I didn't follow Wyatt Stone to college, I followed my heart. He just happened to be there.

Against the odds, our love has only grown stronger over the last three years. Now Wyatt's entering his final college football season, only a few months away from the pro draft this spring. And despite how hard I tried to deny living the same love story as my parents, it seems I'm destined to become the wife of an NFL quarterback. Forever the cheerleader. Truthfully? I can't imagine life turning out any other way.

However, dreams are temporary. And sometimes, it's the things that happen when we're wide awake that forge our stories. Our love is about to face its toughest test yet, and as badly as my heart wants to hold on to what we were, I'm not so sure it's possible. More importantly, I'm not certain it's the right choice for either of us.

Now, Wyatt . . . he's a lot like my father. He's stubborn. What we're facing is a whole lot heavier than being down by a touchdown with only seconds to go. But Wyatt doesn't back down from a fight. It's just that this one might not win him the game in the end.

Ginger Scott does it again in Game Face, the second installment of Peyton and Wyatt’s love story—and wow, what a ride. This book isn’t just about a college quarterback and his cheerleader girlfriend. It’s about navigating change, heartbreak, and the kind of love that doesn’t just survive storms—it grows stronger in them.

Senior year was supposed to be their victory lap, but when life throws a heartbreaking curveball, Peyton and Wyatt are forced to re-evaluate everything—their future, their dreams, and even their relationship. What makes this story so powerful is the way they face those challenges—not perfectly, but authentically. I laughed, I swooned, and yes… I cried more than once.

What sets Game Face apart is the deep emotional core. These characters are surrounded by love—not just from each other, but from family and friends who lift them up when they can’t stand on their own. And Wyatt? He’ll steal your heart all over again with his quiet strength and unwavering support. Peyton’s journey, though painful, is full of growth and raw honesty that makes her feel incredibly real.

This book hit all the right notes—angst, hope, romance, and resilience. It’s the kind of story that sticks with you long after you’ve finished the last page. If you’re not already rooting for Peyton and Wyatt, you will be by the time you finish Game Face. And that bonus epilogue? Absolute perfection.

Bring on book three—I’m all in.

Swoony Line:
"It’s as though he was cut from a mold I made with wishes and desires."

"It’s like I’m looking into them for the first time, and the butterflies are so present my knees feel weak."

“Don’t say I don’t need you. Because I need you, Wyatt. I need you so much.”

I received an ARC copy and wanted to leave an honest review.

Note: This review is for an ARC provided by WordSmith Publicity and is my unbiased opinion.

I've said this before, but I will say it again. Back when Ginger Scott released and I read The Hail Mary, I can remember thinking I was glad Scott knew we needed another book in The Waiting series when I didn't. That is exactly how I feel after reading Game Face. Peyton and Wyatt were in a happy, good place when I left them and that's where I wanted them to stay. Luckily, Scott had more ideas for them. I loved seeing them a little older, a little wiser, and even more in love.

In Game Face, Peyton and Wyatt are in their senior year of college with the world at their feet. Their making changes and taking chances that will bring them closer together. Then, tragedy strikes, sending them into a tailspin. Peyton and Wyatt have to learn how to adjust to the changes and figure out how to keep their individual and couple goals on a path to their happy ending.

That little description I gave may sound all doom and gloom, but I found Game Face to be an uplifting read. There was just the right amount of angst, but also a lot of positivity flowing through Peyton and Wyatt's story. I loved seeing their relationship continue grow and their love for each other only get stronger. They had some tough things to deal with both together and apart, but the way they leaned on each other and their support team made for many special moments. They are a couple that I continue to root for and adore.

Another thing that made this book special was that support team I mentioned. Peyton's and Wyatt's families were along for the ride once again. So were their friends Whiskey and Tasha. There was also a character from the last book I wasn't too happy to see that kept me on edge but also made me maybe like him. All of these people added to my love of this book.

