don’t think it needed to be THAT long) combined with the secluded setting that made the story feel a bit stagnant. my other complain would be the amount of times teavas’ sexual past was mentioned. was is necessary? no. it just made me irritated, especially comparing it to shiya’s experience.

so, although i did have a little higher expectations, i still liked it a lot. i may be a little biased, since i’ve read every single book that abigail kelly has written (except for one but i have no intention of picking it up) and i feel very attached to this world and these characters. there were a few things that i think the author could work on, but the talent is undeniable and i can’t wait to read more.

“Whoever you might be out there, *I* am the queen of this grove. No one is the boss of me.” Said the nymph to the dragon.

This book has one of the most satisfying epilogues ever. And I cried at least once. All of that said, I’d like to give it a 4.75 or 4.5. I can’t though because even Abigail Kelly’s less developed books are so much better than most other authors’ best.

Taevas and Alashiya are both complex characters with long and tangled backstories that Kelly sets up well. The claustrophobic setting with the two of them stuck in an isolated enchanted grove is effective and their chemistry is poignant.

This book is part of a multiple book plot arc that is starting to get a bit too bulky or something. The two main characters have a complete romance arc and it’s both interesting and satisfying, but there are too many structural gaps in the larger story. It should be possible to enjoy it without having read other Kelly books but seeing other characters from other books make their cameos is rewarding.

I absolutely loved this book!!! The YEARNING… top tier!! This story follows Taevas MMC(dragon) and Alashiya FMC (nymph). These two have been been unknowingly pining for each other for a decade. I guess the fates took pity on them and brought them together in a very unexpected way. The pull these two immediately felt toward each other is so beautiful because they knew they met their person before evening meeting each other. In the beginning it took me a second to figure out whose thought process we were following ,as it’s been a minute since I read a book in third person, but once I worked it out I couldn’t put the book down. Even though the fmc is very sheltered she is by no means weak. If you want a story about an unlikely pair, whose love story began well before the pages of this book but will last forever… this is the book for you!!

Thank you so much Abigail for the copy of this book! All thoughts and opinions are my own💜💜

Ya know when you are about 5 chapters into a book and you already know it will be a 5 🌟? That is this book. In fact its every book in this series

The world building, the characters, the Lore, the hints of how everything all interconnects is so good, so thought out and so addicting!

This latest installment follows a lonely Nymph, last in her Grove living a solitary life. Her one spot of joy the garments she makes-and the big purple Dragon who comes (literally) crashing into her life and upturns everything. He is bossy, he is beautiful, he is hurt and needs her help.

This is book 5 in the series and yea you should read them all-but if you didnt you could absolutely still enjoy all of this (just with minor spoilers for previous installments) please read if you enjoy:

🐲 bossy Dragons who just want to nest snuggle
🪾 beautiful nymph lore and connection to nature
✂️ shears as a weapon of choice
🪡 embroidery as a love language

“The sun must rise. Death must come. A dragon Chooses. It can’t be undone.” The pull between instinct and responsibility is at the core of Valor’s Flight.

Alashiya is a nymph whose line stretches back to the very beginning, and she hides from the world in her grove’s crumbling home.

Taevas is the leader of the Draakonriik and he has grown used to denying parts of his nature in an attempt to avoid the fate of his parents. He is a recurring character that has shown up in other NPU stories.

Fate seems to bring the two of them together under dire circumstances. Taevas escapes after being kidnapped and crashes into Alashiya’s life. The first half of the book is a slow burn of them dancing around each other as they realize what they are to each other.

They are both alike in so many ways. They each have lost a great deal and it has left scars behind. I cannot stress enough how much I loved this book and this series as a whole. I teared up several times throughout the book. How can you not when you read line like “When he died, there was no grove to guide or family to share the memories with. Nothing but ghosts and the end of a line that saw the beginning of all things.”

