A clean amish romance story.
A bookshop courtship .

A small town romance, sometimes things happen in your past. That make you want to get rid of everything memories and all.
But along the way some memories you just want to keep in your heart forever. jesse kaufman has choices to make.

Fannie fraud
A young amish girl living with her aunt and uncle, they just want to see her happy and married. The choices they make are not what fanny has in mind. the courtship she wants is to fall in love with someone of her own choice. to fall in love for love, not to be a mam instantly.

Simply a sweet story, patricia johns writes amazing stories. And i've loved every book i've read of hers. The amish stories are simply just sweet.

This book starts as a comfy, cozy fake relationship with a lot of warm Christmas reflections. I do not handle comfy, cozy well, normally. But everything changed as I got further into the book. I could not stop thinking about how love is work, sacrifice, and compromise.

Jesse is a little infuriating. He knows he’s supposed to forgive, it’s what his religion teaches, it’s what God teaches, but he flat out refuses. His unforgiveness pulls him away from everything and leaves him isolated. Fannie struggles with her calling and purpose, but she knows what she doesn’t want, and that’s to be pushed into marriage. Her love of books and her determination to shape her own future made her easy to connect with.

Honestly, I was struggling with this book at first. But then an epiphany hit about my relationship with God and how that relationship impacts how we interact with others. Sometimes it takes a little fiction to make me realize all the important things I missed. Romance readers who enjoy a sweet, warm story with deeper faith themes will enjoy this book.

An Amish Bookshop Courtship
This is a clean Amish fiction Christian book, one I would be happy to give as a gift to a friend or neighbor.
Patricia Johns writes a good storyline, and keeps the reader interested throughout the book.
In An Amish Bookshop Courtship, which is part of "An Amish Chocolate Shop " series,Fannie and Jesse are now good friends, and Jesse has come back to sell his deceased daed's bookshop, and then plans to return to Indiana, which is where he went after problems he had in the Amish community.
Fannie was in love with Jesse, but has since gotten over that, and is determined to learn to support herself financially, and to live independently. She's not looking for marriage, which is unusual in the Amish community, but Fannie has decided that this is the best choice for her, since her heartbreak with Jesse.
I liked the way Patricia Johns incorporated God and Jesus into the whole book, and I liked how the friendship between Jesse and Fannie progressed, and how each character in the story was well-developed and fit into the whole storyline. Good, wholesome reading. I recommend this book to any person who enjoys a good Amish Christian fiction book.
An e-copy of this book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

An Uplifting Inspirational Romance (Amish Chocolate Shop Brides Book 2)

Book 2 of 2: Amish Chocolate Shop Brides

Can the end of one chapter
be the start of their own love story?

Returning home to sell his late father’s bookstore, the last thing Amish carpenter Jesse Kauffman expects is to be roped into a pretend romance…with his childhood best friend. But Fannie Flaud is determined to shape her own future and will do anything to avoid the matchmaking plans of her well-meaning family. As they spend time together and rebuild their friendship, real feelings begin to grow between them. Now torn between Fannie and the life he has planned in Indiana, Jesse must decide: Can he let go of his past to stay with the woman he’s always loved?
Jesse Kauffman and his grandparents.
Fannie Flaud and family.
My favorite quote is
“I’m here to ask you for a favor.” She looked up at him hopefully. “I need you to ask me to go driving with you tonight.”
“What?” Jesse squinted at her. When men asked women to go driving, there was a very pointed reason for that. That would be seen as courting. “I thought we agreed that—”
“Please! As my friend, nothing more. I wouldn’t ask anything of you if it weren’t incredibly important. But my ankel has lined up another eligible match for me, and I need to be out of the house by seven at the latest. And I need to be gone for a couple of hours.” Fannie’s eyes blazed. “Just ask—”
“Uh…can I take you driving tonight?” he said.
I recommend this book.

This was such a cute read! I ended up finishing it in one evening. Jesse and Fannie wouldn't let me! They were such a cute couple! They made me laugh and want to shake them all at the same time! If that's possible.
This sort of reminds of my favorite Christmas theme
A Christmas Carol. I think that's why I enjoyed it so much!
And the candy! Oh my it sure made me drool because I'm a lover of chocolate and books! A great combo for this story.
Jesse made me mad about the bookstore and that's all I'll say about it. Don't want to give the rest away.
The past defines who you are and the choices that were made. You can't run from it but you can face it head on and forgive people to give yourself a peace of mind.
I understand it's hard. Very hard. I'm having that trouble myself.
Fannie was such a great person. I loved her instantly! She's what brought joy to my heart. My heart did go out to her. She's what I call an gift from God. As you read this beautiful Christmas story you'll see what I mean.
Love knows no bounds. You just have to find it or it finds you.
5 stars for a job well done!! I didn't want it to end. I ended up eating a piece of chocolate afterwards lol.
A story that will get you in the Christmas season and mood lol
My thanks for a copy of this wonderful story. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.