Overall, Game Face was another fantastic new adult sports romance from Ginger Scott. I'm super excited to hear Peyton and Wyatt are getting another book. (Don't worry - this book doesn't end with a cliffhanger.) I can't wait to rea more about their life, especially after the sneak peek at the end of this book.

As the love story of Wyatt Stone and Peyton Johnson continued life threw challenges at them that would crush a lesser love but allowed them to conquer all with theirs.

While this couple took their inevitable next steps in their relationship there was no shortage of hurdles for them to take on. Wyatt, a once in a generation quarterback, was faced with decisions that were heartbreaking. His ability to prioritize Peyton to the expense of all else showed his true colors and the depth of their love. Peyton's strength and determination to not only overcome her personal trials but to put Wyatt first was inspiring. This couple showed a maturity and selflessness that was rare and believable thanks to this author's ability to convey their story.

Ms. Scott did a wonderful job of evolving all her portrayals showing their growth without reinventing them. A solid cast of secondary characters added wonderful layers to this story giving it a real sense of family, friendship and community.

Ginger Scott continues to take on real life with strength and understanding. This author does not walk away from the difficulties of her portrayals but shows their capabilities to take them on. Ginger Scott's Game Face took her The Waiting series to the next level and allowed her audience to fall even harder in love with its amazing characters!

*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own.*
*For an enhanced reading experience reading the previous book in this series is recommended.*

What a great read! Wyatt Stone fills my Reed Johnson cup. Two of my favorite book boyfriends. The way Wyatt loves Peyton is only comparable to how Reed loves Nolan.

Wyatt and Peyton are seniors in college and have the world at their fingertips. Until one moment changes everything. I didn’t see it coming and it was told so beautifully that you see the hurt, the struggle, the pain, but mostly, the resilience.

Slight spoiler

I loved that there was no cheating. No scandal. No misunderstanding. It was so relatable to how life can play out.

Great story. Great characters. Another epic story in one of my favorite series.

When I was done reading Home Game I immediately wanted more Wyatt and Peyton. And now I have it!!

Holy cow does Ginger hit this story out of the park. The struggles that Wyatt goes through mentally, trying to figure out who he is if he is not a quarterback…I felt those to my core. And then Peyton, my god does that girl have some Wonder Woman strength.

This story is all about the struggles we go through. The ones that are mental, and those that end up setting us back and making us question our lives.and throughout all knowing that it’s best if we go through all of those trials with the ones we love most by our sides.

Game Face-book 2 in the Waiting Next Generation series.
This is a continuation of Peyton and Wyatt’s story.
This story continues while they both attend college together. Some ups and downs some small some not so small.
Still loving their story and we do have a slight cliffhanger so there is going to be a third book with these two.
Looking forward to it!

Now in college, Peyton and Wyatt’s love story continues.

Once again, Ginger Scott delivers an unputdownable story as these two navigate the next phase of their lives..

I loved being back in their world, seeing how they’ve grown, and seeing the two handling more adult situations. Wyatt Stone remains one of the best book boyfriends ever written.

Wow - that's all I have to say right now, is wow.

I sometimes find multiple books dealing with the same couple tiresome. Duets are exempt from this, it's more the 3 or more installments where I sometimes think, do I really want more about this same couple?

As I say with everything in any genre of storytelling, it always comes down to the writing and guess what? That general rule of not wanting the same couple in multiple books? Out the window. Doesn't apply. No problems here whatsoever. Ginger Scott's writing ability to be grounded and authentic in her storytelling makes the reader care so much ...so so so so so much about Wyatt and Peyton's journey.

This wasn't just a worthy follow up story to Home Game (which I adored as a HS coming of age romance), but it actually exceeded the first installment with a much deeper and reflective journey for both Peyton and Wyatt.

What they go through, 4 years into their relationship, is just as what Peyton's father, Reed says in the book. It's life. And who can't relate to that. Accidents / tragedies / downfalls / bumps in the road...it's part of all of it. And finding that someone in life to share every high and low with, is what not only this story is about, but life in general. Wyatt is the absolute stuff that top-tier book boyfriends are made of - strong and stoic. Level headed and protective in the quiet and in tuned way. He's a golden retriever cinnamon roll at first glance, but on a deeper level, he's got this connection with Peyton that is almost on a soul mate level. I ate it up.

