Witchlight Magical Mysteries #3

Secrets of the Eternal Flame

Rate this book
Magic is in my blood, but trouble is in my bones.

I thought tracking down an Eternal Flame would be the hardest part of this trip. Turns out, I was wrong. Between a hidden magical village, a smug lake monster, and a high priestess who may or may not hold the key to fixing my mistakes, I’m starting to think I should have stayed in bed.

But I don’t have that luxury. My magic is growing stronger by the day, but it’s volatile, and if I don’t get a grip, I won’t just lose control - I’ll lose everything.

Kaz’s life hangs by a thread, the fire I was born to protect is fading, and now, to top it off, magical objects are vanishing from under our noses. A stolen grimoire, a missing goblet, and a determined old goblin convinced there’s a thief on the loose… and somehow, I’m the one tasked with solving the mystery.

Then there’s Fraser, steadfast, infuriatingly level-headed, and always there when I need him. He’s been by my side through all of this, even when I’ve given him every reason to walk away. But with my past catching up to me and my future in the balance, I can’t afford any distractions - especially not the kind that makes my heart race.

If I don’t prove myself worthy of the Flame, everything I’ve fought for - my family’s legacy, my magic, and possibly my own soul - could be lost forever.

No pressure, right?
Perfect for fans of strong heroines, lovable animal sidekicks, and heart-racing urban fantasy, Secrets of the Forgotten Heir delivers action, charm, and supernatural surprises. With stand-alone mysteries, sharp humour, and a swoon-worthy slow-burn romance spanning the series, it’s an unmissable treat.

Simply splendid writing, once again I'm at a loss for sufficient adjectives. I was totally engrossed and hated seeing the end is in sight, but kept on gobbling every twist and surprise coming. The couch moment they walked into coming back from the Eternal Flame search, had me in doubled up, laughing out loud. Frazer naming his pot plants after actors where quite original. Bea finally calling Ernie Grandad was so touching. I suspect, no holding thumbs we will see more of Lestat and Maddie, especially after his statement towards the end. The case of the Calix Sanare and the Codebrae hyped up the tension not to forget Beatrix's phyco grandmother who's still a lurking threat to be dealt with. Eva steals my heart every time. Admitting unashamedly the ending had me in tears of happiness.
I received an advanced review copy and leave this review voluntary. Thank you so much Heather and Ella.

I really love Bea's group of found family and friends. Nour, Maddie, Ezra, Ernie, and Yanni are all really interesting characters in their own right, and I would be happy to one day have a spin-off series for Nour or Maddie. I also think Lestat is going to be an interesting addition to this dynamic.

Fraser and Bea are also making strides toward a real relationship, and who could forget the adorable Eva, the best friend a girl could ask for??

I did have my suspicions about the person who ended up involved in the crime, although I couldn't pinpoint why I felt that way. I was also right about what the Flame wanted to take, and I couldn't be happier about that!

*I received an eARC from the author. Thanks! All opinions are my own.

ARC received via authors' arc team

Everything came together in this episode. The characters feel bedded in and the story was well paced and fluid. There were some elements of the plot that were solved a little too easily but this is personal taste, not a flaw. I’ve even got quite fond of Fraser. Great fun. I look forward to what the series does next.

I just can’t get enough of this series!

We start by Beatrix and Co searching for another eternal flame to try and help her rediscover her flame.

Beatrix learns more about what it takes to be a guardian of the flame and what her mum and dad were unable to each her.

Family and friendship ties deepen and all members of this group are discovering that they need to open up to become the best version of themselves.

I don’t want to say any more as I don’t want to spoil it for readers who not delved into this one yet but you will not be disappointed!

Another great book!

This is book 3 and I had high hopes for it after reading the previous book. I wanted to see Bea and her grandfather connect and begin to build a relationship. I wanted to see Bea and Fraser get to know one another and be friends and possibly more. I wanted to see Bea interact with her friends Maddie and Ezra and strengthen those friendships, as well as grow her friendship with Nour.

Everything I wanted to see in this book did happen, plus the fun mystery of the missing cup and grimoire.

I received a free copy of this book from the authors.

With her powers burgeoning, Bea can no longer put off her destiny. She just has to locate it, and apparently it is playing a magical game of hide and seek. In the meantime, a new mystery begs to be solved involving a goblin and some seriously dark artifacts. But don't worry, she still makes some time for the blossoming romance with the swoon worthy selkie, and her canine sidekick is there to save the day.

