A storm is brewing in the kingdom of Maedri. Civil unrest bubbles under the surface as noble houses conspire against one another. Detached from this struggle are the common folk who struggle to meet basic needs as the very bounty of the land has diminished. A new leader has emerged from an unlikely source.

As the newly crowned king, Altaar faces resistance from the established nobility due to his common birth. He is a decorated soldier on the field of battle but is ill equipped for the subtleties of the capital.

While the king struggles to navigate the treacherous waters of court, a group of young soldiers discover the resurgence of an ancient enemy along the frontier. They face formidable odds but are driven by a sense of duty. Beyond their post lay defenseless farm steads and hamlets on the steppe, all ripe for an invasion if this group of young heroes are unable to somehow stem the tide.

A tale of loyalty and courage in the face of oblivion. With conflict looming on its borders, can the kingdom of Maedri survive?