And our girl Peyton? Her strength and stubbornness and resolve that shined in her maturity in the first book, only grows and leads her through her own journey that had me in tears so many times in this one.

The side characters are so well developed in this. From Reed and Nolan's continuation and journey. From Otis the horse to Whiskey and Tasha...and last but certainly not least, Bryce. BRYCE! I want a Bryce book!!!!

I will be reading the last book right away b/c this was such an incredible follow up - Bravo Ginger!

Game Face is the perfect continuation in The Waiting Series Next Generation. Ginger Scott offers up an eye-opening glimpse into our lovebirds Peyton Johnson and Wyatt Stone as their strong relationship is put to the test over and over in their last year of college. I'll admit I wasn't quite ready for what transpired for either of them, their struggles very different but no less intense. Yet their connection is what gets them through over and over again even as some short-lived doubt managed to creep into their thoughts once in a while.

Reed and Nolan continue to prove themselves to be the rocks both Peyton and Wyatt need when things get rough. And even besties in Tasha and Whiskey come through over and over again and always provide that respite from all the heavy.

But it's the maturity and drive of these wonderful characters that really captured my attention. Peyton faces every new obstacle with determination, grace and most importantly her father's stubbornness and mother's can-do attitude that is much more than most 20-somethings have to endure. Yet, thankfully, she never wallows too long having the strength of her family, friends and the love of her life by her side. Even during the toughest of times, I was wildly impressed at Peyton's sheer will to always take one more step.

And for Wyatt, I loved how he realized that sure, football will always be a part of him but that perhaps other things in life, most importantly his Peyton, were what made his world complete. He comes through for his team, his coaches and his girl time and again even when it might be the most difficult thing to do at that moment.

Even with the wonderful ending and epilogues we are given by Scott, I am so looking forward to Final Down and the surprising new possibilities the Johnson-Stones have ahead of them. This last chapter will undoubtedly offer more detours but I'm hopeful they will be ones Peyton and Wyatt will happily conquer together.

In the meantime, I loved Game Face and happily give this well-written book a big 5 stars!

Ginger Scott has written a wonderful sports romance that took me by surprise. With the relationship already established and going through growing pains as life goes on, I loved the story being about saving something worth fighting for. With emotions that run deep and are raw throughout this book, I connected with these characters in my soul. A love story about how love changes as you grow, individually and together, Ginger gives readers a wonderful story!

Peyton and Wyatt are in their senior year of college. Expecting this to be one of the easier years, they are thrown for a loop when life begins to get very real for both of them. As life after college continues to creep up, they are both left wondering where it is leading them. Are they headed down the same path or different ones? Will the love they have cultivated be strong enough to last or will outside forces slowly move them away from each other?

I adored how real both MCs were in this book! Wyatt is a quiet strength, but don’t mistake that quiet for weak. He is determined, resilient, and supportive. Peyton goes through a painful journey, but her emotion is impossible to not feel deep down. Both characters also have support from their family and friends that is unwavering. Never telling them the answer, but guiding them in the right direction to find the answer for themselves.

A wonderful coming of age story that truly showcases the good and bad in life. As you get older, life changes in ways you can’t prepare yourself for. Ginger reminds her readers to not be afraid of changes and if people are worth having in your life you will find a way for them to stay. A story that I felt deeper than I was expecting for a sports romance, but one that I know I will read over and over again.

As always, review any author notes before reading.

The wait is over! Ginger Scott’s second installment in the Waiting: Net Generation series is available. Game Face features Wyatt Stone and Peyton Johnson, and the story jumps forward to their senior year in college.

Ms. Scott really surprised me with this story. I was floored by the big upset, and I fell in love with Wyatt and Peyton because of the strength they showed through the ordeal. Game Face isn’t your standard footballer-cheerleader romance. Ms. Scott brings deep emotional depth to this story. Her protagonists have faced many challenges in life already, and between their grit and love for one another they navigate the current storm.

