Kira is pulled in yet another murder. It seems like everywhere she turns someone else comes up dead. Now that she's aware that harm is lurking around the next corner she starts equipping herself with an arsenal of manpower. But will that manpower help keep her alive?
Kiki Swinson was born and raised in Portsmouth, Virginia. She discovered her flair for writing after completing her first novel, Mad Shambles, while serving a five-year sentence at a federal prison. After being released in December 1996, Kiki later went on to self-publish Mad Shambles. Her passion for writing didn't stop there. Writing feverishly into the wee hours of the night, she completed her second novel, Wifey, which was published by Melodrama Publishing. After the success of Wifey, Kiki penned the sequels I'm Still Wifey and Life After Wifey, as well as The Candy Shop and A Sticky Situation.
Sorry but I can no longer continue to read about this book series I feel the the author is now dragging this book and not making any sense she should of started off with a new character and not Kira because the original book wife she didn’t have a dad but now she do and as you keep reading to me it seems like run along sentences
Wifey’s Next Deadly Hustle by bestselling urban lit author, Kiki Swinson, is the second book in her Wifey’s Next Hustle series. This series is a spin-off of her Wifey series.
Kira Wade is still trying to keep her head above water and her behind out of jail. Is the Universe conspiring to keep her down?
Kiki Swinson continues the drama in Wifey’s Next Deadly Hustle. She picks up the story right where book one, Wifey’s Next Hustle, ended. This novel can be read as a standalone but is better read after book one. Kira isn’t getting any smarter, but the story is. Swinson added some interesting plot twists, and the story flows well. The twists magnify the shock factor. The book ends with another cliffhanger, so be prepared to wait for the next installment. I enjoyed this second novel in the series, rate it 4 out of 5 stars, and recommend it to all readers of urban suspense.
My thanks to Kensington Books, Dafina, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.
Kira is back, and for some reason, just can't seem to stay out of trouble. I read this book in one sitting, and could not put it down. My mouth dropped several times throughout the story. It was hard to believe some of what happened in this story. It picks up right after the last book ended, so in my opinion, it will need to be read in order. I do hate that it was so short, that is probably my biggest issue with the series. Can't wait to read what happens next
I received a copy of a new version of the book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review of my own thoughts and opinions.
Omg this book started right off where the last book ended. I swear Kira father is a piece of work. He so worried about his damn friends that he’s ready to throw his daughter under the bus just to get justification for his friends. Now he done got himself into with Dylan and his boys I swear that old man think he knows everything because he used to be a judge when you on the streets you play by a different set of rules. Lord he making me not like his behind but you know what they say karma is a true b***h. On to the next book. Great job Kiki get job.
Whew!! It’s been awhile since I’ve read something by Kiki Swinson. I’m sure if I was more committed to the newer adventures of “Wifey” it would’ve been better , but as a person uninterested in this level of ratchet-ness and a little lost in the story, it didn’t always capture me. Interested to see how long this series will be kept running. 3 stars for keeping me interested, train wreck style.
The first book was my fav. The second was great too - at the start - but then became long and drawn out towards the end. The story it self is nice and in time I may read the last two.
As of now I do recommend everyone read the first book though - well I guess the second too so you can know what happens to the fiancée and dad.
1.5 stars. I don't know where to start. I will say that a character that was sobbing that her father was all she had (after he was shot BY HER BOYFRIEND) might actually need a day (not a few moments) to decide whether or not she was OK with him being killed for running his mouth (or fear or running his mouth). It's "bawling" if the person is crying. Not "balling". Those might be small things. But it felt like it the Groundhog Day of books. Kira, her boyfriend, and her father arguing and and living the same day over and over.
Omg this book was really good just like all the other ones. Nick was a friend to the very end. Kira and Dylan were getting harassed by that crooked cop Detective Grimes he wasn’t going to stop until he got someone for those murders. Kira did a lot to keep her deep secret under raps. The ending of the book really took me by surprised. I never in a million years thought that my boy Dylan would get shot it broke my heart. Let me read the finally part to see if my boy survived his gun shot wound. Great job Kiki once again you did your thing.....
Every where Kira go dead people seems to be discovered, now that her dad has a gone Kira is picking up the pieces and trying to savage her relationship with Dylan, but tragedy has stricken once again.
Another good story by Kiki Swinson, it did have a few grammatical errors.
Excellent book, Kira has found herself in another situation that will cause her to make the hardest decision of her life, choosing her father or man she loves Dylan?