Prepare for a full range of feels from romance and laughter to sadness, rage, and guilt. All the feels.

I think this is such an entertaining series. I also think I like this and the Portlock series the best so far for this author.

Even though this seems to be filler, it does such a huge amount to move the story forward, provide us with some answers to some worrying situations that now need to be solved and put everything to where it should be.

We see development of Bea’s powers, her relationships with both Fraser and Ernie progress in a beautiful and satisfying direction. We see the deepening of trust in friendships, old and new. Most importantly we learn more about the Eternal Flame and how Bea can revive it.

This was also an amusing installment with a burgeoning relationship between two lovely and lonely characters. The way that was discovered had me guffawing in my car while driving. Very comforting and homey series that I’m enjoying so much. The way the authors handle grief, guilt, and family whether born into or found in such an endearing way that I never want this series to end.

Beatrix has come home, rekindled friendships and found some new friends as well. Her friends help her look for another eternal flame to see if she can figure out why hers went away. Her potential mate Fraser is distracting her but the love he offers is just what she needs. He has won Eva over for sure but will he win Bea? Hopefully she can crack her latest case, find her eternal flame, get to know her grandfather, decide about Fraser all before her grandmother comes back! Wow

I've actually had to just sit & absorb those final sentences, I've said it multiple times, but the pure magic that is the talent of Heather G Harris & Ella Stone transforms into some kind of literary megazord when put together

Beatrix & friends are on the hunt

"My magic is growing stronger by the day, but it’s volatile, and if I don’t get a grip, I won’t just lose control—I’ll lose everything. A vampire’s life hangs by a thread, the fire I was born to protect is fading, and now, to top it off, magical objects are vanishing from under our noses. A stolen grimoire, a missing goblet, and a determined old goblin convinced there’s a thief on the loose… and somehow, I'm the one tasked with solving the mystery"

This book & characters are **chefs kiss** 👌🏻 perfection. There's just so much heart between these pages (& a few other things, poor Maddie 🤣😂) The characters are brilliantly written, flaws & all! There's something for everyone from action to Zany conversing with a dog... drama, fight scenes, revelations, discoveries, sofas, Ice creams, books, family dynamics, romance, secrets & plot twists that make you destroy your nails

By far the best one yet.

I had to take a break and process after I finished reading it, and then I had to read it again to really let it all sink in.

This book had me hooked from page one. At first I was confused why we were coming in while they were out and about - but it all made sense shortly after.

I couldn't stop laughing when they got back home and walked inside. Maddie's reaction was perfect.

The whole story was good from start to finish. There was some good mystery. Some good tension. Some great writing. I laughed and I sobbed. The feelings were many through out the whole novel. 10/10 will read again

Finally, after weeks of hunting down another Eternal Flame, the team can feel one...but the revelations that come from this encounter put Bea into a spin! See, she has a huge problem with commitment, the forever kind of commitment, because, well, forever IS a long time.... and what she learns about the Flame, shoot, bombshell! I love the determination of Bea, even though she's riddled with uncertainty and guilt, it's a real fear. She has been through so much the past 10 years, so much she's tried to "forget" but it keeps coming back to bite her in the rear. Her magic is all over the place, strong, unpredictable... watching her come to terms with it, accepting it, understanding it, well shoot! Awesome! There is much to love about this book and series, much to love and want to gush about, but I'll try, operative word TRY to contain myself....

I love how these two authors carry me through the story, like I'm riding a wave, the excitement ramped up with each book, each book cresting higher and higher and just before I think it's going to explode into a tsunami, they ease off, calming the waters once more. And that ending??? Flip, flop, flap, I was STUNNED!!!! They take the characters and elevate them, illuminating them brightly, irradiating them with awesomeness! My goodness, ALL the characters delve deeply into my heart, taking up permanent residence....Eva, Bea's doggie, is coolness on four legs and good golly is she a special doggie! I adore Ernie, the lengths he goes through internally, the warmth he exudes for Bea, only make me want to hug him. And Yanni, no nonsense Yanni, a second mum come grandma to Bea, is totally unflappable, love her to bits. And my word, Lestat is so cool, assassin vamp or not! And that's how I in deep, I'm in awe at how these authors give depth to all their characters, a unique identity to all.

