A few months ago we danced.
We flirted.
I’ve never wanted a woman more.

But she was too young for me.
Too unguarded.
Wide-eyed college girls with curves for days don’t end up with possessive bikers that have blood on their hands.

Somehow I found the strength to push her away.
Now she’s back, walking into my tattoo shop and asking another man to put his mark on her skin.
Over my dead body.

She gets inked, it’ll be by my hand or no ones.

My bad boy biker rep might not match with her sunshine.
But I know we belong together, so this time I'm not letting her go.

This time I’m claiming her. Mine. Forever.

3 - 3.5 smut-scale stars!

Marked by the Possessive Biker was great until it wasn’t 😂😂. The hot and cold from the hero got annoying and the heroine felt a little desperate. So, yeah, it was fine.

I mostly liked this book, but Boss wasn't my favorite MMC. I really struggled with his hot and cold behavior towards Lexi. And at one point, he said "I’m not sure what’s wrong with me. I am usually attracted to thin women," and that spoiled him for me for the rest of the book. Honestly, if he hadn't said that, I would have given it 4 stars. But it made me too uncomfortable.

“Marked by the Possessive Biker” is the story of Lexi and Boss.

Reluctant hero who kept pushing heroine away, who was in pursuit. It stretched a bit long and he went from denial to being into her in a page.

Safe.. ish

4 ‘GET IT GIRL’ stars!

This was a great way to fill in a few hours, & though short, it packed just the right plot to keep the reader engaged from start to finish.

The author uses the pages wonderfully given this is a shorter read— not bogging you down with unnecessary details, or an over complicated story line that leaves things feeling messy and unfinished.

I absolutely adore these short little reads, & I really loved this— only reason it wasn’t a 5 star for me was due to me wanting more pushback or resistance from Cruz (over protective brother & all), but the rest was fabulous.
Boss & Lexi together is absolutely darling!
Lexi was a force!.. & in the best possible way. She knew what she wanted and once she realised it was in her reach made her own magic.

It is always nice to visit Whiskey Run. This is a very lite MC story about Boss, an Exiled Guardian MC member, and Lexi, a college student. Wasn’t a huge fan of the continuous hot/cold thing with Ben and his statement of “usually attracted to thin women”. I loved how strong and feisty Lexi was as she brought him to his knees. Cute story with heat and a HEA.

Marked by the Possessive Biker (Heat & Ink) by Hope Ford

A scorching, possessive romance filled with tension, passion, and a biker who can’t fight fate—no matter how hard he tries. Months ago, he pushed her away, convinced a rough, dangerous man like him had no business claiming a sunshine-filled college girl like her. But now she’s back, standing in his tattoo shop, ready to let another man mark her skin.

His first instinct? Stop it. His second? Push her away again. But this time, she’s not having it. She knows what she wants—him—and she’s not walking away just because he’s too stubborn to accept it. When the walls finally crack and he gives in, their chemistry is explosive, but the real question remains: will he hold on to her this time, or will his demons drive her away for good?

With a broody, overprotective biker, a fierce heroine who won’t take no for an answer, and a love story packed with heat and heart, Marked by the Possessive Biker is an unforgettable ride.

As someone who almost always devours anything this author publishes, I’m genuinely disappointed to say that this was barely a three-star read for me. Unfortunately, this just wasn’t one of my favorite books by Hope. Let’s start with Ben (Boss). His maddening habit of blowing hot and cold had me rolling my eyes more than swooning. One moment, he's flirting with Lexi; the next, he's humiliating her in his tattoo shop and sending her packing. Then, as if that wasn’t enough, he turns around and starts stalking her—seriously? And the audacity to ask if she was dating the guy he saw her with was a bit much. I can appreciate a good dose of angst in my romances, but this was enough to give anyone whiplash. No wonder Lexi was confused! To make matters worse, Ben was so stubborn it was exhausting. He made all these assumptions about Lexi, deciding she couldn’t handle his biker lifestyle without even giving her a chance. Personally, I think she managed just fine. In fact, I would have loved to see her confront some of the club cherries—no doubt she would have more than held her own. And can we talk about the chemistry? Or, rather, the lack of it. All that push and pull left their connection feeling lukewarm at best. Plus, that throwaway comment about usually dating thin girls? Yikes. So, was he slumming or what? Not a good look, Ben. Honestly, I like my bikers to be decisive—men who know what they want and aren’t afraid to go after it. But Ben’s version of "pursuit" felt more like a sad boy pining outside her dorm window than a badass biker staking his claim. It was ultimately Lexi who had to push him to make a move, and thank goodness she did! Her walking into his shop and asking another man to mark her skin was pure gold. That scene was the straw that broke the camel’s back, and honestly, it was about time! In short, this one fell flat for me. Here’s hoping the next book brings back the spark!

