I have enjoyed several from this author duo, and happily add this prequel to the list.

Why I recommend reading this one?
* It starts a new storyline
* The storyline is addictive and easy to read
* It is full of everything expected in a dark, gritty, steamy, dangerous Mafia story...
--challenges for position and power
--violence and betrayals
--sizzling chemistry between Lev and Alina

I really enjoyed the insta-love/lust that pushed Lev into his position as Alina's dark hero. I feel it is in your best interest to read this one before beginning Dimitri and Zoya's story (coming next).

A brilliantly crafted story with world building characters and a fascinating storyline that captures the reader attention from the start and keeps you hooked and turning the pages until the end. A fast paced, thrilling and spicy story. Immerse yourself in this mesmerizing story and follow along as these two characters fall in love. An absorbing addictive and unputdownable read. Holy hell this book was hot I had to fan myself. A fast paced, thrilling short and steamy read. This is Lev and Alina story which is told from a dual point of view.
Alina Petrov is a twenty-three year old waitress who is struggling to make ends meet along with her ailing mother who does ironing for the rich folks and a sister who had gotten with a boyfriend who didn't mean her any good and put her in a tough situation. Marina was Alina's baby sister who owes fifty thousand dollars to the Bratva. It wasn't even her debt, it was her no good boyfriend who had convinced her to take on the loan for him then he skip town. She was threatened by the Bratva for the debt. She wanted to go and work the debt off as a maid but Alina knew that her sister wouldn't make it because of her sassiness. She knew that her sister would not survive not with this guy Koka who the debt owed to his name alone put fear in people's heart. Koka tells Alina that it was either Marina her but someone will have to pay the debt.
He tells her about an auction that she could sign up for that will help her pay the debt. But it wasn't what she thought it was. She thought that it was going to be for the pleasure of a woman's company not to get laid. Koka set it up so that Alina could go to auction to pay off the fifty thousand dollars that's owed to his Bratva. Lev Ivanovich is a Bratva boss he's at the underground auction looking for Sergei Novikov. The underground auction is just a front, a perfect opportunity to observe a rival he's planning to eliminate. He's not there to participate in the auction nor do he care on how they got themselves there. Sergei had been making waves in Ivan Romanov's territory and he wants to get something on him to gain favor Ivan. Sergei was reason for there being there and he was locked in on him until she came on stage. He caught him in his peripheral as he seated with an air of a man who believes himself untouchable. He saw the gaze flickered in his eyes that he was interested in her, a silent claim before he even bids. He could see that wanted to owe her, to break her. But he doesn't plan on letting him win. Lev knows that if he buys her it will make him mad and he doesn't plan on losing the bid. He win the bid paying a half a million dollar.
Lev is a man who doesn't do anything without a plan and was surprise that he bid on her. He's focused, calculated in control until she steps on stage. When he takes her home he didn't know what he was going to do with her but with her sassiness and defiance he was drawn to her and had to show her that she wasn't in control that he was. She should be afraid but she's not and when he realized she's more than just a pawn in this deadly game. She's a weapon one that could tip the scales of this turf war in his favor. They had sex and he immediately became addicted and obsessive. He didn't want anyone to touch her. Here's the problem the same piece he could hand over to secure victory is the one he can't bring himself to let go of. And in this world, attachments like that they'll get you kill.
Lev is cold, ruthless, calculating and relentless with a power that pulls her in even as it terrifies her. The deeper she's dragged into his twisted world, the more she realizes this isn't just about her sister anymore. She's in over her head and the stakes are higher than she's ever imagined. He found out that her sister actually owes one of his own men meaning the debt was owed to him. Sergei is encroaching on Ivan Romanov's territory and Lev wants a partnership with him so if he can get him to leave or kill him he got something to offer Ivan. Alina decided to help him if he could give her a one thousand dollars because after she paid the fifty thousand dollars Koka tells her that she has one week to give him a one thousand dollars even though she paid what she owed he decided to add more at the last minute, something that he didn't go over with Lev.
Lev didn't want her near Sergei because he was very protective and possessive of her but he knows that she was the only one who could help him to lure Sergei where he could kill him because of his obsession in having her. Lev wasn't planning on falling in love with her when he purchased her but she got under his skin very quickly and he fall hard and was out of his mind when he realized that she went behind his back to sell herself again to Sergei. He was livid and he snatch her up and gave her a hard fucking at the charity and at home. With her help he was able to set Sergei up and hand him over to Ivan and got what he wanted to work with Ivan. With both getting what they wanted she wanted to know if she was only with him for a good fucking. But he tells her that he loved her and didn't want her gone. She was final secure and her mother didn't have to work anymore so she decided to finally go to college something that she but on the back burner because she couldn't afford. She loves Lev and finally felt wanted and secure.

