Kenni and Finn are finally getting married, but of course even their wedding cant go smoothly. Just as they are saying their I Do’s, Poppa appears on the alter with Kenni and Finn. Is Poppa there just to attend the wedding or has there been a murder in town?
This is the book in the series that everyone who loves this series has been waiting for, Kenni and Finn’s wedding. Kenni and Finn are a great couple both a romantic couple and a professional duo. Also we get the answer to Kenni’s previous question if Poppa will still be around once she gets married. The mystery of the murder has plenty of twists and turns. Along the way at of solving the murder Kenni uncovers some questionable behaviors of people she is close too. Great addition to this series! I can’t wait for the next!

As always it's fun reading about what happens in Cottonwood, Kentucky. Sheriff Kenni Lowry is about to be married and her friendly ghost and grandpa is there. Well there is also something sinister going on in the rural town that soon has all concerned. Miss Tilda a retired schoolteacher is found dead, was it natural or not? To finally get away on their honeymoon Kenni and Finn together with the ghost has to figure it out. I do like this series even though it is a little to much cozy for what I normally read.

This was a great addition to this series. It has murder, fraud, a wedding, gossip, and a bit of family drama. It has an interesting ending. I had figured out who the killer was but not their motive. I enjoyed the mystery but liked the wedding more. I was afraid things would go differently.

A charming, heartfelt read with truly beautiful storytelling. Her descriptive language is unmatched, painting scenes and emotions so vividly that it’s easy to get swept away.

Easy to follow, even with multiple characters. The big reveal at the end seems a little « unfair » to me. Naples writes a. Engaging story with well defined characters. I just wish there was another Agatha Christie’s out there who gave clues along the red herrings and you had a real chance of figuring out “whodunit.”

This is the day I’ve been waiting for, when my favorite sheriff is marrying her deputy! No, not the ghost deputy. Not Deputy Duke, either. Deputy Finn, who all of Cottonwood loves almost as much as Sheriff Kenni, is finally tying the knot with Kenni. The biggest part of their days will not be spent as sheriff and deputy, but as a happily married couple.
I love how this was not an extravagant, in-debt-forever wedding! The people of Cottonwood are simply happy to celebrate with Kenni and Finn, and many brought dishes for the amazing reception. The church was full of those who shared their joy, and all was going well until…well, Kenni saw something that filled her with incredible relief. She had eaten little that day, and was likely running on stress and coffee. And Kenni passed out cold. For two hours!
Kenni finally convinced everyone that she would be fine, and promised to see the doctor the following day. Kenni and Finn enjoyed every minute of the reception and every morsel of food, lovingly prepared by the folks of Cottonwood. There was one thing missing at the reception, however. A certain guest, Miss Tilda, who had taught most of Cottonwood except the very old and the very young, was the only no-show. The happy couple went home, and Poppa showed up minutes later. They needed to check on Miss Tilda tonight. Now.
They found Miss Tilda in her favorite reading chair with a book and the remains of a strange-smelling cup of tea. There was nothing they could do for her now, at least until the coroner sees her. In the meantime, they collected anything that could be evidence, especially the vile-smelling tea.
Sadly, it was discovered that dear Miss Tilda had been poisoned. Kenni and much of the town loved Miss Tilda, and she and Finn would do whatever it took to find who killed her. They were scheduled to leave on their honeymoon later in the week, but Kenni already knew they would go nowhere until they find justice for Miss Tilda.
I love this series so much! The characters, the small-town setting, the real, life-long friendships, and how they show their town pride is amazing. As the local sheriff, Kenni is walking in the steps of her beloved grandfather, Poppa, the last sheriff of Cottonwood. Keeping the peace was a privilege to Kenni. The characters are a quirky but authentic bunch, and most of them get along well together. They are pictured so well, that if I were in Kentucky, I would hope that at any moment I would get to meet them. Poppa and Kenni are my favorites, with Finn running a close second. Kenni has her finger on the pulse of the town, and for her, rumors and gossip are reliable tools to help find killers.
At first, there weren’t any suspects. Kenni looked around Miss Tilda’s house and found some possibly incriminating letters, then collected the latest rumors, introducing several possible suspects. One is even a well-known resident of Cottonwood. I highly recommend Shotgun Wedding and the earlier books in the Kenni Lowry Mystery Series, and am looking forward to the next episode!