Boss/Ben, member of the Exiled Guardians, and owns Heat & Ink in Whiskey Run. He screwed up a few months ago when he met a woman and when she came to see him told her in front of a client to basically get lost. He wasn't interested in a virgin. Now here he is at her college looking to see her. When he does he asks her how she is. She looks at him with an indifferent face. Then tells him to leave.
Lexi was humiliated months before and stayed away from the clubhouse where she went with her friend. Now here is the bad boy who wants to know how she is???? WTF????? She turns and leaves him and goes back to her class workshop. Maybe she should have kissed him to get him out of her system. But nope.
The next day at work he's so focused on Lexi that when his client offers herself he sees her out. His friend and one of the tattoo artists talks to him. He hears whats going on and tells him he needs to back off or the Pres won't be happy with him drawing attention to the club. She gets a call from her bestie who's dating her brother and pulls over to the side of the road. They talk and then Boss/Ben is there. They have another little to do about his following her. He finally leaves.
The next day she goes to the tattoo shop to get a tattoo done that she drew. She asks for Gunner but he takes her to Boss. When the smoke clears he;s the one who will do the tattoo. She tells him about the tattoo honoring her parents. Then after she cries and then asks him to kiss her. He takes her for a ride on his bike. He is trying to convince not to want to be with him even if one night. But she knows what she wants and she wants him tonight.
Will his stupidity hold him back from what could be a good thing?
A lovely story of a strong woman going for what she wants even if it's not good for her.

The mountain may crumble but you will not

Marked by the Possessive Biker by Hope Ford is part of the multi-author Heat & Ink series, and also ties into her previous book, One Night Valentine: Tangled in Temptation. This story is about Lexi Payne and Ben "Boss" Dalton. Lexi is the younger sister of Cruz Payne and best friends with Tara, who's story was in One Night Valentine. She is a college student who is majoring in marketing and in her final semester. Boss is a member of the Exiled Guardians MC, and also a tattoo artist at the Heat & Ink Tattoo Parlor. A few months ago Lexi met Boss when Tara was dating his straight laced brother and the three of them went to the MC clubhouse. That night there was a connection between Lexi and Boss but then he disappeared for the rest of the night after spending a few hours together. When she showed up at the tattoo parlor and just about threw herself at him he was cruel and sent her away. Boss knows that Lexi is too good for him, that he would not deserve to be with her, and that is even before you get into the age gap and really opposite lives. But for some reason he cannot stop thinking about her and has basically been at the point of stalking/following her just so he can get a glimpse of her. But when he shows up at her dorm building and she confronts him it is all bets off....but things will not be easy between them and he will definitely screw things up more than once. Will she walk away and if she did would he really let her go?
I really enjoyed this story and was really entertained. I liked the tie in with Tara and Cruz and how they are in the background but still play a part in the story. I am happy that Lexi finally got her man, even if she had to stand her ground about it.

Brought to you by OBS reviewer Heidi

Ben ‘Boss’ Dalton is a member of the Exiled Guardians motorcycle club. He met Lexi at the clubhouse a few months ago. They shared a dance and they both wanted more, but he knew she was too sweet and innocent for the likes of him. He pushed her away, hurting her feelings in the process. It was the right thing to do, but he can’t get her out of his head.

Now, he finds himself watching over her. He follows her to make sure she makes it home safely and hangs around her college campus hoping to catch a glimpse of her.