I’m very happily hooked on this series - looking forward to the next book.

This book had me hooked from the start! Being a Mafia Romance story, it is dark in places, violent at times, passionate in places, full of secrets, loyalties tested and let’s not forget the heat between them. You will fall in love with Lev and Alina, hoping that everything with work out for them and if they have a future together. There is never a dull moment - you will be hooked! I know I was - just love these two! A thoroughly enjoyable read from page to page, one chapter to the next - at times you are metaphorical “on the edge of your chair” wondering what will happen next. Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Alina and Lev) DARK POSSESSION follows in the aftermath of an auction wherein Alina Petrov finds herself payment for a debt. Alina’s sister’s boyfriend is in debt to the Bratva, and her sister has been targeted. In an effort to protect her sister, Alina offers herself up for auction where she will find herself bought and sold to Lev Ivanovich, the man with whom Alina will fall in love but all is not as it appears to be, and Lev needs Alina to help take down a deadly rival.

The world building is fast and furious: from auction block to Lev’s mansion, a matter of hours in which Alina finds herself a virtual prisoner of a man who is struggling with his attraction to our story line heroine.

The relationship between Alina and Lev begins as an auction purchase. Alina is desperate to protect her younger sister but having to sold to the Bratva, Alina struggles with the demands going forward. Lev battles between head and heart as Alina slowly succumbs to Lev’s demands and more. The $ex scenes are provocative and intense.

The secondary and supporting characters are questionable and powerful. We are introduced to Lev’s current handler and Pakhan Ivan Romonov, his second in command, Dimitri Volkov, and Sergei Noviko.

DARK POSSESSION is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, payment for a debt, acceptance and love. The fast paced premise is dramatic and edgy; the romance is fated; the characters are determined and dark.

This book completely drew me in from the very first chapter. It's dark, intense, and emotionally compelling in all the right ways. Lev isn’t your typical hero; he’s cold, calculating, and dangerous. He doesn’t go to the underground auction looking for anyone, especially not someone to protect. In contrast, when Alina steps onto the stage, something shifts. She is bold, proud, and refuses to break, even in the most terrifying situations. That’s what makes her impossible to ignore.

Her only goal is to save her sister, even if it means selling herself to the highest bidder. Despite her expectations, she finds herself in the home of a man who sees her as more than just property. The connection between them is raw and complex. Neither tender nor sweet, it’s messy, high-stakes, and addictive. It's hard to know whether Lev will destroy or protect her world.

My favourite part was seeing how both characters developed. Besides surviving, Alina is smart and strong, refusing to be used as a pawn. At the same time, Lev, who is convinced he is immune to feelings, unravels remarkably. This book is filled with tension and danger around every corner, and the pages turn quickly as they reach the end.

This romance is filled with grit, power dynamics, and characters who challenge one another every step of the way.

Extremely well done.

I really enjoyed Lev and Alina's story. The story begins as one thing and then develops into something else. It is well written considering it is only 130 pages with the author carefully establishing a plot that keeps developing and building. The auction is just the beginning with a sexual attraction that develops between Lev and Alina. He certainly isn't Mr. nice guy when it comes to sex with Alina, but as the storyline progresses and his feeling toward her become something more that a "pawn" or a means to and end, things begin to heat up. Alina fights the attraction, but sometimes the bad boys win out even when they initially treat the women as nothing more than a paid prostitute or whore. Elina, when even faced with selling herself to a stranger to save her sister is still a force to be reckoned with. She does not come from money, and isn't impressed by it opulence. I grow tired of authors who spend too much time describing the wealth and opulence that surrounds these characters, instead of developing the characters and story.

The story is filled with a roller coaster of emotions, suspense, manipulations and eventually love. I am hoping that the author develops a follow up to this story as well as the book that will be coming out about the character Dimitri. The author left an opened ending about the other characters in this story which hopefully develops into other stories surrounding the Romanov Bratva series.

Meant to be!
What happens when a mafia man on mission ends up with a girl in tow?

