I was pleasantly and heartbreakingly surprised that it wasn't the SD/Nanny romance I expected. I finished it much faster than planned bc the story just wouldn't let me go. The characters developed, the story went in surprising directions. The one thing about romances is you can hopefully assume at the end there will be a HEA, but the journey there can be a fun, sad, thrilling, or surprising experience; the thing that makes a good story is one that mimics life in building a story where our characters experience all those things, because life is not one note. This had great main characters and what I personally consider the back bone of any story, it had great secondary characters that weren't just wall hangings, they actually propelled the story forward.

After reading the first act of this book, I didn't expect to be in tears for nearly the whole third act. It was beautiful. 5/5 Definitely recommend.

This touching story had me connecting and empathizing with Fin and Allie. They both are coming to terms with heartbreak and mistrust. When she starts as nanny for Fin's daughter it starts their path one that is filled with emotional upswings as they navigate their journey to happiness.

These two main characters were strangers and saying “I love you” by the second day of knowing each other 🙃😬