“You dig in when you’re going through $h*t. It’s this relentless battle, and the one thing you know you can count on is that other half. You aren’t in it alone.”

I loved that Peyton’s parents, Reed and Nolan, have significant roles in the story, and that both Wyatt and Peyton find strength and comfort from their extended families. I was especially touched by Wyatt’s quiet strength as well as his relationship with Peyton’s father, Reed.

“The game may have picked me, but I pick you. You’re my everything. My beginning, middle, and end. All the things in between.”

Game Face hits all the marks and will stay with me for a long time. I laughed, cried and swooned while reading. Ms. Scott is a talented storyteller. No matter the reader’s age, her characters are relatable and endearing. Her writing tears at my heart and eventually gives me a big hug and smile. I am very much looking forward to the next book in the series, Final Down.

Loved this addition to Wyatt and Peyton’s story!!😍

𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞 is the 2nd book in the The Waiting Series Next Generation by Ginger Scott, featuring more of Peyton and Wyatt’s heart-pounding story. They’re the quintessential Quarterback and Cheer Captain power couple entering the final football season of their college lives with NFL dreams right at their fingertips. It should be smooth sailing, but when life throws it’s own dramatic plot twists, it becomes obvious that Wyatt and Peyton have a bigger fight on their hands than they ever imagined, along with some major choices to make.

Wow! I loved seeing the growth in Wyatt and Peyton’s relationship— the strength of their bond and their fiery chemistry! I was certainly not expecting the emotional twists and turns that struck, but I enjoyed every second of the roller coaster! I’ll admit, the emergence of one character had me so suspicious for so long, as I tried to determine if their motives were good or bad that I ended up laughing at myself.😅 Also, Reed fully redeemed himself in my eyes in this one! I adored him as a dad to Peyton, but also his relationship with Wyatt. Peyton’s strength and fortitude were absolutely inspirational, and Wyatt’s steadfast love was totally swoon worthy! The supporting characters were great in this one— there’s nothing like top notch best friends that brings banter and support. For an instant, I was a tiny bit bummed about one aspect of the ending, but then I got to the 2nd Epilogue, and was given a shot of adrenaline that has me super excited for Wyatt and Peyton’s next story!!

Wyatt Stone and Peyton Johnson's love story continued but not without curveballs being thrown their way.

These two took the next steps in their relationship but there were hurdles they needed to get through first. Wyatt, a generational QB is faced with some heartbreaking decisions. His ability to prioritize Peyton with the expense of everything else on his shoulders showed the depth of their love.

Peyton's strength and determination to plow ahead given all the adversity she's facing in her life while putting Wyatt first is inspirational. This a super mature couple for their age as well as selfless, which is not something you see everyday for a young couple.

Ginger Scott's ability to convey all these aspects of their story while making it believable is a credit to how fantastic of a writer and storyteller she is. Ms. Scott also did an outstanding job of character evolution, showing the growth of everyone without reinventing them is a testament to her skills as an author. I loved the secondary characters in this book! The layers it adds to this story was perfect, you feel the value of family, and community throughout the book.

Ginger Scott's take on real life strength and understanding is impeccable. I love how she doesn't shy away from the hardships her characters face while taking everything they're thrown head on. Game Face took this series to a whole other level, which makes the audience fall move in love with these incredible characters.

I enjoyed Game Face more than I did Home Game which makes me even more excited to see what Ms. Scott has in store for us readers/fans in Final Down.

This is Book 2 of the Waiting: Next Generation Series!

I was lucky enough to receive as an ARC 🥰

Ginger Scott delivers a heart-wrenching and deeply emotional sports romance in Game Face, a story that explores the highs and lows of love, ambition, and the sacrifices that come with chasing dreams.
Peyton didn’t follow Wyatt Stone to college—she followed her heart.