Alina and Lev are the protagonists in this introductory tale to Vi Carter & E.R. Whyte's new series, Romanov Bratva, a let me tell you, assessing from this short story, we're in for a ride with the Romanov Bratva men!
Lev saw an oportunity to be part of a powerful organization, prooving his worth and loyalty. What he never had expected was to enter in a dispute fir a girl when ge was there fir sk.ethjng ekse...it felt good though...too good, savouring victory and antagonizing his tarfet...
Smart?! Not so much....but now he saw something else, as interesting, a fire on the stage girl he couldn't wait to extinguish or ignite further!
Alina was on a mission where the fear was real and the demeanor blasé....it couldn't be any other way because her baby sister needed saving, but couldn't do it on her own.
OMG! these two!
Fire lighting fire, a battle of wills, sweet surrender, complete decadence and when the time came, the lion roared high!
Well, Lev is a Romanov now with his woman by his side, the right hand man is not happy, maybe a distraction can help hom overvome his distrust?

This is a prequel to the new series written by Vi Carter and E.R. Whyte. It’s the continuation of their series Sons of Mafia that I loved !! These two authors collaboration is one of the best I have read. It’s hot, steamy and spicy!!

Lev Ivanovich is a train Irish military specialized to extract information, to dismantle resistance, to use psychology as a weapon. He is tracking Sergei Novikov. Lev wants a way in the Romanov Bratva.He is a nuisance to the Romanov, cameo from Ivan Romanov from Vows of Violence book. He found Sergei at an auction and met Alina Petrov. She’s there to sell herself so she can pay a debt to the Bratva. Lev and Sergei battled out to buy her but Lev win the auction… to use Alina to bait Sergei… will it work?

I really really love the book! It’s a nice prequel to set the rest of the series. 134 pages is not long enough for me but I am so excited to see what is next!!!

Alina will do anything to keep her sister safe from the hell she finds herself in; which finds Alina on stage selling herelf to the highest bidder in the hope it clears the debt that Koka hold's over her sister.

Lev is at the auction to watch and learn about Segei, but when Alina comes on stage, he is drawn to her, it's her determination, the jut of her chin, draws him in, she will be his.

Both find out a lot about each other. Alina is surprised at her reaction and attraction to Lev, something she thought was just a 'business' transaction, a means to an end, to help out her sister.

Lev likes that he has something that Sergei wants, something he could use as leverage to draw him out, but he didn't plan on Alina's sass and fire to make him fall for her. Can he use her now, put her in danger, knowing he has feelings for her?.

A great novella about a young woman trying to keep her little sister safe and the man she falls for while she keeps her and her mother safe.
At the beginning the two were at odds, he the dominate and she the fighter but soon they became close. After he found out what was going on he tended to her dilemma.
They come up with a plan to solve his problem but he almost loses her before the man he wants to work with comes. He tells her that he loves her but she doesn’t say it back.
She puts her mother and sister in a new home and tends to her sister business.
Six months later she’s in school wishing she was home with him and her family. He comes to visit her and she finally tells him that she loves him. The couple is in love.
The novella is easy to read, a page turner and also has great characters. A steamy romance among its pages as well as a happy ever after ending.

But when Alina comes on stage as the next person to be auctioned, his job at hand goes out the window, and he starts bidding on Alina; he needs to have her. Alina panics when her worst fears about what would happen to her sister's debt come true. How will she fix things now?

To save her sister Alina agreed to sell herself at an auction to raise $50000 that her sister borrowed for her then boyfriend from the Bratva...boyfriend disappeared, and young innocent Marina said would get job as maid to pay off debt...but when auctioned, did get bids from two men, Sergei and Lev. Lev attended to get bead on Sergei for his employer Ivan, but was drawn to Alina because obviously she was not woman usually seen at these events...so he bought her, bringing her back to his mansion...but one of his men was who Alina needed to pay, and then he increased payment needed....but you will need to read this story of Bratva man who will kill for his possessions...I voluntarily read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy.

I loved Alina! She was determined to get her sister out of a mess, even willing to sacrifice herself. I loved how strong she was with how she faced everything that she encountered!
Lev definitely had me very curious about him, especially after his impulse buy for someone so in control. He gave me a bit of whiplash with how he treated Alina.
I loved watching them develop feelings for each other, but it seemed like Lev went from 0 to 60 in the span of a few pages. I liked that Alina wasn’t as rushed.
I loved the way this one ended, and I’m now really curious to see what will happen with Dimitri and Zoya!.

Dark Possession by co-authors Vi Carter and E.R. Whyte is the beginning of the Romanov Bratva series. I am not sure if this is a "prequel" or not, but it is a delicious first bite that will leave you wanting more. Alina is sweet, beautiful and intelligent. She also loves her sister so much that she willingly auctions herself to get the money to pay her sister's debts. Lev is a very dangerous and scary man. He is also a Mafia killer who has a new target. But when he is watching his target and also gets a look at Alina on the stage he has a new target....getting her in multiple ways. These two are opposites who will soon inhabit the same world. But that is only if Lev can keep her safe and protected from his.

