He wants revenge is the debut novel for H. Dawn. It was an incredible read. I could not stop turning the pages once I got into this book it was impossible to put down. H. Dawn is a talented author and it comes out in her writing.H.Dawn outdid herself with her first book and I can’t wait for the next installment as this is a duet.
He Wants Revenge is the story of Xander’s revenge on a girl who he had been told was the reason for one of the biggest changes in his life. For taking away the only person who ever truly supported him and loved him despite who he was and the battles he had raging inside. He was going to make this girl his puppet and make her do whatever he wanted until he was ready to be done with her because HE told him to. He said it was her fault. Was it?
Hazel had a life filled with traumas and battle her own battles and mental health struggles inside. She had a hard life and fights every day to keep her head above water. To not let the darkness she loves so much consume her entirely. Can she? Will she find someone who feeds her darkness the way she needs it to be fed. In a healthy way? Maybe not to outsiders but healthy to her.
If your ready to be one of Xander’s puppets and you crave the darkness this book is for you and you absolutely need to read this. It is well worth it!

This book? A full-blown descent into hell, but make it impossible to put down. Trigger warnings? Read them. Twice. Hazel’s life is a masterclass in suffering—abuse, trauma, gaslighting—you name it, she’s endured it. And yet, she refuses to stay down. When Hazel gets in trouble doesn’t fess up to her part, Abner winds up the one in trouble. Enter Xander, his brooding, tattooed, zero-patience-for-bullshit, Physco brother who sees Haze for what she is: a goddamn survivor, but he wants to own her and eliminate her for her part in putting his brother away.
Not your everyday love story. It’s brutal, twisted, and so painfully real that it’ll have you screaming at the pages in frustration. The revenge? Delicious. The heartbreak? Relentless. The healing? Hard-fought and well-earned. H. Dawn doesn’t sugarcoat a damn thing, and the result is a book that will wreck you, rebuild you, and leave you questioning every “bad boy” trope you’ve ever swooned over.

First and foremost, PLEASE check the TW and once you are done check them one more time. You mental health does matter.
He Wants Revenge by H. Dawn is pure, unhinged chaos wrapped in razor sharp prose and soaked in obsession. This book didn’t just go dark...it lived in the dark. And Xander? He’s not a morally gray love interest. He’s morally void. And still? I couldn’t stop falling for him.
♥The fact that he orchestrated everything from finding Hazel to manipulating her life just to get close is so twisted and brilliant!! He didn’t stumble into her world. He built the entire situation around her. The fake coincidences, the “accidental” meetings, the way he slowly broke down her walls until she had nowhere else to go but into his arms. I would say it was villain-level obsession, and it was glorious.
♥Hazel isn’t some damsel. She’s traumatized and fragile, yes, but there’s a storm under her skin that Xander can’t help but admire. The way she fights him, hates him, needs him...every interaction between them is so emotionally charged you can practically taste the tension.
♥Now the writing?? H. Dawn knows exactly what she’s doing. Every sentence hits like a loaded gun. There’s this beautiful, almost poetic rhythm to the chaos, a haunting cadence that made the violence feel intimate, and the romance feel dangerous. You want them to burn, because somehow, in all the carnage, it’s the only thing that feels real.
♥ I would have to say that this isn’t a love story. It’s a dark, bloody fairytale about possession, revenge, and needing someone so badly it destroys everything in its path. And I would read it all over again.

I read this book in a day, that’s how good it was, I just couldn’t stop turning the pages or whatever the kindle equivalent is. This is not a love story, this is an unhinged tale of sorrow, abuse, drug use, pain, and two people who soothe each other and make each other feel alive. It was the perfect dark romance. Some of it made me squirm and that stuff is definitely not for me, but it was so minimal that you just can’t take away from the writing and overall story. A true dark romance.
Xander is on a mission to avenge his brother; he’s got it all planned out. What he doesn’t have planned out is how much Haze is going to warm his black, broken heart.

From the first page, the novel establishes an atmosphere where the pain is familiar, desire is distorted and love is anything but safe.
I really enjoyed this book especially for my love for dark romance and this story elevates its refusal to soften its edges. The relationship between the two main characters are not meant to be idealized; but examined. This book is definitely not a light read and nor does it try to be. I was hooked all the way to the end and enjoyed this read. I definitely would suggest reading your trigger warnings before diving into the book.

This book was so good I didn't want to put it down. If you like dark and obsessive love. Then I would highly recommend it. The spice in this book is on fire.. the storyline is good. I would be ordering this in paperback to have on my shelf.

I absolutely loved this book. So much happens wow, what a ride and I can't wait for the next one. Such a quick read, but oh so dark and captivating at the same time. Xander is by far one of my favorites in this series.