However, when she walks into his tattoo shop and asks another man to tattoo her, is the step too far. He takes over her tattoo session. The only mark she will wear is the one put in by his hand. He can’t stop with just a tattoo though. He’s ready to claim her body and soul and let the world know she belongs to him.

I’m never much of a fan of short stories, but this wasn’t bad considering the length. You felt like you got to know the characters and there was a small bit of backstory as well. Granted, there was nothing all that deep about this book. It was basically a couple fighting themselves and hooking up.

I found the way Ben kept changing his mind from pushing her away to claiming her in the blink of an eye was annoying and unrealistic. Pick a lane and make up your mind, dude.

There was nothing remarkable about Lexi. I didn’t like or dislike her, she was just there. A typical college girl with a crush.

This book was okay for a short story, but there really isn’t much to it. There really can’t be at this length. It was a nice way to spend a couple hours though.

She met him through his brother. She was interested and thought he was too until she showed up at his shop and dismissed her, sending her away. Now all of sudden he is showing up at her dorm and following her home. She is mad at him until she realizes he is conflicted. He wants her but thinks he shouldn't. So she decides to give him a push. He knows he hurt her feelings when he sent her away, but he thinks she is too good for him and his lifestyle. He doesn't think she is cut out for the MC life, but he also can't stay away. He thinks about her all the time, and doesn't know what to do about it. Until she shows up at his shop and asks another guy to do her tattoo, and there is no way he is letting another man put his mark on her, so decides he has to be all in. And once he decides he is all in, he is going to claim her. This is a fun little turn on the big bad biker. He still has all of that going for him, but he is also an instalove marshmallow who is trying to make sense of his feelings and figure out what to do with them. When they get spicy, things really steam up. She is sassy and not willing to take any gruff from him. Once they get past that, they are all in and ready for their happily ever after.

4.5 stars!!

This is part of a multi-author series called Heat & Ink and features Ben, aka Boss, who is a tattoo artist and member of an MC called Exiled Guardians.

Ben is the most stubborn MMC that I’ve read in a while! Under the guise of doing what was best for Lexi, he pushed her away and humiliated her in front of his coworkers and clients but then wouldn’t leave her alone.

Ben was hot, yeah, and he was sorta sweet—he had his moments—I guess, but I think he just had a guilty conscience because he knew he messed up big time! And he did, he crushed her but then got upset when she didn’t want to talk to him.

I had a little bit of sympathy for him by the end but that was only thanks to the author, that she was able to make him even a tiny bit redeemable. Lexi on the other hand was way too eager to forgive him despite everything when I would’ve preferred to see him have to grovel a bit since he never seemed to learn from his mistakes.

By THE END, I was able to look back at him with a different perspective and ended up loving him as I do most of this author’s MMCs. Lexi, she was likable, she just should’ve made Ben work a little for her forgiveness, in my opinion. Overall, I ended up loving it, which wasn’t much of a surprise, it was a good book.

Ben—known as "Boss" to his fellow Exiled Guardians Biker Club members—is a talented tattoo artist with a rough exterior and a heart he tries to keep guarded. Months ago, he met Lexi during a night of drinks and dancing, and their chemistry was undeniable. But when Lexi boldly showed up at Heat & Ink, his tattoo shop, to express her interest in him, Ben shut her down.
Now, time has passed, but Ben can't get Lexi out of his mind. He convinces himself she’s too young, too curvy compared to his usual type, and ultimately too good for him. Yet, despite his self-doubt, he can't help but watch over her—ensuring she gets home safely and occupying his thoughts far more than he’d like to admit.
Lexi, on the other hand, knows her worth. She took a chance on Ben once, and she refuses to waste time on a man who runs hot and cold. Fiercely confident and unwilling to settle for less than she deserves, she isn’t about to let Ben toy with her heart—even if the attraction between them is undeniable.
I really enjoyed Lexi’s boldness and self-assurance. Her dynamic with Ben made for an engaging, tension-filled romance. This was a fun, fast-paced read, and I look forward to more stories set in the Heat & Ink world!.