Dark Possession is a fast read and a little shorter so perfect for curling up and making a day or evening (or 2) off it.

Swoonworthy Lev… I mean the man ticks all the boxes and Id love to see where he ends up later in the series! He will be making it to the top I hope.

Alina is a refreshing female lead. She obviously makes some realy hard decissions but she owns them and I found her awesome.

An unexpected find leads to a whole lot of chaos!
I love Alina’s strength as she puts herself on the line to protect her sister from her loan shark. Lev has an ulterior motive for going to the exclusive auction to keep an eye on a rival, Sergei. Yet the moment Alina takes the stage, his focus is switched he finds himself somewhat at a lose end. Alina and Lev’s chemistry is explosive, but will Lev’s interest in Alina be used against him, as well as, Alina be used as the bait in bringing Sergei out in the open? So much to absorb in this latest Bratva romance, that you will need to read the book in one sitting!

Alina finds herself caught right in the middle of a brewing war. Her sister is in serious trouble and to help her out of it she auctions herself off to obtain money. Lev is drawn to her and out bids everyone, and it starts them along their path. He soon learns that Alina is a woman who bows to no one and is a force of her own which only draws Lev deeper into her. He learns that she is a weapon that could turn things in his favor but the longer they are together will he be able to use her for that purpose. This story had me all caught up in it from start to finish.

Lev is at the underground auction to observe a man he is looking to eliminate. That all changes when she steps on the stage, she has confidence and does not cower. He not bidding on her due to mercy, but due to no one else should touch her.

Alina has option but to go in her sister's place to raise the money she owes, she must save her. The man who now owns her is going to let her go, like she was told.

There are things at play, someone else who not happy he lost. This a prequel to the Romanov Bratva series, it is off to a great start, cannot wait for the next.

Dark Possession is the prequel to A Romanov Bratva series and is a short, fast paced read. Introducing Lev and Alina, Dark Possession is easily a one sitting read. These characters are fantastic and I live Alina! She's a strong, fierce, independent woman and does whatever it takes when she's faced with problems even if they aren't her own doing. She's a force to be reckoned with and challenges Lev in such a way that he has no choice but admire. It's going to be interesting to see where this series and it's characters lead.

Alina and Lev, an enthralling, somewhat confusing story. It starts with her entering an auction to pay off a debt that wasn’t actually incurred by her!
Lev sees her, makes the highest bid and next minute Alina is living under his roof.
Lots of passion, angst as well as strong characters that really do end up working well together. Snippets of witty banter, lots of caring and protectiveness and a sweet ending.

Such a good prequel, I can hardly wait for the novel to be released to finish the story. I have read other novels by these authors and really enjoyed them. This prequel did not disappoint. I am so excited to read the next novel when it is released. From the first chapter this prequel pulled me in and held on tight. So good! I loved Lev and Alina. My heart hurt for Alina and what she is forced to due to try and save her family. I loved the chemistry between Lev and Alina. Once I started reading I didn't want to put it down. I am so excited for the next novel to be released. So good!

The only choice to save her sister who was saddled with a huge gambling debt her boyfriend actually owned is for Alina to sell herself at auction for the amount of the debt. Lev has no plans to buy anything at the auction but when he notices the interest his enemy is showing in the girl on the stage, well that is when he decides that she will become his and only his. This story was short but addicting from the first few pages and I am anxiously awaiting the release of this series!.

When these two authors get together you are guaranteed a fantastic read. This book in the Romanov Bratva series is no exception. The chemistry between Lev and Alina starts at a slow burn and then in the blink of an eye the combustion just blows everything out of the water. I don’t want to give anything away but you won’t be disappointed in this read. Great job authors.

I enjoyed this shorter book. It had a good flow and didn't feel rushed like other shorter books Ive read have. It was a very well developed story line and read it in one sitting. I enjoyed the character development and seeing how the relationships developed throughout. I am looking forward to seeing how this universe grows and develops.

Dark Possession is filled with danger, suspense, intrigue, and darkness. Leading man Lev is broody, secretive, and demanding. Watching him come completely undone? Such an outstanding journey. Alina is bold and brave, sacrificing herself to protect her family. I loved watching her unravel for Lev. This is another well-written tale of love by two outstanding authors!.