I have been looking forward to this book since reading Fragile Beings and it was well worth the wait!! Taevas has been showing up in many book within the universe and everyone I wanted to know more. I loved getting to meet Alashiya! Also getting to learn about nymphs in the world for the first time! These two were a good balance for each other. There was a reveal within their relationship that had me giggling and kicking my feet. It added an interesting layer to their relationship!

I really enjoyed the plot of this book. The romance of it all was wonderful. The mystery behind Taevas’ last kidnapping was intriguing. It was great getting to see familiar faces of Taevas’s clan and some new faces. It’s also been cool to see the overarching plot throughout the New Protectorate books unravel more and more. It’s got me excited to see how it continues to unfold!

Overall a fantastic time!

“You’re not going to hurt me, are you, Taevas?”
“Never.”
“How do I know you’re telling the truth?”
…“My name is Taevas Aždaja,” he rumbled, eyes locked with hers. “I am the Isand of the Draakonriik, Lord of the Dragon Clans, and head of Clan Aždaja. My word is law, minu metsalill, and I say you’re safe from all things.”
Alashiya blinked. Her expression was nonplussed. “I don’t think anyone can make a promise like that.”
He let out a breath. “My Shiya, I am not just anyone.”

Take away about one hundred pages and you have a five-star book. That said, I'm finally glad I connected with a couple from the main series. Until now I only really had luck with Kelly's novella's / spin-off books.

Wow! This was excellent. A fantasy romance that was actually romantic - the perfect blend of warmth and heat. I loved how Taevas and Shiya brought the best out of each other despite their differences. Such a cute match!

Abigail remains an exceptional storyteller. I was swept away from page one and stayed engaged the whole way through (tough to do with a 500+ page book!). The layers of political, social, and intrapersonal tensions… so good. This is one of my top picks in her New Protectorate series, for sure.

Love this book from the first page.
Abigail Kelly has yet to disappoint me. When I read one of her books, I know I will have a good time.

Alashiya's history is tragic and Taevas is perfect for her in his understanding of what it's like to lose everything. Plus it was so nice to see the clan step up for her.
Really recommend this book.

An enjoyable read! Everything by Abigail Kelly is always a hit for me! I know that her books will scratch that itch for a feel-good romance with a deliciously obsessed MMC.

I've loved Taevas since the first book, so while I enjoyed this direction of seeing him at a vulnerable state and the FMC stepping up to care for him, I would've also loved to see more of his Isand persona. I did miss the swagger and confidence that were hinted in the previous books. But regardless, still loved reading this!!

Gargoyles?? Harpies?? When dragons exist?

I was excited to finally get Taevas’s story and it did not disappoint! Read it in one day and I absolutely love Abigail Kelly’s world building skills. The explanation of Nymphs is very creative right up there with her interpretation of Weres! This might be my new favorite (until the next one comes out or I reread another one of her books).

Well! The wait for Taevas’ HEA was well worth it!

I loved this story of dragon shifter, Taevas, and nymph, Alashiya.

There were so many good things about this story. Beautifully written, it had suspense and action as well the deliciousness of a powerful dragon shifter brought low.

I love the dragon shifters in Abigail Kelly's New Protectorate world. They are such big softies for their mates.

I also loved being introduced to the nymph lore and their deep connection to their land and ancestors.

Thank you Abigail Kelly for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

Shiya threatening a dragon with scissors is the most badass thing I’ve ever read 😆 The fairytale vibes and the looming crisis are just so good, and of course when we finally got the payoff at the end (the EMBRACE) you best believe I screamed my little heart out. Another excellent book from AK, she is an auto buy author for very good reason!

Excellent paranormal romantic adventure

The nymphs add a fascinating slant to the Protectorate's worldbuilding. Shiya's PTSD and her struggle to cope with a wider world is believable. Taevas has been an intriguing character, and Flight is a great addition to the Protectorate saga. And Hele remains amazing and hilarious.