I absolutely love the twists, the not knowing where I'm going to land, like Ernie and Yanni, OMG was THAT scene hilarious!!!! Yeah, you need to read it but I promise you'll be in fits of laughter! This book is chock a block action, first the encounter with Adele, another guardian of a Flame, then the ummmm ... Ernie and Yanni thing, then the internal turmoil Bea is facing, you know, "find the flame, find out what her heart wants" etc. Just as I was settling in comfortably, yes, you guessed it, they put up smoke screen after smoke screen, and by the time I got clear, it took another turn, one of a mysterious disappearance of a cup and a book.... titillating, teasing, they have a knack for turning the innocuous, the unassuming into a mind spinning, throw me off scent "I didn't see that coming!" until they DO reveal whodunnit and I'm gobsmacked!

Geez is Fraser a hunk and a half! Patient, considerate, caring, protective, helpful, fierce, strong, unobtrusive and oh so gorgeous to boot! He's just so.... nice! How many guys leave a bag full of known "remedies" after HIS girl has a girls night out with a note "To help with your hangovers"? Yes, he's definitely IT in a man! And he's definitely having a major effect on Bea, the slow burn is ready to combust. That dinner date was...sumptuous... Gosh do I enjoy the banter between them, sharp, witty, tantalising. She sure has come a long way since returning to Witchlight Cove, she's grown, she puts others before herself now, no more running away (her go to mode), now she is all in, all in to help Maddie, all in to try develop a relationship with Ernie, even dabbling in a bit of matchmaking, all in to make new friends. Like she has with Nour. The more I read of her, the more I love her.

There are such poignant heartfelt moments in this book, Maddie thinking she'd never find love, Bea's unbearable guilt that had her running away, the fear of letting someone in. Also there was a jaw dropped, hair raising scene when she recounts her "experience" with her grandmother, well shoot, there was a vice around my heart! Oh lordie was that intense! And horrifying! And I'll mention the ending again... JUST OMG!!! I think this is probably the best book in the series for me.... awesome, amazing, astonishing!

The story starts with Beatrix and her friends on the hunt for another Eternal Flame, in the hopes that the Guardian of that flame can help them to return their own Eternal Flame to Witchlight Cove. The trip definitely helped to strengthen some bonds between them, especially between Bea and Fraser and Nour and Ezra. When they finally reach the Guardian, some shocking secrets are revealed sending Bea into a bit of a tailspin. Upon returning home, a surprise new couple is revealed leading to a great laugh out loud moment, well maybe not for poor Maddie. When Bea is hired to look into a theft of a seemingly innocuous cup and grimoire, she soon finds that the items are far more powerful and dangerous than she was first led to believe. With the help of her loyal and extraordinary pet sidekick, Eva, Bea must find the thief before the cup and grimoire end up in the wrong hands. Meanwhile, Bea is trying to find a way to coax the Eternal Flame to reappear which results in a good amount of introspection as Bea tries to figure out what’s really important to her.
I’ve really come to love this series and Bea is a great protagonist. Watching her struggle through all of her growing pains and revealed secrets regarding her family, just make her that much more relatable. I love how Bea and Fraser’s romance is developing. He is so patient and kind and really supports Bea through everything. I’m also loving the developing relationship between Bea and her grandfather as he finally shares some hard truths with her, leading her to a much better understanding of him. Eva is definitely a stand out character for me so smart and loyal with a touch of something magical and she’s definitely the perfect sidekick for Bea.
This series is written with so much heart, giving us characters that I have come to love so much! This book has a little of everything: great character development and world building, action, romance, humor, a twisty mystery, an adorable pet sidekick and a bit of a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to see what these two authors have in store for us next!

Bea is finally getting to search for clues as to what happened to the Eternal Flame. Bea and the gang have made it to Scotland in search of another Guardian who can help her. But when she finds the Guardian, she finds out just how volatile her own power is. Once they are all back in Witchlight Cove, Bea takes on a new case of magical items going missing from a tourist shop run by a goblin. Bea must find these items before they end up in the hands of her evil grandmother?
Bea has all kinds of trials throughout this book. She knows what she needs to do to try to get the flame back, but she is not sure she is able to. She also must learn to rein in her emotions so she can keep her powers in check. She is also still trying to figure out where she is with Fraser as well. But she has some good times as well! There is still Eva, Maddie, Ezra and Nour to help her as well. There is even a laugh so hard you almost cry moment with Yanni as well. And she is growing her relationship with her newfound grandfather as well.
There are some new side characters in this book as well getting to know some of the others more as well. I love that Sonny has had a change in personality after the last book. Plus, with Bea getting to know more about Ernie, we are learning a lot about him as well. Nour and Maddie get to bond over their pasts as well. Despite the craziness going on around all of them, they still find time for themselves and taking care of themselves.
There is still plenty of suspense in this book as well. With another case to solve, Bea is rushing around trying to not only figure out who has the stolen items but how to destroy them if she needs to. The entire book kept me guessing again! I had a sneaking suspicion about a certain character but was only half right! And the help Bea gets at the end was totally unexpected! And now that things are starting to come together in Witchlight Cove, I am anxious to see what will happen next.

