7 Days to Save Herself...
Piper Santis knows she isn’t one a good witch.

Living in the shadows of her family’s powerful legacy, Piper bides her time with her various different accountant, barkeep, vampire staker extraordinaire. She feels like an outsider in a world of supernaturals, until her life takes a terrifying turn.

A centuries-old Master vampire, shrouded in mystery, legend, and deliciously strong muscles, sets his sights on Piper, and he won’t let go. Sensing the untapped and extraordinary power within her, he plans to claim Piper during the once-in-a-millennia Rose Moon - a rare celestial event that could amplify her magic and bind her to him forever.

Which is obviously so not happening.

Forced to face the truth of her ancestry, uncover those tedious little details mom and dad left out, and find the strength within herself to flee the grips of a Master vampire that wants to rule the world, Piper embarks on a perilous journey to discover the extent of her power - all before the night of the Rose Moon.

Are you tired of courts of ice? A blank of blank and blank? Queen of blank? A king of blank? Tales of Gryzeldyn and Zharric? Giving yourself a stroke memorizing world guides in the beginning of books?

The Rose Moon might be the breath of fresh air you need.

Replace those wordy courts with a tavern owned by a /yummy/ master vampire. Rose Moon infuses a modern world-setting with a perfect dose of magic thanks to witches like Piper Santis and her sister, a cigarette addicted werewolf, and vampires run amok.

Imagine: You get to the office after a long night working a double at the enchanted bar your sister runs, only to find an 'invitation' (cough an order cough) to meet a master vampire at his tavern.

What happens when, like a rational person who /doesn't/ charge headfirst into danger, you ignore it?

Quite a lot.

The Rose Moon is an enchanting, action-packed journey into a world teeming with vampires and magical creatures, centered around the fierce and compelling Piper Santis. From the very first page, the book grips you with its atmospheric world-building and an immersive storyline that blends danger, intrigue, and a touch of mysticism.

Piper is a standout protagonist—strong-willed, resourceful, and deeply layered. Her journey is filled with twists that keep you on edge, especially as she navigates the treacherous world of vampires. The way the supernatural elements intertwine with her personal struggles makes for an addictive read. The supporting cast of magical creatures only adds to the richness of the world, each one bringing their own unique presence to the story.

The writing is vivid and engaging, pulling readers into every dark alley, every moonlit encounter, and every heart-pounding moment. The pacing is spot on, never lagging, always pushing forward with new revelations and high stakes. The relationships—whether tense, romantic, or unexpected—are beautifully crafted, making you truly invested in the characters’ fates.

For anyone who loves supernatural fantasy with a strong heroine, gripping action, and an immersive world filled with magic and danger, The Rose Moon is a must-read. It’s an easy five-star recommendation!

I have so many things to say and yet I feel like it will never be enough. This book sucked me in the moment I picked it up (really though I read this entire thing split between 2 shifts at work).

I love that our FMC is 30 years old, though it still feels like she has a lot of growing and maturing to do, kind of like myself at times. I love the relationships between her and her friends and sister.

Throughout this entire story I couldn’t decide how I felt about Alaric, and I still don’t know. I’m not entirely sure he is the bad guy, and I’m certainly sure he is not the good guy. But still, I like him in some way.

I can honestly say that I will be foaming at the mouth for the next book. I will spend my days constantly stalking the amazing author for updates. I will preorder the next book the second it is available, and for the first time in a long time I feel compelled to purchase the physical book so it’s beauty can rest on my shelves as nothing more than a trophy. (I’m not a book trophy type, at all).

Please read this book.

I want to start by saying that I don’t read a lot of urban fantasy in general. I just find that most urban fantasies take me out of the immersive world. So, as soon as someone pulls out a cell phone. It’s a no from me.

The rose moon is different. The fantasy elements were incorporated seamlessly into the modern setting, and I found the book immersive. Something I really enjoyed was the fact that the FMC is 30 years old and not a damsel! I also found the descriptions of intuitive senses and magic to be somewhat realistic, and I’m excited to see more magic in the next book.

The thing I am most pleased about is the characters. They are all unique, and I sense they all have a depth that we’ve barely scratched the surface of. I’m excited for more novels just so I can spend more time with them. I am so so intrigued by the villain and his henchmen! They were my absolute favorite characters in the book!

Be warned, this does end in a cliffhanger. I don’t mind cliffhangers at all. I actually really love them. But if you are not a fan, perhaps check to make sure the next book is out before you read this one.

All in all that it was a fun read and I will read more from this author.

You've heard me say it before: I love a story that sucks me in so hopelessly deep that I can't stop. Well, I found another urban fantasy to live quite happily in, at least for the last couple of hours. Yeah, I got it BAD for that Master Vampire.

I LOVED THIS. Every twist, every shocking revelation, every...thing. Yeah, everything. The strength of Piper to resist an unavoidable pull, the big familial reveal, it was as spectacular as the rose moon itself. I am already so deeply invested that I can't wait for what comes next. Do yourselves a huge favor, lose yourself in this story and join me!

Ravenheart Rating: 10/10
Spice Factor: Level 0 (but I miiiiight be shipping Piper and Wulff.)

Spoiler alert, there is no spice to this book. Not that that is a bad thing, just if you’re looking for that hot vampire/witch/werewolf/fae etc spicy romance… you won’t find it that deep here. But it was more about the action! Which I loved! Piper Santis is a bad ass but is humbled when she can’t just kick everyone’s ass or when guns are no match. I love the journey she goes through to find out more about herself. I love her loyalty to her friends and there are great characters in this book. I personally loved Wulff, Lyber and Tinny. Congratulations to Alexandra Kolaczek on her first novel! She did a great job!

The Rose Moon had an interesting premise but I did struggle a bit to get into the story. Some parts I struggled with was details not being clear, such as who a person was, or why/what a person's motivations were, etc. I had to keep going back and re-reading and looking things up earlier in the book in order to make sense of what was happening. This made it difficult to have a smooth reading experience.

This book hit the ground running from page 1! The writing just flows in a way that keeps you wanting more.

The FMC is sarcastic and stabby while the MMC gives me Klaus Mikaelson vibes 🔥 Their banter is the chef's kiss!

If you like werewolves, vampires, witches and more, you'll love this fast paced adventure that takes a turn you didn't see coming! I'm already looking forward to seeing what's next in Piper's story.

This book has to be one of the most underrated books of this year. I absolutely LOVED Piper’s story. There was a perfect mix of action, character development and witty humor. Piper was a lovable FMC- relatable, funny, smart and a natural badass. This book is perfect for fans of True Blood, A Discovery of Witches and Crescent City. I cannot wait for the second to come out!

The Rose Moon is a refreshing take on a vampire/witch fantasy. Piper Santis is a relatable, witty badass! I love the creation of her world and that cliff hanger ending! This is a book that I love now and would have loved as a teen!
