This is literally the only other volume of this series I could find after the first one. It's definitely a bit beyond where the anime left off, but I can still follow what's going on pretty well. Still annoyed by Ulmandra, but by now I should know what I'm getting into, so I can't keep leaning into that.

I *can* be annoyed that Kuc Kwatrokhis* is like EXTRA Ulmandra. HUGE and wearing a common fetish outfit (though more clothing than Ulmandra normally wears) AND throws vaguely suggestive lines at Uchimura ("You probably don't like girls like me..."? asking this why...?). She barely shows up, though, so I had to be "reminded" that I was vaguely irritated by her, probably for the normal reason.

To be fair, Gnome is respectfully dressed, but probably ONLY because she comes from a wintery land where it's normal for her to be completely covered. (Sylphid also covers up, but that's mostly to hide her identity so people won't bother her; undisguised, she's also unreasonably proportioned, though at least her personality is more mad scientist than "lovesick but stubbornly won't own up to it to rehash the SAME 'romantic comedy' joke in EVERY MANGA/ANIME EVER.")

So, I find this story interesting in a "haven't seen this yet, wonder how it plays out, especially considering where it leaves off" sense. It *can* be read without the prior volumes if you've caught up on the anime, but I don't think I'd as such recommend doing that, particularly if you can't find any other volumes. I have the feeling this will get confusing if read in arbitrary order like I end up doing, but at least it's easier to follow this way than, say, Jujutsu Kaisen read this way.

*leaning ALL THE WAY IN for fantasy names here, yeesh