Their love has defied the odds, surviving the pressures of college life and the intense spotlight of Wyatt’s rising football career. Now, with Wyatt on the cusp of entering the NFL, Peyton is forced to confront the reality she’s always tried to avoid: she is living the same love story as her parents, destined to stand on the sidelines while the man she loves dominates the field. And while that future once seemed perfect, she’s beginning to question whether it’s truly what she wants—or if love alone is enough.

As Wyatt prepares for the biggest season of his life, Peyton wrestles with her own identity and aspirations, realizing that her dreams may not align with the path she’s on. Their relationship, once unshakable, is now tested like never before. Wyatt, much like Peyton’s father, is stubborn and determined—he refuses to back down from a challenge. But some battles can’t be won on sheer willpower alone.

Scott masterfully blends romance, sports, and self-discovery into a poignant and thought-provoking read. Game Face isn’t just a story about football—it’s about love, choices, and the reality that sometimes, even the strongest love stories must face the toughest tests. Will Peyton and Wyatt find a way to hold onto each other, or will the pursuit of their individual dreams pull them apart?

With intense emotions, undeniable chemistry, and a powerful narrative about self-worth and sacrifice, Game Face is a must-read for fans of sports romance and stories that pack a serious emotional punch.

Peyton and Wyatt are now attending college. Their relationship has blossomed and they have grown closer together. Plans are made for the future with Wyatt in the NFL and Peyton as an NFL wife - a role she has never seen herself in but is looking forward to. But then everything changes and Wyatt and Peyton have to learn what is important in life and what is not and see if their relationship can weather this storm.

Game Face is book 2 of The Waiting Series Next Generation and continues the story of Peyton and Wyatt. After finishing book 1, I rather thought that the other players' stories would be told as well, but I didn't realize then that I definitely needed Peyton and Wyatt in college. Both are more grown up now, but still kind of the same and I wouldn't have had it any other way. The love between the two was stronger and more palpable and really wonderful. I loved following them both through their college lives and planning for the future and seeing how Wyatt deals with the change in his football plans. I never expected the twist the story took then. Peyton and Wyatt's journey through this twist, the self-discovery and the stopping and realizing what is actually important in life touched me deeply. I wasn't expecting it, but this book gave me goosebumps.

When I finished reading Home Game which is the first book in this series, I remember thinking that I wanted more. I didn't know that I'd ever get it since that story definitely had an ending, but Peyton and Wyatt's romance continues here and it's a story that I never saw coming.

For real. This story took a turn that I never would have imagined and to say that it surprised me would be an understatement. It was so unexpected yet it made this story all the better. Wyatt and Peyton are nearing the end of their college years. Wyatt is QB1 and Peyton is still cheering on the sidelines. They both are planning for their futures when the unimaginable happens. Their love has only grown stronger since they left high school, but now, it's facing the ultimate test.

There is plenty of emotion throughout this story with just enough laughs to lighten it up. I love reading sports romances written by Ginger Scott, because she makes you feel like you are right there at every game. Every move, every detail. I'm not necessarily a sports fan, but I am a sports romance fan, and hers are among my favorites. The game, the rivalry, the romance, the family and the friendships. This book...this series...has it all and I can't wait for more.

Game Face is the second book in The Waiting Series, Next Generation and a continuation Wyatt and Peyton's story. They are college seniors and life is full of possibilities! I recommend reading Home Game first (book #1).

Peyton and Wyatt are so good together. They have so much love, so much chemistry together. They are serious athletes. Focused on their craft. But life has other plans. I was not expecting the twist that Ginger Scott threw our way. Wow. The angst is high. I love the determination and focus that comes through.

Waiting on the Sidelines (WOTS) was a favorite for me. As I wrote in my 2019 review: Waiting On The Sidelines is an amazing and emotional story that will leave your heart thumping! I was so excited when Ginger released Home Game in October which had all of the WOTS "feels." And now there will be more as Final Down will conclude the series.

Game face brings Peyton and Wyatt their happy ending...for now! Stay tuned for Final Down coming this June!

