The Cowboys Claim by Lisa Childs
Release Date December 30,2025

This is part of the Bachelors Cowboys series. But can definitely be read as a standalone. However, they are all great reads. My recommendation is that you read them all!

I especially like the characters of Sadie and Lem. In each story they’re using their matchmaking skills on different couples. In this story, it is Blake and Maci.

Maci is a new lawyer and is having a hard time representing the Lemmon brothers. They’re in the middle of a lawsuit against Franks daughter, Traci. Frank left the farm to the boys. Blake, Brett and Levi worked very hard for Frank. For that reason he felt they deserved the farm.
Maci has feelings for Blake, she’s trying to set them aside because she does not want there to be a conflict of interest. Also Maci and Traci our friends that have been like sisters. But they can’t talk to each other because of this lawsuit. Everything has to be handled through Traci’s lawyer. So the boy’s and Maci really don’t even know why Traci is doing this!

I absolutely loved the story. It is heartwarming yet, It has a lot of mystery and family drama. But the part that brings me in the most is the wonderful writing of the story. And the strong personality of the characters. Lisa has a way of making you feel like you are a part of the story.

I could definitely see this series being made into a Hallmark movie.
Five stars does not do it justice.

The Cowboy's Claim

I loved this book about a lawyer Maci Bluff and a cowboy Blake Lemmon.
Maci wrote a will for Frank Dempsey
that included all the Lemmon brothers and Frankie his niece. But Maci was fighting with Trisha Frank's daughter. They had people spying on them.
Maci was falling in love with Blake Lemmon. Blake Lemmon was falling for her. Maci rented a office from Blake's father Bob. Maci was pushing Blake away because of the inherentence. Maci was sending Blake confusing messages.
Lisa wrote a fabulous story that kept you reading instead of putting the book down. Lisa also matched characters up wonderfully.

Both Maci Bluff (lawyer) & Blake Lemmon (cowboy) have strong attractions towards each other, but Maci is representing him & his brothers in a lawsuit contesting a will. Blake, along with the help of his two brothers, helped save The Four Corners Ranch, owned by Frank….who shortly before his death ,rewrote his will to include them in joint ownership of the ranch ,with his daughter Trish & niece Frankie. Grab a copy of this book when it releases on 12-30 & see what the end results are 💕 This is book #2 in the Batchelor’s Cowboy series, but it can easily be read as a stand-alone.

Another in the Bachelor Cowboys Romance series, in which new lawyer, Maci Bluff, is up against a more experienced attorney when the will she wrote for a beloved rancher is being contested. To make matters worse, she is concerned that her crush on rancher Blake Lemmon may be used against him and his brothers who have been named the recipients of the elderly rancher's property.

Sometimes seems repetitive re: Maci's fears and Blake's desires, but it's still worth a read.

This book was so good. Once I started it I didn’t want to stop. Two people who have liked each other for quite some time but think they can’t do anything about it. Maci was scared that falling in love with Blake would make her lose her case. Blake wasn’t sure why Maci was pushing him away. Then someone was spying on them. I loved the ending.

This book offers a sweet romance, a lot of family love and drama and plenty of mystery, too as the Lemmon brothers are involved in a lawsuit that may end up with their losing the ranch that they love dearly. Blake, Brett, and Levi have worked hard since Frank hired them and when he died, he left the ranch to them. But his daughter Traci has filed a lawsuit to contest the will and Maci, a lawyer new to her profession, is sure that she won’t be able to win because she feels inept. The characters were realistically portrayed with doubts, emotional highs and lows and even caution in falling in love. I enjoyed meeting the characters again from the previous books, especially Sadie and Lem, the matchmaking grandparents. Just as advertised on the cover, this is a heartwarming story, a clean and wholesome look at a family that deals with daily problems like cows giving birth and workplace issues for Maci. I enjoyed the pace of the book which was perfect to hold my attention and I highly recommend this book as well as the rest of the series. This book can be read and enjoyed as a standalone, but I think once you read this one, you will really want to read the Bachelors Cowboys series as the books are entertaining and engaging from beginning to end.
I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I read all the Bachelor Cowboy books and love the characters.
Maci Bluff a lawyer is fighting her friend Trish so the Lemmons won't lose their ranch and Trish is trying to contest the will left by Frank.Blake Lemmon is falling for Maci but she is trying to be professional and he brings her two cute kittens. Of course Grandma Sadie is using her matchmaking skills to get Maci and Blake together.
This can be read as a standalone but it is a good series worth reading.

The Cowboy's Claim is the next in the Bachelor Cowboys series but can be read as a stand alone story, however I suggest reading the previous stories for the pure entertainment of each cowboy story. Maci Bluff is working to protect the contestation of the will for Frank Dempsey in which he named the Lemmon brothers, Frankie and his daughter Trish. Trish, Frankie and Maci were like sisters but now that Trish is fighting the will, she will no longer speak to them without her lawyer. Added to this stress, Maci is fighting her attraction to Blake Lemmon so that she can't be accused of impropriety. Blake is afraid to give his heart to someone after watching the devastation his dad went through but his feelings are growing stronger for Maci and he is not sure if she is using the will to push him away or she just doesn't like him. As they work to avoid each other, fate keeps throwing them together and kisses make it tougher to stay away but with the lawsuit hanging over their heads, they must decide what is more important and how they will choose. This is a wonderful story with many twists and turns, some adorable kittens, and a heartwarming love story that will have you dreaming of magical kisses. I love that the family keeps growing and expanding with more branches all due to Sadie and Lem with their matchmaking skills and love of family.

I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher but all thoughts and feelings are my own.

4 1/2 STARS!

Filled with heart, mystery and family camaraderie! The second book in Lisa Childs' Bachelor Cowboys series for Harlequin Heartwarming is as addictive as the first. The Lemmon brothers have inherited part of the ranch they've been helping to run for years from their father-figure boss, but his daughter is contesting the will and drama is following them. Blake is getting his turn at love with their attorney Maci, but she's fighting it along the way because she's worried how it will seem to her competing attorney who is being shady around every corner. The characters are heartwarming, the family and their supporters around town are filled with warmth and love and they're hoping for answers soon as to exactly what is going on. The mystery is left up in the air a little bit more than I would have liked, but hopefully we'll know more in the next book in the series. I'm looking forward to it!

Love this book. Maci Bluff is just starting out as a lawyer. A will she writes up is causing so much drama. The man who had her write the will has passed. Now his daughter along with her lawyer are getting extensions on the will. It will cause the Lemmons to lose the ranch which they’re supposed to inherit part of. Maci also is falling for one Blake Lemmon, but she tries not to. It might just be a conflict of interest. But something comes to light that Blake’s dad finds out something about a man who worked in his office.

Maci keeps pushing Blake, and Blake is ready to give up everything just to be with her. It was so sweet.
Buy to see what happens. I can’t wait for more.

I just love Sadie and Lem.
A must read.

I bought this book on harlequin.com as I am a Lisa Childs fan, but I was very disappointed in this book. I felt like it went on too long and it was very repetitive. We kept hearing about how the Court case was delayed and Maci would mentally rehash the will and reiterate how she wanted to carry out frank's last wishes. She was a tedious character who indulged in way too much self-pity. Blake was constantly reassuring her that none of this was her fault. Very disappointing.