Fate shows him age isn’t anything but a number. Ben sexy as all get out “Boss” older biker part of the Exiled Guardians MC who lives in a world that often can be dangerous, a tattoo artist, and met the most amazing women at a party at the clubhouse knowing she was too young for him but that didn’t stop him enjoying their time together dancing, talking, something about her. Lexi is sweet when she wants to be about to graduate college building her own business, going after what she want that includes who she wants, since she had that one evening him treating her with a cold shoulder she is going after the man that her happy despite him pushing her away and so arriving asking for a tattoo from another artist does the trick rather quickly 😊. Ben isn’t going to let another touch his girl and he isn’t letting her go either in fact he has given up the notion of trying to stay away from her the magnetic pull can’t be ignore any longer and like it or not these two are on the ride so buckle up but where is it headed, will he keep her safe in his world, will he realize he can fight all he like but the heart wins most times, and will happiness grab our old guy never letting go?

Worth the read

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about Ben/Boss because of what he said to push Lexi away before the book began, luckily all of that was in the past, and I didn't have to read about it or I would have probably hated this (we just had their thoughts and memories and that was bad enough...I just hate the "break up and get back together" plot so many authors use). I was afraid he was breaking up with her the day after they got together to try to protect her again, but she didn't allow it. This book isn't as descriptive as I typically like. I understand this was meant to be a shorter book, but I feel like some more descriptions were needed for this book to be a 5*. For example, we don't exactly know what Ben/Boss or his motorcycle club does except that at the end it talks about how Ben/Boss saved a bunch of women/kids from trafficking and it's dangerous which is why he kept trying to push Lexi away (honestly, the love scenes weren't super descriptive either). It's almost like this book is part of a different series that I've never read, so the author assumed I knew things that I didn't, BUT I did like this book enough to want to read it again.

Whiskey Run is always a fun place to return to, and the men who work under Walker are always great men. This was a short novella with angst and some steam. I really liked Lexi’s character, she was so strong and never backed down even when pushed away. I wasn’t a huge fan of Ben/Boss though. I understand why he was pushing her away initially, but the constant hot and cold, even after claiming her, was too much. Lexi is better than me at her stubbornness to stay, because there’s only so much humiliation and heartbreak a girl can take! There was a lot of talk about club girls, and it seemed like the story was setting up for a confrontation, but there never was one so that was good in my eyes. I expected more push back from her brother too, but I really liked that scene and how Boss went to see him. No cheating, slight OM/OW drama maybe? But it was mostly them being jealous and nothing on page, dual POV, HEA and a really sweet epilogue. I actually really liked Boss in the epilogue so he eventually redeemed himself! Looking forward to reading more from Hope Ford.

Lexi (h) knows better than to fall for a possessive, overprotective biker, especially one who pushed her away the second things got serious. But when Ben "Boss" (H) shows up outside her dorm, acting like she still belongs to him, she’s had enough. If he doesn’t want her, why won’t he let her go? Boss tried to walk away. Lexi is too good for his world, too innocent for the violence and danger that comes with being part of the Exiled Guardians MC. But no matter how much he fights it, he needs her. And when she pushes back, refusing to let him call the shots, he finally gives in. Their attraction is intense, their bond unbreakable, but Boss’s world isn’t safe. When trouble comes knocking, he tries to push her away again, but Lexi isn’t backing down. If he thinks she’s just going to walk away, he doesn’t know her at all. A steamy, high-stakes , age gap, second chance, opposites attract, MC romance, exploring love, connection, jealousy, loyalty, and risking everything for the one person you can’t live without.

Engaging and well written!
I really enjoyed Marked by the Possessive Biker by Hope Ford. This contemporary, opposites attract, MC, short read is full of great writing, romance, some spice, and wonderful characters. Lexi and Boss (Ben) both question if they should be with one another but journey together through their doubts to find their happiness. I love the connection they have with each other and the support they show one another. I also LOVED Lexi’s tattoo design and what it represented to her. I felt it was so well written and such a compelling part of Lexi’s history that I had mention it without giving away too much of a spoiler. I also enjoyed the link to Whiskey Run and Lexi’s best friend/brother. Marked by the Possessive Biker is part of the Heat & Ink series but can be read as a standalone.

