Caleb has always had a special way with women, but for some reason, three years things got really weird. There's something dark lurking inside me, and I just can't explain it.
When I am with a woman, something happens, I can't explain it, and I can't control it.
I don't know why, but they just don't leave the way they come in. Actually, they don't leave at all.
And as for me, I can feel the power flowing through me after, and honestly, it's just intoxicating.
It's then that he meets Talia. She's a strong, fiery, capable redhead who refuses to fall for any of my charms or at least my attempts to charm her, and there's nothing he can do to get her out of his head. Even though she's so different from any other woman he's ever known, he feels like he knows her, or at least she feels familiar, and he's obsessed with her. And then he finds out that she's obsessed with him too. She's even gone as far as to get a pillow with his face on it, and now he HAS to know why.
Talia knows that Caleb doesn't remember her, but she remembers everything. In their past life, he was hers, and she was his, and they were together. And even though he loved her, or at least that's what he said, he still destroyed her. So, she cursed him, like any ex-girlfriend who had been left devastated, left broken and alone and yet still with some self-respect. She didn't want him to ever enjoy another woman's company again, and she wanted to ensure that he never slept with another woman EVER again.
She really should feel like she had won. She had come back to make him pay the final price, and she wanted to make him suffer, and yet now she finds that she herself is actually the one who is actually trapped. She despises him for what he did to her, and yet, despite their past, despite everything that's happened, she can't deny that she is still drawn to him just like in the past. And that could actually be more deadly than any curse out there.
She wanted to ruin his life and ensure that he spent the rest of his life alone. She never wanted to end up back in his bed. For a second time.
Had she not learned her lesson the first time?
Aria Devon is sick and twisted, and I love it, I don't know where she gets her ideas, and honestly, I absolutely love it. She is so amazing at crafting these stories that leave you wondering what the heck did I just read? What? How? Who? I absolutely love Aria Devon and her books.
How Not To Curse Your Ex, I'm still reeling from reading this book. It is a roller-coaster ride of mixed up suspense.
The easiest way to explain the reason that it is so mixed up is because of the witch that set the curse up and put it all in motion to begin with. Talia is honestly a hot mess in her own right. It's really hard to say what her real motivation is. I am still trying to figure that out. I am still trying to figure out if she really wanted revenge or forgiveness.
Caleb, on the other hand, is a disgusting pig in all the ways you would think, and honestly, the curse Talia put on him, I kind of think he deserved it and needed to be alone. He is absolutely toxic and a womanizer.
In the end, I came to the conclusion that they really deserved reach other. And they deserve the uncertain future that comes with that.
There are so many twists and turns in this book, and some of the them you'll never see coming, and honestly, I'm still trying to figure out what the original betrayal 3 years ago was. You get to see Caleb get a few of his memories back, Leanne's story is different, and then you soon realize that Talia's perspective doesn't match up to either Caleb or Leanne's stories. It's all just a jumbled, interesting mess.
Now, you have to know that this is a dark romance, but this is not the typical dark romance that you get. This is a fun, sick, twisted, dark romance that is one of a kind.
