ഡോക്ടറായ ഐപിഎസ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥൻ അരുൺ ബാലൻ അന്വേഷിച്ച മൂന്ന് കേസുകളാണ് ഈ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. വെറും അപകടമായി തോന്നിയ ഇതൊക്കെ കൊലപാതകം ആണെന്ന് തെളിയിക്കുന്നു.

ഫോറൻസിക് എം ഡി കഴിഞ്ഞു ഐ പി എസ് എടുത്ത കുറ്റാന്വേഷകൻ. അരുൺ ബാലനെന്ന കുറ്റാന്വേഷകന്റെ മൂന്ന് കേസുകൾ "X ജംഗ്ഷൻ, Z ജനറേഷൻ, Y ജീൻ". ഇതിൽ ആദ്യത്തെ രണ്ടെണ്ണം കുറച്ചൊക്കെ ഉദ്വെഗം ജനിപ്പിക്കുന്ന കഥകളായിരുന്നു, അവസാനത്തേത് പെട്ടന്ന് എഴുതി തീർത്തപോലെ ഒരു കഥയായിരുന്നു. 3/5

I went into Friday Forensic Club expecting a gritty, scientifically-backed investigative thriller. Instead, I found a collection of stories that felt more like a textbook lecture than a compelling novel.
What went wrong:
• Clinical and Dry Writing: While the author clearly knows his medical science (being a doctor himself), the writing style is very clinical. The characters feel like cardboard cutouts used merely to explain forensic procedures. There was no emotional depth to the protagonist, Arun Balan, making it hard to care about his success.
• Predictable Plotlines: The book consists of three main cases, but the "twists" aren't particularly surprising. If you are a fan of classic detective fiction, you’ll likely spot the culprits early on. The resolutions often rely more on "convenient" medical evidence rather than clever detective work.
• Format Issues: It’s marketed as a novel, but it feels more like a collection of disjointed short stories or case files. Because of this, there isn't much room for a grand, overarching narrative or character development.
• Pacing: The technical explanations often grind the story to a halt. I enjoy learning about forensics, but I want it woven into the story naturally, not delivered in long info-dumps that kill the tension.
If you are specifically looking to learn about the medical side of crime investigation, this might hold your interest for an hour. But as a novel, it lacks the atmosphere and suspense required to make a thriller truly "thrilling." It’s an informative read, but a boring story.

മലയാള സാഹിത്യത്തിൽ അധികം പരിചിതമല്ലാത്ത ഫോറൻസിക് ത്രില്ലറുകൾ ഉദ്വേഗം നഷ്ടപ്പെടാതെ എഴുതുന്ന ഒരു എഴുത്തുകാരൻ ആണ് രജത് ആർ. അധികം സാമാന്യ വൽക്കരിക്കപെടാത്ത ഒരു ജോണർ ആയതിനാൽ തന്നെ ഈ വിഭാഗത്തിൽ പെടുന്ന നോവലുകളുടെ എണ്ണം മലയാളത്തിൽ താരതമ്യേന കുറവാണ്. ഫോറൻസിക് ശാസ്ത്രത്തിൽ താത്പര്യമുള്ളവർക്ക് കൂടുതൽ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്ന രീതിയിൽ ആണ് രജത് തൻറെ കൃതികളെ വായനക്കാർക്ക് മുന്നിൽ അവതരിപ്പിക്കാറുള്ളത്. ഈ കൃതിയും വ്യത്യസ്തമല്ല.

മൂന്ന് കഥകൾ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലും മൂന്നാമത്തേത് മറ്റ് രണ്ടെണ്ണത്തിനേ അപേക്ഷിച്ച് വിസ്താര ഭയത്താൽ ചുരുക്കിയത് പോലെ തോന്നി. വ്യക്തിപരമായി എനിക്ക് ഒരുപാട് ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട ഒരു പുസ്തകം തന്നെ ആണ് ഫ്രൈഡേ ഫോറൻസിക് ക്ലബ്ബ്. ഒരുപാട് പുതിയ അറിവുകൾ കൂടി ലഭിച്ചു എന്നുള്ളത് ഒരു ബോണസ് ആയി ഞാൻ കരുതുന്നു. വളരെ ക്രിയാത്മകമായി ആണ് എഴുത്തുകാരൻ ഈ കൃതിയെ സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത് എന്നുള്ളത് എനിക്ക് കൂടുതൽ ഇഷ്ടമായി. കഥകളുടെ പേര് പോലും വളരെ രസകരമായി , X Junction, Z Generation, Y Gene എന്നിങ്ങനെ ആണ് അദ്ദേഹം അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്. മലയാളത്തിൽ അന്വേഷണ നോവലുകളുടെ ഒരു കുത്തൊഴുക്ക് കാണുന്ന ഈ കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ ആ കൂട്ടത്തിലെ ഒരു എണ്ണം പറഞ്ഞ മികച്ച സൃഷ്ടി തന്നെ ആണ് ഈ പുസ്തകം എന്ന് നിസ്സംശയം പറയാം. ഇതിന് മുന്നേ വായിച്ച രജത്തിൻ്റെ ആദ്യകാല കൃതികളെക്കാൾ എനിക്ക് ഇഷ്ടം ആയത് ഇത് തന്നെ ആണ്. ത്രില്ലർ genre എന്നും പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടവയാണ്... അതിൽ ഏറ്റവും പ്രിയം മെഡിക്കൽ തില്ലറുകൾ.... ഒരു കേസ് തെളിയിക്കുന്നതിൽ ഫോറൻസിക് വിഭാഗം എത്രയേറെ പ്രാധാന്യം ഏറിയതാണെന്ന് ആദ്യമായി അറിയുന്നത് Dr B ഉമാദത്തൻ സാറിൻ്റെ " ഒരു പോലീസ് സർജൻ്റെ ഓർമ്മക്കുറിപ്പുകൾ " എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തിലൂടെയാണ്....
ആ ഒരിഷ്ടമാണ് " ഫ്രൈഡേ ഫോറൻസിക് ക്ലബ്" എടുക്കാൻ എന്നെ പ്രേരിപ്പിച്ചത്.... രജത് സാറിൻ്റെ "ബോഡി ലാബ് " എന്ന പുസ്തകം തേടിയാണ് ചെന്നതെങ്കിലും ഇത് കണ്ടപ്പോൾ കൗതുകം തോന്നി...
ഓരോ കേസും എങ്ങനെയാണ് തെളിയിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് കൗതുകത്തോടെയും ആകാംക്ഷയോടെയും ആണ് വായിച്ചത്...