I absolutely love how possessive Ben is or rather Boss as he wants to be called. I like that Lexi is equally obsessed with him and both of them are mildly stalking each other, which is great. (Equal rights and all that lol)

Being that this is an Instalove book, they both fell hard and fast, and the pace was very well maintained the rate which they fell for each other, and their relationship group was believable and realistic, which is something I look for in romance.

One thing I absolutely love about this book and all of Hope Ford books is the world building and interconnected community she has built.

Marked by the possessive biker was no different. I love that. We got to meet Lexi and Ben in Tara (Lexi’s best friend) and Cruz (Lexi’s brother) book. Seeing their cameos in this book was a lot of fun.

All in all, this was a five star Reid for me and I will continue to read anything Hope put out.

Ben—known as Boss—knows he’s not the man Lexi deserves. He’s part of an MC, older than her, and makes his living as a tattoo artist. Meanwhile, Lexi is on the verge of graduating college, already building her own business, and fearless in chasing what she wants.

He should walk away. But from the moment he sees her, he knows he won’t.

And Lexi? She’s too stubborn to let him push her away.

This story is a fast-paced, addictive read filled with passion, sweetness, undeniable chemistry, a touch of angst, and raw, honest emotions—all leading to a heartfelt HEA. However, it picks up in the middle of an ongoing world, so if you haven’t read the previous books, things might feel a little confusing at first. But once you’re in, you won’t want to leave.

thank you to instalove influencers for the arc

Ben aka Boss is part of the Exiled Guardians MC and when he meets Lexi he knows she is special to him but also comes from another world so when she comes to the tattoo shop where he works as an artisr he pushes her away and hurts her. But he can not stop thinking about her and more or less stalks her but than runs cold again. When she asks his buddy to put ink on her he snaps, being possessive and not letting someone else touch and mark his woman. When he attempts to run cold again Lexi stands her ground, being to stubborn to let him treat her like this.
Love Hope Ford's stories and they are always captivating with great characters, same here. Enjoyed meeting some people again, like Lexi's brother and best friend.

Marked by the Possessive Biker is part of the multi-authored Heat & Ink series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, opposites-attract, curvy girl gets her biker romance. Lexi is a sweet, sassy, and curvy college student. Ben aka Boss is hunky, grumpy, burly, inked member of the Exiled Guardians MC and a tattoo artist. The two met months ago, but Ben pushed her away because he felt he was no good for her, hurting her in the process. But he can't stop thinking about her and watching her. Can he get out of his head and let her in? Will she forgive him? This couple had insane chemistry, and the ending was happy after a lot of drama. I was excited for their story after meeting them both in Tara and Cruz's story, and it did not disappoint. I loved it.

I am a huuuge fan of Hope Ford...pretty much will rwdanuthing from her and this is not different.

Hope has a way of giving you not only a relatable story but all the feels as if you were the character orthe preferable fly on the wall.

Ben/Boss is in love with Lexi and has been since he laid eyson her as she with him. The hindrance is clearly him and for valid reasons: he is older, more experienced and lives a life that is just not for a good girl. But what Ben/Boss doesn't see is that ther is more than meets the eye when it comes to Lexi and he finds out when he allows himself a taste.

Lexi is strong, and sadly and has the gumption to meet Boss right where he is. She makes it clear that Ben/Boss has met his match and his only move is to accept it and talk to her...cause she ain't going anywhere.

DNF. "You're too good for me."
"But I like you and want us to be together."
"I'm no good for you"
"But I like you and want to be together."
You're too good for me. We can't."
"But I like you and want us to be together. Please!"
"I'm no good for you. You deserve better"
"But I like you and want to be together. Let's try!."
Rinse and repeat for the ENTIRETY OF THE BOOK.
And when he DOES claim her, she's like "what's going on!?!? I don't like or understand this!!"

Ben and I forgot her name were the two of the most wishy washy, moronic, whining characters I have ever read. Their thick headedness literally upset me. I couldn't read anymore about their tepid, mewling not- relationship. I don't care how it ends. My opinion only. Feel free to read and form your own. But don't say you weren't warned.