An Amish bookshop evokes mixed feelings for two old friends in this touching story from author Patricia Johns. It was a special part of Fannie Flaud's growing-up years in Menno Hills, but the owner's son can't wait to get rid of it! Jesse Kauffman plans to sell Kauffman Books, go back to Indiana, and put his haunted past behind him. Unless....Fannie can recruit him to help her avoid the plans of well-meaning matchmakers!

I loved the pretend courtship that slowly blossomed into sweet romance, and Fannie's compassion as she realized that Jesse's youth wasn't as idyllic as hers. Could she help him forgive the father who had hurt him so deeply? Would her plans for the bookshop convince him to stay?

Books and chocolate. Friendship and second chances. An Amish Bookshop Courtship is a perfect choice during this hectic Christmas season! I recommend it to all who enjoy Amish Christian romance.

I received a digital copy from the author. There was no obligation for a positive review.

A joyful holiday read that reminds us love and forgiveness are what makes the world a happy place.

Jesse has returned home after the death of his father to close his father’s bookshop. He has also returned home to his best friend, Fannie, who he hurt deeply when he left 3 years ago.

Fannie is full of forgiveness and is happy Jesse has returned until she realizes he is only back through the holiday season.

Fannie needs Jesse and Jesse needs Fannie but can they both get what they want?

What a perfect trio for my reading heart: Amish, books, and Christmas. I loved reading this book by the light of the Christmas tree while we had unusual early snows this past two weeks. Fannie is a wonderful character and I hope we get glimpses of her in future books. She is confident, strong, and forgiving. Such important characteristics to have in a world full of uncertainty.

This is the second book in the Amish Chocolate shop series but definitely can be read as a standalone.

An Amish Bookshop Courtship by Patricia Johns is the second book in the Amish Chocolate Shop Brides series. Jesse Kauffman is back in Memo Hills after his father's death to clear out his father's bookshop and sell it, so he can put to rest all of his bad memories from his childhood and move on with his life. Fannie Flaud, his childhood friend, spent many pleasant hours in that bookshop and wants to buy it from Jesse. Will old feelings from their past for each other reignite? And what will happen to the bookshop?

This was a delightful read filled with second chances, forgiveness, and love. If you're a fan of Amish romance, you won't want to miss reading this book!

All opinions expressed herein are strictly my own.

Thanks to the author, Patricia Johns, for an ARC e-pub of this book.

AN AMISH BOOKSHOP COURTSHIP is a heartwarming and tender story that captures the quiet strength of love, faith, and second chances.

In this book, Patricia Johns writes with a gentle hand, weaving together themes of forgiveness, belonging, and the courage to open one's heart. Jesse and Fannie are memorable characters, each carrying their own burdens and hopes, making their emotional journey back to one another a heartfelt one.

For me, what makes this love story special is its balance of simplicity and depth. While the story is gentle and comforting, it also touches upon emotional truths about trust, loss, and the power of grace.

AN AMISH BOOKSHOP COURTSHIP is a must read for anyone who enjoys inspirational romance, heartfelt storytelling, and the timeless charm of Amish fiction. I’m giving it the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy.

This is a delightful story by Patricia Johns. Fannie and Jessie have been best friends since they were children. Jessie leaves their community and moves to Indiana. When his father passes, he comes back to take care of the bookshop his dad owned for years. No one knows, not even Fannie, the abuse Jessie received from his widowed father. Will Fannie. be able to help heal the hurt he suffered for years? Can they build a life together? They have many obstacles to overcome, but God can make all things new. I really enjoyed this book.

I would say 3.5⭐️ but I went with 4.

So this book was mainly centered around Fannie and Jesse. The character flow went well for the most part.

The thing that I didn’t like was the switch between German and English. I would have preferred staying with one or the other when talking about her Aunt, Uncle and his Grandparents and father.

I would also recommend giving the words in the back of the book f there is a concern about if people will know what the words or phrases mean.

This story will hit home to many. The description of Jesse's resentment and even tortured memories of his father can be felt. Even Fannies questions of why Jesse wants to sale the book store arehard hitting. Anyone who has memories of parents like Jesse's gather will benefit by reading this book. Children can never understand what's behind a parents behavior. I highly recommend this book. EXCELLENT!!

An Amish Bookshop Courtship by Patricia Johns. This is the second book in her Amish Chocolate Shop Brides series. You won’t want to miss this sweet, wonderful heartwarming read. I didn’t want to put it down! I laughed at this, Dieter might be a perfectly nice man, but something inside of Jesse wanted to elbow the man out of the way.
Johns has a way of pulling you into her stories with Faith, Family and Friends at the heart. Thank you for this Arc, this is my honest review.