The characters are well rounded and well rounded. Kenni's wedding day is finally and it is going to be picture perfect. That is until Miss Tilda is no-show for the wedding. She will not be going anywhere because someone killed her. Now instead of going on her honeymoon, Kenni has to find out who killed.
The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and these descriptions pulled me into the story from the very beginning.
The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read. The mystery was well plotted and carried on until the end.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. I really enjoyed this book.

Sheriff Kenni Lowry is finally marrying her beloved deputy Finn Vincent. All of the town of Cottonwood, Kentucky have come out for the ceremony, a simple one with food and other things provided by friends and family. Things don't exactly go as planned when Kenni passes out at the alter. Things resume later after it's decided her fainting spell is due to not eating enough so she can fit into her wedding dress.
Kenni and Finn hope to go on their honeymoon, but that is put on hold after a visit from Poppa, her late grandfather, who appears in ghostly form to let her know when things have happened that she needs to take care of. It seems this time Miss Tilda Boone a longtime resident of the town didn't come to the wedding. Miss Tilda has taught most of the children of the town over the years. Now she is pretty much a shut-in, but wouldn't miss the wedding unless something was wrong.
Kenni and Finn get back in uniform and go to Miss Tilda's home. She is sitting in a chair and is certainly dead. Is it from natural causes or did something in her tea cup poison her?
Once Kenni and Finn start investigating, they realize there could be more suspects than they imagined who might have wanted to silence Miss Tilda.
Many of the fans of the Kenni Lowery series have been looking forward to this novel since the love story between the two main characters has lead to marriage. The good thing about this series and others by author Tonya Kappes is they stand well on their own. You don't have to go back and read them all . Of course, I'm a little OCD about reading series books in order.
The inclusion of Kenni's ghosty Poppa adds charm to the stories. He was the former sheriff who can be very helpful. I would be a little anxious myself if a ghost popped up every so ofter without warning.
If you love small town cozy mysteries, you will love this book.

Let me start by saying this is my absolute favorite series out of all that the amazing Tonya Kappes writes. Kenni Lowry is a no-nonsense sheriff in the town of Cottonwood. Chock full of mystery, twists, turns, and laugh-out-loud moments, this newest installment will keep you swiping the pages of your Kindle into the wee hours. Make sure when you start this book, that you have nothing else that NEEDS to be done, because you won't want to put this down or even find a stopping place. Although you can jump right in, you'll want to read the earlier stories to get the full backstory of how we got here. The flow is just right here to just pick up and completely 'get it,' but you will appreciate each book more if they are read from the beginning.
Kenni and Finn finally take the leap in a small town cozy wedding. But...there is a murderer abound as Miss Tilda is found in her rocking chair with a tainted cup of tea. The mystery deepens as Kenni and Fin work to figure out not just who killed her, but why...just so you know, there is no shortage of gossip and finger-pointing in this small town!

The twelfth book in a fantastic series with characters you feel you know well. Finally, Kenni and Finn are getting married. But just as the they were reciting their I do, Kenni faints. Her ghost Poppa has appeared. She feared she might never see him again once they were married, but here he is. Everyone is scared and when she comes to she tells them it was because she didn't eat. Something must be wrong for him to appear and Ghost Poppa tells her to go to Miss Tilda Boone's house. Since Miss Boone responded she would be at the wedding, when Kenni and Finn didn't see her at the wedding or reception, the leave the reception only to find Miss Boone dead in her house. So, of course, the honeymoon has to be postponed and to top that, she finally has to tell Finn about her ghost deputy, Poppa, and how he appeared at the wedding. And so goes the story. It seems Miss Boone, a former teacher kept a lot of secrets. Could that finally caught up to her leading to her murder? This is another page turning, twisted mystery that keeps you turning pages until the end. Not only do I highly recommend this book, but I highly recommend the entire fantastic series. I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

One special guest who wasn’t at the wedding was very eager to attend. When she wasn’t there, Kenni had to check on her. Of course what she finds is the lifeless body of Miss Tilda. Long retired, long respected school teacher who kept records and copies of every event in town. Miss Tilda seemed to know every secret in town.
Because Kenni wouldn’t dream of a honeymoon with Miss Tilda’s death unsolved, she and Finn begin investigating.
Grandpa ghost is there to assist though in this story, he’s less overshadowing than usual. What made this story a little less enjoyable (to me) was the number of suspects. And who goes to play cards on their wedding night? And isn’t Kenni’s mama just a bit much in her moaning about Kenni’s unfortunate fainting shown on the front page of the town’s newspaper?
But my less than enthusiastic opinion is of no real consequence because like every other fan of this series, I’m eager for the next episode.

