The Spiral Symbol: A Psychological Thriller

Rate this book
Unraveling The Spiral Symbol Murders
Clara Kingsley, a wealthy socialite from Emerald Island, was found dead—her body eerily undisturbed, except for the spiral symbol carved into her flesh. A message. A warning. But from whom?

Days later, another victim is found with the same spiral carved on his body. The pattern is undeniable, but the connection remains elusive.

A photograph surfaces, showing Clara and the second victim at a gala hosted by Senator Franz Stein. They were all together just days before their deaths. Coincidence? Or the thread that unravels everything?

Rumors swirl around Stein’s “charitable foundation,” whispers of money funneled into something far darker.

The killer turns his attention to me. Strange packages arrive at my doorstep, and cryptic messages appear inside my house.

Now, I am part of the game. The spiral is sending a bizarre message to me.

Someone is watching, waiting. If I don’t decipher the message soon, I won’t just be hunting a killer—I’ll be his next masterpiece.

The Spiral Symbol: A Psychological Thriller is my first novel by Rose Majors, but it is not her first novel, and I am sure it will not be her last. This fast paced thriller kept me following along, but the characters fell a little flat. I couldn’t connect.

Agent Kitty Forest is on the case of The Spiral Symbol. Body after body appears with the symbol carved into their flesh. Then packages begin to appear at her home. It’s not long before she feels the target on her back. What does the symbol mean?

Both victims were seen at a gala hosted by Senator Franz Stein. Is there a story he wants to keep hidden? Rose Majors does know how to keep the mystery alive.

Even though The Spiral Symbol is not the first Kitty Forest novel, I did not feel lost. But, it does make me want to read her earlier stories.

Kitty is Disappointing

Clara Kingsley was found dead with a spiral symbol carved into her flesh. A message. Days later, another victim is found with the same spiral carved on his body. A photograph surfaces, showing Clara and the second victim at a gala hosted by Senator Franz Stein. They were all together just days before their deaths. Rumors swirl around Stein’s “charitable foundation,” whispers of money funneled into something far darker. The killer turns his attention to me. Strange packages arrive at my doorstep, and cryptic messages appear inside my house. Now, I am part of the game.

The story is well written and has a great plot. There are twists and turns along the way that kept my interest. Some of the characters are solid in that they contribute well to the story - Caldwell and Robin are two of the characters that I really enjoyed.
Issue #1 - But I had issues with the protagonist - Kitty. I found her to be rude, arrogant, insubordinate, mean, condescending, narcissistic, and obnoxious. She whined and complained through most of the book. She discounted anybody’s suggestions because she always knew best. There were a couple of times I wished that some of her stupid decisions would have ended her.
Issue #2 - Why did Kia have to end up being the bad guy in the relationship. He put up with a lot from Kitty and she constantly pushed him aside. It is obvious that all that matters to her is her job and everything else has to take a back seat. If she had any feelings at all she should stay out of relationships because they will never be her priority.
Issue #3 - The ending! It was flat, no real conclusion that left me wanting moreI.
I received this book as an ARC and this is my honest review.

A fantastic psychological thriller that keeps you glued to the pages, totally unputdownable! Agent Kitty Forrest is assigned a new case, the investigation of the death of Clara Kingsley which was totally unusual. It seems the murderer has something unusual to pass along by way of carving a spiral on her body. And then there is another murder with a spiral carved on that body too. In her investigation, she finds political involvement, blackmail, and possible embezzlement and Senator Stein keeps coming up. Is he connected? But can she prove anything? What is the spiral message supposed to convey? As Kitty gets closer, she is warned off with strange packages and cryptic messages left for her. This is a great thriller and I highly recommend it. I can't wait to see what else is in store for Kitty! I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed by me are strictly my own.

I love all things Rose Majors and this does not disappoint; this is the first book in a new psychological series. Agent Kitty Forrest is assigned a new case, with unusual death of Clara Kingsley. Her body was staged and had unusual symbols carved into the body with persission. As the body count rises, so does the possibility of political involvement, blackmail, or embezzlement? Can the body count stop? Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Rose Majors!!!!

A short, quality psychological thriller

The Spiral Symbol is a short, but high quality psychological thriller, revolving around a serial killer who carves a spiral and other symbols into the flesh of the victims. Several times, the reader is likely to believe they know what's going on and who is behind it, there is another twist. I'm highly looking forward to the continuation of the story, as the end is a cliffhanger. 4/5 stars, recommended for anyone interested in a fast paced, twist filled thriller!

Chilling thriller!

An absolutely chilling thriller that totally mesmerized and drew me into the unusual circumstances surrounding the death of Clara Kingsley. As circumstances grow increasingly bizarre, Kitty is drawn further and further into the investigation despite the danger to herself and others. This is a book that is impossible to put down!

I read this book as part of an advance reader team and am voluntarily writing this review.

Agent Kitty Forrest is on an unusual murder case starting with the death of Clara Kinsley with symbols curved on her body. There is a lot going on than it seemed with more gruesome murders, powerful  politician, secrets, threats to make this a chilling and captivating read from the start which is unputdownable. I received this ARC copy  via Booksprouts and recommend this book to other readers.

A women's body is found posed with symbols carved into her flesh. After other bodies are found in the same fashion, it appears to be a message in the carvings. Kitty Forrest has Senator Stein on her radar. He is involved, but can she get the proof needed to convict him. She knows he is involved some how.
A page turning thriller.

This thriller was amazing. It had me questioning everybody. The architect is one very clever person. I still have no clue who is behind it all and why they are doing it. Brilliant read cannot wait for book 2

Kitty is a good agent but the clues to these murders keep leading her to the same person, and he keeps proving his innocence. This book is a real page turner and I found it to be very interesting.