Just brilliant! The storyline, the characters, the feels - this book has it in abundance! The world-building and character development is superb. Both authors are major writing forces in their own right but when combined they’ve given the most powerful story of found family, burgeoning relationships along with a helping of murd3r and mystery.
It’s lovely to things progressing for Bea, both in her tentative relationships with Fraser and her grandfather, and with her feelings for Witchlight Cove. We get to journey along with Bea, Eva, Fraser and friends to other magical villages in their quest for how to restore the Eternal Flame. Bea learns a lot about her developing magic, how the flames work with their guardians, and discovers the meaning of her Mother’s enigmatic final words to her - “trust what it takes”.
On returning home Bea takes on a new case involving the theft of some magical artefacts from a local store, run by a very grumpy goblin. Along the way there are other intrigues to resolve, plans to be made with the new White Wine Coven, plus a couple of new relationships to discover. Bea also finally recounts the events which lead to her parents’ deaths - the day her grandmother ‘visited’ Witchlight Cove.
Secrets of the Eternal Flame is endearing, heartbreaking and hilarious but, above all, it’s a stunningly good story - and well worth reading the previous books in the series too.

This is the third installment in the series and each book has been better than the one before so this one IS AMAZING!!!!

The authors have really found the pocket with these characters. There's been some lovely character growth in the earlier stories and the payoff now is the delight of seeing relationships developing in the best way. Green flags everywhere! Friendships firming up, family connections growing and several beautiful romantic pairings all make for warm, fuzzy reading. But that's not to say there aren't bad guys lurking around corners, waiting to bring some conflict into each book.

Understated humour has been a welcome and consistent part of each story for me. I love the funny one liners that are tossed about to switch moods or add spark. In this book there are a couple of scenes that cracked me up, as the authors took their comedic writing skills and let them run wild with classic results!

The ending blew me away, in the best, most heartwarming possible way, and I really need to see that developed in future books. I hope a lot of people pick up this series and fall in love with it, so Ms Harris and Ms Stone create more wonderful stories of Witchlight Cove. I definitely recommend this book to fans of UF who like real depth to their characters.

This series has got better with each book. It has been great to see the emotional growth of the central character Beatrix, something that becomes central to the eternal flame hunt, as well as see her powers develop too. There are also some laugh out loud funny/cringe sections as well as some sentimental tear-jerking ones.

Though this book completes the story arc around the eternal flame hunt and ties up most of the loose ends it has left me hoping there will be more in this world as I have really come to love these characters, especially Eva the dog, and there is so much potential to tell stories that answer more questions - especially where is the evil grandmother and what is she up to! Thankfully, Book 3 picks up the end of Book 2, so we aren't kept waiting that long for the answers that enquiring minds need to know. And speaking of knowledge, Bea learns so much more about eternal flames, all the things she never knew when she was growing up with a flame as a housemate. She also learns more about Fraser, that irresistable shifter, all whilst working on solving the latest mystery: the disappearance of a magical cup and grimoire that may or may not actually be missing. Yes, you read that right. Was it really stolen or did its goblin owner just misplace it? The latter is a possibility, but Bea is on the case nevertheless.

Of course, the case isn't as simple nor as safe as it seems. Once again, Bea is in danger. On the plus side, she has built up support in Witchlight Cove and has back up. On the negative side, she doesn't want any of her friends to come to harm, and there still are people in the village who want to thwart her. Bea learns more lessons in this novel; she continues to grow as a character, as a detective, and as a woman with magic. She also understands more about about what is needed to be a guardian of an eternal flame, and, as usual, there's a cliffhanger at the end to keep us on tenterhooks for her next adventure.

Please, Heather and Ella, keep 'em coming!

I loved this latest book in this series! With the Eternal Flame is missing, Beatrix Stonehaven and her friends have embarked on a journey around Britain to try and find another Eternal Flame and another Guardian with the hopes that the Guardian will have some idea on how to restore the Witchlight. Luckily Bea gets some answers this time. But how will those same answers make the Flame return?

