Oceanview Cove's first boat racing tournament ends with a champion crowned, a hundred thousand dollars in prize money, and a celebration at the Salty Breeze that goes late into the night.
By morning, the champion is found dead inside the bar and the money is gone.
Shawn swears he locked up. The sheriff doesn't believe him. Jim and Ginger know their friend is telling the truth. Which means someone got a body into a locked bar without leaving a trace, and made it look like the bartender did it.
Jim and Ginger have solved a few murders. They've never had to solve one that shouldn't have been possible.
Enjoying a binge of this series after having read 7-10 thrillers in a row, while immersed in a week of dental procedures, car & home repairs. I definitely was in need of some books that were quick reads, cozy, a little silly, don’t take much thought, and won’t keep me up past my bedtime. A series of books about a retired librarian (I am one too) and a talking cat (I love cats), are definitely a purrfect answer to this. Lots of fun, low stress! I’m onto the next one —I’m reading at least 2 a day.
I just love snarky Ginger cat and his ongoing commentary about anything and everything. He’s also got a clue sniffing nose that makes his half of the Jim and Ginger PI firm so successful. And I love how Jim always puts together an unforgettable showdown, this one being pretty funny at what actually helped catch the perp.
I'm 78 years young and your adventures are very uplifting!! Please keep them coming. If l had a cat like Ginger l would never stop laughing. Can't wait for more sass from Ginger!
A boat race with $100k first and only prize. Some dodgy mishaps with the two leading contenders, and then the winner is killed after celebrating and the prize money goes missing. Jim and Ginger are hired to find the money.
A quick, enjoyable read, featuring a talking cat who can make the perfect cup of coffee, complete with a perfect fish design in the foam. Who wouldn't enjoy having a cat like Ginger?