I loved this fast-paced mystery. I love the duo of Finn and Kenni and how their chemistry just keeps getting better with every book in the series. In Shotgun Wedding, Tonya Kappes delivers everything fans have been waiting for: the long-awaited wedding we’ve rooted for since the beginning, interrupted in true Cottonwood, Kentucky fashion by a suspicious death that pulls Sheriff Kenni Lowry right back into detective mode on what should be her honeymoon night.
The ghostly Poppa is as sassy and helpful (and hilariously unfiltered) as ever, providing those classic supernatural nudges that make this series so unique and entertaining. The small-town Southern charm is dialed up—sweet tea, quirky locals, community drama—and the plot twists keep coming without ever feeling forced. Balancing newlywed life, small-town politics, and a full-blown homicide investigation keeps the energy high from start to finish.

I should have known that even Kenni and Finn's wedding would not be normal. There would have to be an unforgettable moment because that is par for the course for Sheriff Kenni Lowry. This moment is a doozy that started this story off with a bang and a chuckle.
Not even the wedding night is sacred, as Poppa pops in to suggest that Kenni check in with Tilda Boone. Kenni was already concerned when Tilda did not show up for the wedding festivities. When they find her body sitting primly in her chair beside her beloved tea kettle, Kenni does not believe she died from natural causes.
Tonya Kappes is definitely the cozy queen, but she is also the queen of red herrings, as she so expertly weaves a solid mystery with plenty of suspects taking you down one rabbit hole after another. This is what makes a cozy mystery by this author so enjoyable. This, along, with the colorful cast of characters, who never fail to add in drama and Southern charm, are the real deal when you want a good mystery with a side of humor.

Shotgun Wedding is the twelfth cozy mystery in the Kenni Lowry series. Sheriff Kenni Lowry is getting married to Deputy Finn Vincent and things are going well until Kenni sees Poppa. Poppa is her ghost deputy and her grandpa. He only appears when there has been a crime in town. Instead of the fun, worry free wedding night Kenni had hoped for she discovers the body of Miss Tilda Boone. Now Kenni needs to solve the case before she can have her honeymoon with Finn.
I have loved this series since I discovered it and I’m so glad to see Kenni getting her happily ever after even if it’s followed by a murder. I’ve been rooting for her and Finn for a long time. This mystery pulled me in from the beginning and held my interest all the way through. It was a mystery full of twists and turns but I never got lost and enjoyed the whole ride. This is a great series full with fun characters that I love seeing again. I really enjoyed this mystery and can’t wait to see what else comes for Kenni and everyone in the next mystery in this series.

Shotgun Wedding is another entertaining installment in Kappes' Kenni Lowry cozy mystery series. This book has been a long time coming with Kenni and Finn finally getting married. Naturally things can not go as planned as this long awaited wedding finally happens. Kenni's wedding night is interrupted by the unexpected death of a dear friend. Putting her honeymoon on hold, Kenni wants to wrap up this case fast and get justice for someone she cared about.
Kappes does a great job at delivering quite the payoff with an entertaining wedding while also setting up the book's mystery. This case hits close to Kenni because of her connection to the victim as well as the fact that her beautiful wedding and honeymoon was interrupted. I loved seeing the wedding finally happen as well as see my favorite secondary characters back as well. The book's mystery is well done full of enough twists and turns to keep the reader's interest from beginning to end. I am looking forward to reading Kenni's next adventure.

Shotgun Wedding is the twelfth book in the Kenni Lowry Mystery series. Kenni and Finn say "I do" in this story but their happiness is short-lived when Poppa brings unhappy news. The happy couple trade wedding clothes for uniforms to check in on a guest who RSVP'd but didn't show. What they find chills Kenni's blood and she knows she'll do anything to find out what happened to retired schoolteacher Miss Tilda Boone.
I enjoyed Shotgun Wedding. I’m a fan of books with supernatural elements and having Poppa’s ghost help Kenni is a fun aspect. Having her grandfather back in her life must be exciting and wonderful but not being able to hug him must be torture. Poppa proves to be quite the asset to Kenni as she investigates and attempts to analyze the clues and piece everything together.
World-building and character development continues in Shotgun Wedding. I enjoyed the characters and their involvement in this book. Enjoyable and interesting, this cozy mystery pulled me in and kept me engaged. The mystery was intricate and wonderfully woven through the pages.