Bea takes on a case upon her return to find two very powerful items, which could lead to disaster if they fell into the wrong hands. She fears that her evil dark sorceress grandmother is making a return, but is Bea strong enough this time to stand up against her? She now needs to find the thief, find and magical items and hope she can do it all before her grandmother gets ahold of them!

I loved the relationship between Bea and her friends - they are all so close and love the idea of the Witch Wine Coven! Just what the girls needs! Bea's chosen family is definitely growing and now she is starting to feel like Witchlight Cover is her home again, maybe things will change for her!

Fraser seems like the perfect man as well - I really do this relationship works out for them both too!

Looking forward to reading the next book in this series when it comes out! Such a great, fun read with lots of mystery, lots of friendship love, lots of family love and lots of romantic love too!

There are reasons I don’t usually read unfinished series and this book is one of them. I don’t want to wait for the next installment. This is such a good book and series and I get impatient.
Bea and friends have just finished a trip to Scotland to find another Eternal Flame where Bea gets some help and more questions.
Upon getting home, the first thing they come across is Ernie and Yanni getting together on Bea’s couch. This sets up a whole humourous situation but you have to feel for both Ernie and Yanni, finally finding someone but it makes family a bit uncomfortable. Just great.
When some items are stolen (maybe not – could be a memory problem) Bea gets involved in helping an old goblin. It seems at least two of the missing items are powerful magical items.
There is a good mystery, the great characters, the romance between Bea and Frasier is growing wonderfully, the relationship between Bea and Ernie is getting stronger and there are hints that the Flame is still hanging around.
I was sort of surprised at the ending, I sort of figured who had done it but the ending never entered my mind.
This was a great, easy, quick, enjoyable read.
I’m looking forward to the next book.
And although there are still books to come in this series I would recommend it any time.

I am loving this collaboration of Heather G. Harris and Ella Stone. Both of them are awesome authors on their own but their blending of their work together has been very exciting, edge of my seat and page turning instead of sleeping.

The continuing saga of Beatrix, raised to be the Guardian of the Eternal Flame without the use of her witchy powers, which have not come to the surface yet, has been very trying for Bea. She was summoned back to her home town by her best friend, after the death of her parents and unbeknownst to her, the flame has gone missing. Bea returns and struggles with all the emotions, guilt and failures she is feeling from being gone for 10 years.

She started off answering phones for the local police officer, who happens to be her best friends grandmother, but then after a couple of murders in town, Bea transitions into her former private investigator hat and injects herself into solving them. Could they be related to the deaths of her parents who was murdered by her own grandmother? Were the deaths her fault? With the help of some new found friends, family and a hunky selkie, Bea jumps right in feet first.

Yet another installment of this series I have a hard time putting down!
An evil grimoire made from human skin, a power amplifying/healing goblet have been stolen and Bea’s on the case while still trying to find the missing eternal flame. Can Bea find another guardian to help, can she bond to the flame, can she tame her powers, or will she cause a disaster?
Searching for a missing sentient flame, controlling growing powers, finding missing dark artifacts, finding out her evil grandmother is still alive, all in a day in the life for Bea. As the third in the series, it stands well on its own, but the others are fantastic, and I’d recommend reading them as well. Watching Bea grow and learn as a person is truly amazing. She is such a well written character I feel I know her. The story has unpredictable twists and turns and leaves you awaiting the next volume. Eva is such a character to fall in love with as well as Fraser. The openness and sharing of the characters are wonderful to read.

As an ARC reader one of my favorite days is when a new Witchlight Magical Mystery arrives. This time we begin with Beatrix and the crew scouring the country to find a guardian of the flame to help with their small no-flame issue. They receive some help in Scotland and head back home to try to make things work. Bea also has a new case working for a goblin owner of a magical used items store in town. Seems she has a thief and some small trinkets are missing. Except a little digging and Bea finds the items are not trinkets but powerful magical items which can wreak havoc in the wrong hands. So the game is afoot and the flame is still kaput and the only thing that she can think of is her new beau Fraser and the way he kisses and how she feels when she thinks of him and oh man is she falling for him hard or what? She eventually solves the case and seems to solve the flame issue as well and it seems everything is good in the world, well good in Witchlight at least for now. I really hope there is more and more to come from these two fab authors!