Thank you to Wordsmith Publicity and Ginger Scott for an eARC in exchange for my honest review!

Wyatt + Peyton - these two were so cute! They are the couple you want to root for the entire book because they are such lovable characters!

In true Wyatt fashion, he shows up for Peyton time and time again! Another relationship I really enjoyed playing out was Wyatt and Bryce! And don’t even get me started on Whiskey!! I need his love story STAT 🤗

I do wish the book was a little longer - not because the book was missing anything, just so we could get more Wyatt and Peyton as I wasn’t ready for their story to end! But that just makes me even more excited for book 3! (I see what you did there, Ginger 😉)

It’s been a while since I’ve read a book that wasn’t a stand alone - so this was such a nice change of pace! Ginger Scott makes you just keep wanting to come back for more!!

Game Face is out NOW🫶🏼

This is the 2nd book in the Waiting series.

Wyatt Stone is entering his final year of his college football career. He injured himself last season, and has worked hard to improve his body since the injury. Wyatt is a fantastic quarterback, but, his nemis Bryce from high school is now at the same college, and also competing for the quarterback position. Bryce and Wyatt compete against each other to make each other better. They aren't competing against each other so much, just making sure they both match each other.

Peyton Johnson is the head cheerleader of the team. She was the head cheerleader from her high school also. She is also a senior but not given as much leway as the football team has with grades and assignments so, it seems she is always studing. Peyton's father is still the head coach at the high school she went to. Although he seems to be at the college football practices more and more.

Peyton has moved into Wyatt's apartment, wanting to start their lives together. She was over at his place every night or every other night it seemed like. Peyton and Wyatt have a huge curve ball thrown at them. Peyton shows Wyatt what it means to fight and to lead.

This book was on the longer side.

Game Face by Ginger Scott is a football sports romance and is the second book in the Waiting Series. It is exciting and page-turning. Home Game is the first book in the series and must be read first to get Wyatt and Peyton's full story. Ginger Scott is an amazing author; I love her writing style. She creates fun, exciting, and drama-filled sports romances that keep me on the edge of my seat. I thought this book was original, heartbreaking, and heart-mending. I felt my stomach drop and soar a few times throughout this book, and I loved every minute of it. Ginger Scott can make you feel like you are at the game without overloading the story with detail. This series is beautifully written and will have you cheering and the games as well for Wyatt and Peyton to get all they want out of life. I thought the characters were complex and had an intense chemistry. I loved their banter and how their relationship grew in this book.

Wyatt and Peyton's story is one of sacrifice, unconditional love, and devotion. I was so excited to get my hands on Game Face, I devoured this book in a day and maybe lost some sleep to finish. I love how Ginger Scott wrote a HFN for Wyatt and Peyton. I can't wait to see what happens next in their story.

This crafty storyteller has a special gift for crafting a story with young but relatable and eternally endearing characters, and the more of her work I read, the more I love it. And learning that this is a next gen story makes me want pick up what I’ve missed from this phenomenal fictional world.

Wyatt Stone and Peyton Johnson have survived a college romance, and now, during their senior year, they’re looking forward to the future. Especially with Wyatt's promising professional career within reach. But life never makes things easy, and Wyatt has his challenges on the field.

Worse yet, he and Peyton get the worst devastation possible thrown at them. It’s the kind of tragedy that can tear apart an ordinary couple, but neither of them have gotten where they are is by taking the easy road.

Oh my heart, this spectacular young adult story is exactly why I read romance. No selfish immaturity here, just a rocky, challenging road that tests one’s tenacity and depth of love. A story of true grit, determination, patience, and triumph, this is my new YA romance favorite and one you absolutely won’t want to miss!

