Killian Farm is a place with deadly secrets. A place local children speak about in frightful whispers. A place Laney briefly called home until her mother took her away without explanation when she was only seven-years-old. She hasn't been back since, not even to visit her father who never said goodbye.
But Killian Farm is a place where he would never find her.
The man who tried to kill her—the father of her children—tracked her family down despite years of moving, of building a new life with new identities. Now Laney has to throw away everything she worked so hard for to save her family. She has to take her children and run.
But, unless she can face the darkness that has been tormenting the Killian family for generations, she's running from one nightmare right into the inescapable trap of another.
Meehan crafts a gripping horror story that is exceptionally well-written and engaging. Killian Farm themes include family resilience, overcoming spousal abuse, and uncovering long-buried family secrets. The novel features characters you’ll be invested in and root for—Laney was an extremely likable protagonist! Meehan weaves suspense and a haunting atmosphere throughout as Laney and her kids confront their family’s dark past. One of my favorite novels this year, it masterfully blends psychological and paranormal horror.