The 3rd book in this cosy paranormal crime series has some great development in the relationships. I especially liked the progression of Bea & Fraser's romance and Bea's growing bond with her long lost Grandpa. And the White Wine Coven is great too. Love to see those healthy female friendships. In this one Bea's crime solving talents are put to use hunting down some missing or is it stolen ?? objects with scary powers for a crotchety old goblin shopkeeper with memory issues. I guessed who the thief was from very early but it was still fun to follow along with Bea as she searches, although I was cross she didn't take back up with her to an obvious trap (ok it was only obvious to us readers and just possibly a trap for Bea). It ends most satisfyingly for those of us who have been with Bea on her journey from the beginning.

I received an ARC from the author but all views expressed are my own.

Ok, where to begin firstly this book gave me a lot of the development I wanted with Bea and other characters, her relationship with literally everyone improved and was given more depth.

The main storyline running through the books definitely progressed in this one which was great.

The mystery (or case) in this book only really started about halfway through so I didn't find myself overly invested like normal. I guessed who did it early on, then I got totally annoyed at Bea who walked into a trap (knowing it was most likely a trap) without taking any back up with her. So we had a lot of growth from her, developed her friendships relationships and got her to realise its her home, then she turned around and does something stupid which undid her character development for me somewhat. She's supposed to be a mid to late 20's seasoned PI.

Overall I enjoyed the book for the overall story development, hopefully she will make smarter choices in the next one.

This one was exciting!

This third book in the series was a quick and exciting read. It’s action packed and we get lots more clues about the Flame and Bea’s connection to it. We also are left with plenty of mysteries and problems to be solved in the next book.

There is a lot happening here as Bea gets a new case to solve involving missing dangerous artifacts, is trying to figure out how to control her growing powers, and looks for answers about the Flame. Plus she’s trying to reconcile her growing feelings for Fraser.

It was compelling reading and I didn’t want to put it down as lots of things were going on. There were some TSTL moments which always seriously annoy me. The climactic moment is one of them but Bea does some quick thinking.

A character from book two returns and looks like he’s going to be around for a while and that may prove interesting. Looking forward to book four though unfortunately it’s almost a year away!

Bea and her friends are on the hunt for information on how to retrieve the Witchlight Cove Eternal Flame and have been searching for another Guardian to help Bea figure out what she has to do to bring it back.
However Bea has another worry as well one that could potentially put her home and residents in danger, before the Nightshades left the leader informed Bea that her power hungry grandmother everyone thought was dead is still very much alive and most likely will be returning to finish her task of taking the flames power for herself.
Soon she finds herself taking on a case to find some stolen items from a local shopkeeper although it soon turns out that there is more to two of the missing items than the others, and both could cause lots of problems not just for the shop owner but also for the town should Bea's worst fear her Grandmother turn up to claim them.

Secrets of the Eternal Flame was an excellent read as always. Heather G Harris and Ella Stone's writing compliments each other and it's evident in this series as it just goes from strength to strength. I love how the main storyline is progressing and the development of the Eternal Flame is one that I've been on tender hooks waiting for, So this novel felt so satisfying to me.
I love Bea, her character develops more and more in each book and I love how her relationship with Frazer is progressing. I love all the characters in this series. I really enjoyed getting engrossed in this novel and all the twists and revelations that we got, I was surprised by each and everyone of them. The mystery surrounding the missing magical items and the dead body really kept the story fresh but the underlying plotline of the eternal flame has me hooked. I must admit a sense of excitement encased me as our little group started feeling their eternal flame again, I really was hooked to read the outcome and I'm loving this journey.

I ADORED this book. I'm a massive Heather G Harris fan, and this series with Ella Stone hasn't disappointed. This instalment is definitely my favourite so far. Beatrix is searching for the Eternal Flame, and a new case falls into her lap at the same time. The fictional town of Witchlight is described so beautifully that you can picture it with ease, and the characters are so vibrantly written that it's like you know them well. This book sees relationships developing and maturing, leaving you feeling absolute joy. Whilst there is a lot of serious content, the underlying humour that comes from Harris and Stone's dual authorship gives cause for giggles - "buddy" had me absolutely snorting. The ending was fantastic, and I'm glad it doesn't mean the end of the Witchlight Magical Mysteries series as I've fallen in love with these characters and their home town.

I love discovering new authors that really hit the sweet spots for me in my reading genres, and this writing duo has done that. This is the third book in the series, and I just love all the characters, settings, and the plot. In this latest, Bea and everyone is searching for answers about the flame, and they finally arrive at a village…I’d like to get to know them as well…and get some answers. I love how not only are we entertained by a mystery, but we are entertained with friendship, growing, family, and just so much more. I can’t wait to see more from this characters and that this series goes on for many more books. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