ആദ്യം പോലീസ് സർജൻ ആയിരുന്ന ഒരു വ്യക്തി ഐപിഎസ് ആയാൽ എങ്ങനെയാകും അയാൾ താൻ പഠിച്ച കാര്യങ്ങൾ വച്ച് ഓരോ കേസും കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യുക , ഓരോ ചെറിയ തെളിവും കൃത്യമായി നോക്കിക്കാണുക എന്നതിന് ഉദാഹരണമാണ് Dr അരുൺ ബാലൻ ഐപിഎസ്....
X ജംഗ്ഷൻ, Z ജനറേഷൻ,Y ജീൻ എന്നിങ്ങനെ മൂന്നു ഭാഗങ്ങളായി, 3 കേസുകളാണ് നോവലിൽ...
നോവലിലെ പിജി വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളെപ്പോലെ എത്രയും ആകാംക്ഷയോടെയാണ് ഡോക്ടർ ടോണി ഓരോ കേസും പറഞ്ഞത് വായിച്ചത്.... നിലാവലി കേസ് എന്ന, ചർച്ച പൂർത്തിയാകാതെ പോയ കേസിൻ്റെ ത്രെഡിൽ നോവൽ പര്യവസാനിക്കുന്നു... ഉദ്വേഗ ജനകമായ ഒരു വായനാനുഭവം ആയിരുന്നുവെന്ന് പറയാതെ വയ്യ 😌...

ഫ്രൈഡേ ഫോറൻസിക് ക്ലബ്

പുറം ചട്ടയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള വാക്കുകൾ " ആ അനുഭൂതി ഒന്ന് വേറെ തന്നെയാണ്. ന്യായരഹിതമായ ലോകത്തു നീതി ലഭിക്കുന്നവന്റെ അനുഭൂതി". രജത് R , എഴുത്തിൽ ഒരു സ്റ്റാൻഡേർഡ് വെച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. റിസർച്ച് എല്ലാം ചെയ്തു കോർത്തിണക്കിയവ. ആള് ഒരു ഡോക്ടർ ആയതിന്റെ കൃത്യത എല്ലാത്തിലും ഉണ്ട് എന്നും പറയാം.

ഫൊറൻസിക് അധ്യാപകരും വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളും ചേർന്നു എല്ലാ വെള്ളിയാഴ്ചകളിലും നടത്തുന്ന ഒരു ഡിസ്കഷൻ ക്ലബ്. ( വായിക്കുമ്പോൾ ശെരിക്കും മനസിലാകും ഇതിനു പിന്നിലെ കഥ).. ഒരു ഡോക്ടർ അദ്ദേഹം പങ്കെടുത്തിട്ടുള്ള 3 അന്വേഷങ്ങളെ പറ്റി സംസാരിക്കുന്നു. ഓരോ ഫോറൻസിക് ഡോക്ടർ IPS എടുത്താൽ കേസ് or കേസുകൾ തെളിയിക്കാൻ എന്തൊക്കെ സ്‌റ്റെപ്സ് ഇടാം.

മറ്റൊരു സിംഗിൾ സിറ്റിംഗ് സിമ്പിൾ റീഡ്. ( കിളി പോകുന്ന ട്വിസ്റ്റുകളും ഉണ്ടെട്ടോ )

Thriller tales always attract people. Like that this book also attracted me. What happens when an forensic surgeon becomes an IPS officer, that was the plot of this book. The author implemented the way of telling the story like mr.holmes and Watson ( the characters in the novel series Sherlock Holmes). In my point of view their friendship was in little bit secretive mode. But everyone knows that too. It was little confusing otherwise it could be more descriptive in some points. Point to point thriller experience.

A thoroughly enjoyable and different type of detective fiction from malayalam. The investigating officer is a forensic doctor and IPS officer at the same time. He uses his intellect and technical brilliance in a logical way to solve various cases .
