October 1940: As German bombs rain down on London, Michael Fernsby's war is about to become personal.
When coordinated attacks strike key military installations across Britain's south coast, Unit 317 realises they're facing a deadly new threat.
Codenamed Falken, a ruthless German operative has unleashed a network of sleeper agents and elite Brandenburger commandos with one Destroy Britain's secret intelligence apparatus from within.
As his fellow agents fall in carefully orchestrated attacks, Michael races to uncover the traitors hiding in plain sight.
But with British intelligence compromised and a traitor feeding secrets to the enemy, Michael must navigate a deadly web of deception before the saboteurs strike a crippling blow to Britain’s war effort.
From the smoke-filled streets of the London Blitz to the shadows of occupied Europe, this sixth instalment in the Fernsby's War series plunges readers into a high-stakes game of betrayal where no one can be trusted, and every choice could be fatal.
As the bombs fall and secrets unravel, Michael will discover that some wounds cut deeper than war itself.
J.C. Jarvis grew up in Derbyshire, England, with a lifelong fascination for history, particularly the Second World War and Tudor England.
After serving in the British Army and later working in the IT industry, he turned fully to writing, transforming a lifelong passion for history into a career as a bestselling historical fiction author.
He is best known for the Fernsby’s War Series, a sweeping World War II saga following British intelligence officer Michael Fernsby and those drawn into the hidden war of espionage, resistance, and sacrifice behind enemy lines.
The series has built a loyal international readership and is praised for its depth of research, emotional realism, and cinematic storytelling.
In addition to Fernsby’s War, Jarvis is the author of the John Howard Tudor series and the origin novel Defying the Reich, which tells the powerful early story of fan-favourite resistance heroine Mina Postner.
When not writing, J.C. continues to research obsessively, always chasing the next story buried in history’s shadows.
In Falken, the sixth instalment of the Fernsby’s War series, J.C. Jarvis delivers a gripping, emotionally charged World War II thriller filled with espionage, betrayal, and relentless tension. Set during the London Blitz, British agent Michael Fernsby faces his most personal and perilous mission yet hunting a ruthless German operative who has infiltrated Britain’s intelligence network.
Jarvis masterfully captures the claustrophobic fear of wartime London and the psychological strain of divided loyalties. Each twist deepens the suspense, while the human cost of deception gives the story its emotional weight.
A taut, impeccably researched thriller, Falken is a powerful exploration of courage and conscience in the face of betrayal.
The sixth book in this terrific Fernsby’s War Series took a different turn than the previous books, as Michael Fernsby and Unit 317 are tasked with finding a traitor in their midst. As various members of their unit are killed/assassinated in England by a highly trained team from Nazi Germany, the storyline was filled with nonstop mystery, suspense, and action. I am already looking forward to the seventh book of the series; and, then, will take a hiatus from Fernsby’s War until the eighth book is published in 2026.
Book 6 - The Abwehr Spy Gladius within British Intelligence
This may be the best installment so far in this series, and I’ve given each of the prior ones five stars each! Senta, Mina and Fernsby are all here, with most of the story set in Britain this time during the Luftwaffe bombings of the latter half of 1940. Sleeper cells, Nazi commandos on English soil, and a deep mole within British intelligence. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Fernsby's hunt for for Nazi terrorists continues. But this time the hunt is at home in England. Fallen is full of suspense. I was unable to put this book until it's conclusion. A really good read. Highly recommend this series, especially if you like WW2 espionage.
Another suburb book by J.C. Jarvis! I love the Fernsby’s War books so much. With all thats going on in the states right now, I found that I could genuinely relax and enjoy some hours in the latest great fiction found in Falken. I can’t wait for Book 7!
The books get better and better. My only regret is the next one is my last. The first two books great but they ended the same. After that the books were great. They extended into the next. Left a cliffhanger. Highly recommend. No I don’t give a review telling you the book, why read it? These are great, bad Nazi all the way through. Highly recommend.
It seems like this series improves with every book. It is evident that so much research has gone into these books. The characters are wonderful. The plot is very moving. Can't wait for the next book in series.
I’ve read each of Jarvis’ books. I’ve loved them all. Jarvis is a gifted writer who uses words and intrigue to engage the reader. I can hardly wait for the next volume to come out.
Excellent, edge of the seat stuff. The whole book range has been exciting, very well written and a reminder of the horrors committed by our former enemy’s (now friends) just 80 years ago.
… book 6 is the best of the series … it’s rich n pure with romance and actions …hauntingly enduring with wordless emotions … Could not put it down … … will most likely read again !
