Emma Lacey and Hanna Fink aren't just two figure skaters at the same small-town Vermont rink; they're best friends. After Hanna dies in an unthinkable tragedy, Emma gives up skating altogether.

I really enjoyed this short story. It’s subtle and thoughtful, with a lot of emotional depth that sneaks up on you. Given the recent loss in the figure skating world, it felt especially meaningful—like it gently touched on something real without being too on-the-nose. A lovely tribute to friendship, memory, and finding your way back to something you loved.
