The Barren. The High Priest. The prophecy. Mating bonds.
Everything that could have gone wrong, did.
With the threat of the barren, Freya’s unknown location and the High Priest looming over us, it’s hard to rest and Eryx & I are no longer. Mykill keeps telling me that he’ll forgive me, but I know he won’t.
Our enemies continue pressing into us, trying to break us & those I once considered allies, prove themselves as foe.
Will Mykill & I be able to partner enough to defeat them? Or will the crushing weight of our enemies flatten us?
The little prologue at the start of this installment was heartbreaking, but it was so nice getting an insight into what happened with Alethea's birth parents when she was a baby. Jumped straight in with the heartbreak in this one 🤭.
Again, this installment was perfectly paced and super easy to read and follow. All 3 books in this series have been really quick and easy reads for me, which is a nice break from some of the super long books I've been reading recently.
The romance in this installment is a bit more of a slow burn, but the tension build was perfection. I've been gnawing at the bars of my cage waiting for this book's release so I could see Alethea and Mykill together, and it did not disappoint. We had a sort of "who did this to you" kind of moment early on in the book, and I always eat that kind of stuff up. The fact that Mykill is a broody arsehole to everybody other than Alethea melts my heart, I love them so much. There wasn't really much spice, but all their scenes together had me giggling and kicking my feet.
Now let's talk about Eryx. I physically cannot explain the amount of pure hatred I feel towards his character. He actually enrages me, and the way he just sees Alethea as his property makes me see red. There aren't many book characters I truly despise, but he is 100% one of them. Glad he got what was coming to him.
There were quite a few action scenes throughout this one, and I really enjoyed the overall plot continuing on from the previous book. THE FINAL BATTLE. What do you mean!? I was not expecting the prophecy to play out like that, had me panicking for a minute there.
My only complaint is that there was a lot going on during the last 20%, so it felt a little bit rushed. I would have loved the book to be a bit longer and more fleshed out, but overall it was an amazing ending to a series I've really loved reading
Completing this series has left me both heartbroken and whole.
While I wish the story had been longer, I couldn’t help but cry tears of joy knowing Alethea got the happy ending she so deeply deserved. And let’s be honest, everyone got the ending they deserved 😂🫣 The revenge and redemption in this book were pure perfection 🔥
The evolution of the characters was 10/10. Despite everything Alethea endured, she grew into such a strong and empowered woman. Mykill’s unwavering love and support from day one were top tier, and I couldn’t have been happier to finally be rid of Eryx.
The twists and turns had me in a chokehold from book 1 - 3! The fast paced nature of this series kept me hooked, and I never once found myself bored.
Trinity’s writing has a way of pulling you in and not letting go. The way she weaves emotion, tension, and heart into every page is incredible 🥹
Beyond the gripping plot, the world building was rich and immersive, balancing high stakes with emotional depth — making this story unforgettable. It’s rare to find a series that makes you feel so deeply, but this one delivered 💫
Blood of the Dead and Divine has earned a spot among my favourite books/series and I’ll probably be rereading it soon to fill the void I’m now left with 😅
If you love fast paced fantasy with complex characters and jaw dropping twists, this series is a must read.
I can’t wait to see what you write next Trinity 🤍

This book was PERFECT! I loved the ending- I was scared a LOT when Alethea had died though. I don’t like a lot of the time when they get the FMC pregnant at the need but I liked it here, I think they rounded the ending off really nicely. I loved this series a massive bunch and i’m kinda sad to fisnhed it but it was a very good ending. However I will say that yes they killed the black mage and therefore the other mages but what about the High Priest? I’m pretty sure he didn’t die or did I miss something? I was kind of sad to see Eryx die because yes he turned into a horrible person but we got to really know him in book 1&2 and we also read about him and he was a really nice person and genuinely loved Alethea. I would love to see a novella of his massive character change- similar to Fearful by Lauren Robert’s. Also I understand we only had limited time but I wish we got to learn more about Mykills backstory! But overall i read this book in one sitting and it was AMAZING! The plot and plot twists were perfect plus the war at the end was written so freaking well. One of my favourites for sure!!!
There was so much going on but not in a bad way. You got the backstories, why each character acts the way they do. It doesn’t feel rushed. It was a great way to end this series and the whole time I was ready for Eryx to get what was coming to him. This books shows you how fast and easily people can change and become evil, evil they swore they would never become. The FMC is strong but goes through her own real troubles. There is a little bit of spice sprinkled here and there but it is really left up to your imagination.
I wish we would’ve gotten more of Mykill and Alethea, the love story was believable, but just a little more would’ve been icing on the cake. You could still see their growth in learning how to trust each other rather than just pretend is just the mate bond choosing their feelings and their fates.

The continuing backstories and explanations greatly enhance the overall narrative, adding the layers that make a series a great read. Just like the first two books, this third installment is fast-paced and maintains its momentum. You get all the details without it feeling like a lengthy read.
The story is filled with smoldering tension and a slow burn throughout. I appreciate the limited amount of spice, as it fits well with the story; having more would have felt out of place, in my opinion.
My favorite aspect of all the books is the emotional journey you experience with the characters—love, hate, and the "What on earth did they do?" moments. All of these feelings come to life and perfect this conclusion for me.
Overall I'm very happy with how this series ended and how everything was wrapped up and solved.
This book felt a little rushed and had a few editorial errors throughout.
*small spoiler possibly*
I appreciated Alethea being the one to kill her villians not have to forever be saved. Some may not like the ending but I don't mind it and it felt nice, though also slightly rushed through. I would have loved a peak at the characters a few years down the road too.
‘I love you,’ Dorian whispered as he placed a kiss on Alethea’s forehead. ‘If we are not reunited in this life then I will find you in the next life. And there I will give you the life we were meant to have. Even if I only get to meet you there, I will hold onto that hope that we will see each other again.’
Great series! Enjoyed the ride, Mykill is everything!
As per usual, and to no one’s surprise, I loved it. One of the things I love most about her books is that you can’t ever tell what’s going to happen next. Or at least it’s rare. For me, that’s big. Because I feel like I can guess some plot points pretty well, but she always keeps me on the edge of my seat. Alethea grew so much in the book. She finally became who she was meant to be and accepted that life isn’t always fair, and sometimes stories have tragic endings. I feel like her and Mykill went through the most character growth in this book. I will say it was a bit slower at times, I felt like there were a bit more “filler chapters” than in the past. But I don’t mind that! Please forever keep writing Trinity I love your style, and the fantasy plots you come up with!
This series had twist and turns. The battles was had you on your seat. I did cry. The romance was perfect. Seeing the characters grow and the sacrifice that was made was epic. I can wait to see what else this author come out with. This series will keep you pulled in with out a doubt
The book had a congruent ending. The flow and pace were good. The plot was also interesting and the tropes were ok. I wish some of the characters were a little more original but I still enjoyed the read and would recommend. I appreciated that it didn't have overly graphic details as well.
I found the first book while scrolling tiktok! Rushed to Amazon! And was immediately engulfed in this amazing and fast past story. The plot twists and turns kept me turning page after page to know what happened next. Perfect ending to this trilogy. Absolutely love it