The day has finally arrived when Sheriff Kenni Lowry will marry Finn Vincent. Unfortunately Kenni faints right after she says "I do" worrying Finn and all of her wedding guests, especially her mother. Kenni finally has to tell Finn her secret, the real reason that she fainted. When they arrive at their reception Kenni notices that an important member of the community isn't at the reception even though she RSVP'd that she would attend. Just as Kenni and Finn are changing out of their wedding clothes Kenni gets a call and she and Finn are back on the job. They feel the pressure to solve the mystery before they leave on their honeymoon and Kenni will not rest until justice is served. This book kept my interest from beginning to end.

Enjoyed Every Page of this Book
The moment we all have been waiting for arrives at the start of this book! Of course, Kenni couldn’t make it through her wedding day without something happening. That is about as far as I am willing to go in order to not spoil the book for anyone who has not read it.
Overall, Tonya Kappes did a fabulous job writing book 12 in this series. Kenni and Finn are one of my all time favorite book couples. The love, respect, kindness, support, and care that they have for each other is comforting to read about. They also are an incredible team at work and at home. I love that the cases Kenni find herself in are very believable and not outlandish. This book was fabulous to read and held my attention from start to finish. It definitely deserves the 5 stars I am rating it. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

Another wonderful book from Tonya Kappes. I was so thrilled when she was able to bring this series back. It's time for a wedding! It's wedding day for Kenni and Finn and wouldn't you know it...Kenni faints right at the alter. Things are chaotic but the wedding resumes and everyone thinks that they dodged a bullet. The secret is Kenni fainted because she saw ghost Poppa at the wedding. Kenni had feared she would never see him again if she got married but he's still there causing chaos. The reception goes well and everyone is having a good time until later when a dead body turns up. So much for the wedding night as Kenni and Finn jump in trying to solve the murder before their honeymoon. Great story and a must read. I love all the people of Cottonwood.

I have been waiting for Kenni and Finn's wedding. I wasn't disappointed. It is one that everyone in town will talk about for years. Just as Kenni and Finn get home to spend their wedding night together, Poppa shows up. That is never good. Kenni had noticed that Miss Tilda hadn't been at the wedding or reception, and Poppa tells her she needs to check on Tilda. When they discover Tilda's body, Kenni also realizes that she didn't die of natural causes. So, Kenni and Finn spend their wedding night at a crime scene. As they investigate, they uncover some secrets and Kenni doesn't want to think badly of the residents, but someone killed Miss Tilda. Was it because she held so many secrets for others? Will they solve this murder in time to go on their honeymoon?

The Kenni Lowry series is one of my favorites ever by Tonya Kappes. With Shotgun Wedding, fans of the series are given the perfect wedding between Kenni and Finn, followed by a really great mystery.
I adore all the characters in this series, and love spending time with them with each new installment. I have to say that there has been so much growth with both Kenni and Finn since this series started, and it only makes me love both of their characters even more with each new story. All the happy sighs with the romance in this book! While I did figure out the who-done-it before it was revealed, I didn't have all the whys until the very end.
I can't wait to get more books in this series in the future!!!

This Kenni Lowry cozy mystery series is a great series that includes southern ways, a great little town, great people and of course a murder and a deputy ghost. Also it’s finally her wedding day. Who would have thought that a beloved teacher would end up dead on Kenni’s wedding night. She was supposed to be at the wedding, but never showed. Not like her. Instead of spending an amazing night with her new husband Finn, they are investigating a murder. Can they figure it out before it’s time for the honeymoon? You’ll definitely chuckle at times, while you join Sheriff Lowry as she tries to figure it out. And there is always a little twist at the end. Tonya Kappes does a great job weaving the plot together. Love it! Looking forward to the next one.

The wedding night doesn’t quite go as planned for Kenni and Finn. One of the wedding guests, Miss Tilda Boone, was a no-show. When Poppa suddenly appears and informs her that something is very wrong head to Miss Boone’s house and her worst fears are confirmed when they find her lifeless body. When it’s determined that Miss Boone was murdered, Kenni and Finn vow to solve the crime as quickly as possible. Their honeymoon will have to wait.
This is a wonderful addition to the series. So glad to see Poppa still here.
