1 & 2 Corinthians: Love, Unity, and the Countercultural Power of the Cross by Tara Leigh Cobble is another incredible addition to The Bible Recap Knowing God Series. I’ve come to really appreciate how Tara leads her studies — she always points everything back to who God is, while also helping readers see how His truth shapes the way we live, love, and relate to others. This particular study was such a powerful reminder of how radically different the gospel is from the world’s values, and how the message of the cross calls us to live in humility, love, and unity.

Each week of this 10-week study is carefully structured with daily readings, teaching sections, thoughtful reflection questions, and Scripture memory. It’s designed so you can really dig into Paul’s letters without feeling overwhelmed. Tara walks through the context of Corinth — a city so much like our modern world — and connects it beautifully to the challenges we face today. Pride, division, selfishness, comparison, misplaced priorities — all of it feels so relevant. Yet she always points us back to Christ as the answer, reminding us that true wisdom and power are found only in the cross.

What stood out to me most was how much emphasis Tara places on unity within the Church. These letters from Paul challenge believers to lay down personal preferences for the sake of love and community. The study helped me reflect on my own relationships and how I can be more intentional about loving people the way Jesus does — with grace, patience, and humility.

The reflection questions were meaningful and convicting, often sparking deep prayer and journaling time for me. The Scripture memory verses were perfect for keeping key truths in my heart throughout the week. I also loved how Tara balanced solid theology with practical application — she helps you not just understand Scripture, but live it out.

By the end of the study, I felt both encouraged and challenged. Encouraged by how God continues to work through imperfect people (just like He did in Corinth!), and challenged to embody the kind of love and unity Paul calls for. It reminded me that following Jesus is meant to look different from the world — and that the cross truly changes everything.

If you’re looking for a Bible study that will strengthen your understanding of Scripture, stretch your faith, and remind you of the beauty of gospel-centered community, this is a must-read. Tara Leigh Cobble’s heart for helping people know God shines through every page, and this study left me grateful, inspired, and eager to keep growing.