Game Face: The Waiting Series Next Generation by Ginger Scott is about former NFL player Reed Johnson and his cheerleader daughter Payton, who is dating a college senior quarterback at Arizona, the college they both attend. Football mate and high school friend Whiskey attends the same college as Tasha, Payton's best friend, to keep the banter and friendships fun. Throw in former rival QB and Payton's ex-boyfriend, and the tension ratchets up between Wyatt and Brice for the same QB spot on the football team. Don't forget that Brice might still want Payton back. When Tragedy strikes, Payton and Wyatt's love takes a hit, even though they still love each other as much as before. I laughed and wept. There were times when the tears fell as Payton and Wyatt lived through their struggles.
Yet, their struggles were unable to overshadow their triumphant successes. I especially liked how Wyatt and Payton deliberately chose each other first, no matter what. Once you pick up this book, you must continue reading until the end. I can't wait for the trilogy's next book to see if more dreams can become a reality for Payton and Wyatt.

"I have to take my hat off to Ginger for stepping back into Peyton and Wyatt’s world, and it looks like after this book she is going to do it again. I always love when a book finishes with a great epilogue, but I think Ginger has definitely excelled herself in this regard.
Their story showcases how they’ve grown as not only individual people, but also as a couple. But with highs there is always lows as well. The way this was written was of course sad to read, but I also found their reactions and how the story progressed made it all the more realistic.
This book does not end on a cliffhanger - thank all things holy because I am not a fan of those, but what it has done is to make me eager to see where they are at when the next book is released." ~Sharon

What a journey Wyatt and Peyton have endured. This story is as heartbreaking as it is inspiring. They both seem to be having their dream life and suddenly they are both being tested. I loved witnessing their resilience and the deep grit to fight for the life they deserve. I'm excited for the next chapter of their lives. Such a great story. ~Cindy

Rarely do I get to read a book focused on an established couple, fast forwarding into their future, which is one part of why I loved revisiting the world of Wyatt and Peyton.

Now in their senior year of college, their futures look bright, with Wyatt anticipated to be a first round draft pick. But turmoil off and on the field throws their world into chaos, and they face the toughest challenge of their relationship. Both Peyton’s parents, and Wyatt’s mom continue to have key roles in their lives, and help guide them through the changes.

This couple is so steadfast in their love- Wyatt is one of my favorite MMCs- he is guided by the morals and values instilled in him by his father, and it continues to be his North Star. As he finds himself struggling, Peyton and her dad are there to support him.

As usual, Ginger Scott strikes a perfect balance between wholesome and spicy. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!

Thank you to the author and Wordsmith Publicity for the opportunity to review this ARC!

I found myself really rooting for Wyatt and Peyton in this book. They are 3 years into their relationship and you can still feel the love they have for each other and I wanted things to work for them. I still adore Wyatt, I think he’s great and I love how strong Peyton is. I also think Reed really redeemed himself here, I actually really liked his presence in the book and relationship with Wyatt. I was sceptical of a previous character returning and I was constantly on edge waiting for the other shoe to drop, for some drama to arise, but it never came. Overall this was a good book, it was sweet, it was okay. It just sometimes feels like nothing is happening. Besides Peyton’s incident and her healing from that, things were pretty smooth sailing for the couple. Not much really happened with them together, before the incident, and then afterward obviously the focus was on Peyton healing. I would have maybe liked more scenes of them together, as they normally were, before things took a turn. I wouldn’t say I love it, but it was definitely a good book and I would for sure say I love Wyatt and Peyton. I am curious about their next book.

I've enjoyed Game Face. This is the second book in The Waiting Series Next Generation, it is a follow up in Wyatt and Peyton's lives, so even if it could be read as a standalone I suggest you to begin with the previous book, Home Game.

Wyatt and Peyton are senior students at the college, they are already looking forward to their bright future together. Everything is going like planned, until they have to face some issues and hardles tha could tarnish their relationship.

Peyton and Wyatt are perfect together, they love each other, they trust each other, they care so much for each other they would do anything for the good of the other.

I love this couple, and I cheered for them. The ending was more satisfying than winning an away game.

I've read a lot of Ginger Scott's works, and I've already praised her writing, but I want to stress it once again how credible, engaging, emotional, and easy to follow it is.

I highly recommend this novel, and I can't wait to get the next one to find out what will happen in the future.
