"Tasmina Perry left a career in law for the more glamorous world of women’s magazine journalism.
She has written on celebrity and style for many national magazines including Marie−Claire‚ Glamour and Heat and was most recently Deputy Editor of InStyle magazine. She has also found time to launch her own travel and fashion magazine Jaunt. All of her four novels have been Sunday Times best-sellers and her books have been published in seventeen countries.
The story became secondary to the ridiculous amount of grammatical and other errors in this book. Words missed out on every other page, ‘too’ used instead of ‘to’ multiple times, ‘sort’ instead of ‘sought’ and so on. Wouldn’t get this many errors from a ten year old. Can’t believe a major publisher would put this out. Feel very let down paying money for this.
Disappointing book from an author I like. The first half was slow and dull. It improved in the second half and the ending was good. The characters were, on the whole, not very likeable and only Ruth and Jez were more than one dimensional. The book needed tighter editing and to be pacier to hold the reader's interest.
Tasmina Perry is a brilliant novelist. I love all her stories. And Return To Paradise does not disappoint. I was totally immersed, couldn't put the book down. Great characters and plot. Wonderful!
No spoiler here but it is an easy and relaxing read for me. I like some of the characters and because I am also based in Thailand, it makes it quite fun and the sayings in the book about Thailand is very true.
