Solve the case. Save the girl. Stop the killer.

Protect Wren. The minute that Jacob Jones receives the text from his brother, he springs into action. Wren Maye is the golden girl from his childhood, the star of his teenage fantasies, and the one woman who was always off limits to him…because she was his twin brother’s girl. Over the years, he kept a careful distance from Wren because he knew she was the one person who could wreck his careful control.

She’s in danger, and he’s the only one who can save her.

Jacob arrives just in time to stop Wren’s abduction. Now he’s going to be her shadow because Wren is the target of a killer bent on vengeance. Jacob has always maintained a careful distance between himself and Wren—but there is no room for distance any longer. There is danger. There is desire. There is a vicious obsession that will not end. So now, he’s just going to take what he wants. And, yes, he will damn well fight his brother for her. He will fight the world for her. She will be his. No one will hurt what belongs to him.

She thought he hated her. Now he’s being her hero.

What is a woman supposed to do? One minute, the delectable Jacob Jones is keeping an icy distance between them, and in the next instant, he’s saving her. Kissing her as if his life depends on the task, and swearing that he’ll keep her safe from any and all threats. And in order to do that protection bit? He has to assume the role of his brother. He’ll be her lover. Or…at least Jacob mistakenly believes that was the role Ebenezer “Eb” Jones had in her life. Newsflash—she has never belonged to Eb. How could she? For years, she’s been hooked on Jacob. The intense and brooding twin who knows far too much about darkness.

A killer will use her to get his vengeance.

It is Wren’s connection to both Jacob and Eb that makes her the killer’s perfect target. He wants to kill her in order to punish the brothers. A life for a life. The twins will pay for their crimes. And they will pay by losing a woman who is so very important to them both. A friend to one. A lover to another. An ice-cold grave for them both to visit as they mourn for what they lost.

Vengeance is best served ice-cold. And desire? It’s best when it burns red-hot.

Author’s A cold case from the past is about to shatter Jacob’s world. If he can’t team up with the Ice Breakers and solve this case, he may lose the woman who has been his life-long obsession. The woman who owns his heart. Get ready for another Ice Breaker Cold Case Romance…danger, steam, a hero who will not fight his desire any longer. Be careful when you wake the beast. Because he will fight like hell for the woman he wants.

Oh lord, my heart! With danger and drama as well as a chemistry between this hero and heroine that absolutely sizzles across the page, I was immediately captivated. Jake is absolutely amazing! He’s determined to protect Wren at all costs, even when it hurts him to keep his distance because of his loyalty to his brother. Talk about the lengths he’s willing to go to in order to keep her safe! His outlook is everything I love about this author’s heroes.

Wren’s character was just as compelling as the storyline itself. I couldn’t wait to uncover what was happening behind the scenes in her life. And once it all came to light, my heart broke all over again, aching for her, yet in awe of her fierce strength. Early on, I made some predictions and felt pretty confident I'd nailed it. Uh, no. This was one twisted tale that completely blindsided me with its delicate, masterful weave and I loved every second of it.

I’ve been craving a romantic suspense and Cynthia DELIVERED.
This book had it all- an obsessed hero (understatement), a sweet but brave heroine in hiding, found family, friendship, steam and a solid plot.
I loved how obsessed Jake was with Wren since years. The story was fast paced and well executed. But I guessed the killer correct.
I just wish Jake saved himself for wren as he was in love with her since high school but their situation was tricky so I understood why he wasn’t. Didn’t like it though.

I loved it and enjoyed it but it didn’t blew my mind hence no 5 star.

Tropes:
-He falls first and harder.
-Brother’s best friend.
-They knew each other since high school.
-Obsessed hero and equally obsessed heroine.
-Pining, forced proximity, Killer on loose.
-Highly recommended and safe.

I received an advance review copy and I’m leaving this review voluntarily.

Protect Wren!!

Jacob “Jake” Jones’s has been sent by his brother to protect the woman he’s been in love with for years but she’s his brother’s girl. Maybe!

“Fine, he’s scary hot,”

Wren has lived a nightmare as a young girl. She’s been hiding for years. Her secrets are about to be exposed.
Let me tell you these brothers are bad to the bone. You’ll fall in love and be hooked from beginning to end.
There is nothing better than an adventure by this amazing author.

Note to self: Jake admits he’s been in love with Wren since he was 16. That she’s starred in every fantasy of his, and that she’s never left his mind.

Even when he was fucking other women. Yup, and they say romance is dead. Of course, Wren remained a virgin because she only loved Jake.

….

That was me throwing up a little in my mouth🤮

I had such high hopes based upon Jake's "obsession" with Wren from day one. But nope. There's only one virgin here and it isn't him. *cries*

"You've owned me since you were sixteen years old." - Jake to Wren

And yet, you had no problem loaning your body out to other women. Grrr.

I just threw up a little. "You've been on my mind since that moment. In every single fantasy that I've had. Even when I eff other women-" -- Jake to Wren Why? Why would you say that? Let alone do them, err that.

Forbidden Ice is a thrilling blend of action, mystery, and just the right dose of romance, the kind that makes your heart race and keeps you turning pages late into the night!

I was instantly pulled into Wren’s story. She starts off as your classic badass heroine, but there’s so much more beneath the surface. Her past? Twisted, emotional, and packed with secrets that hit like plot twist grenades!
And Jake? Oh, Jake. Certified book boyfriend material. He’s the perfect mix of intense, protective, and irresistibly enigmatic, basically, everything you want wrapped up in one swoon-worthy package.

The scenes with Hunter? Comedy gold 😅 Cynthia Eden has a real talent for crafting side characters who shine just as brightly as the leads. They’re clever, unpredictable, and add that perfect layer of levity to the tension!

If you’re craving a read that’s gripping, fast-paced, and delivers both thrills and feels, this is it!

I have read a LOT of Cynthia Eden books, and I enjoyed most of them. My favorite is still Jinx, You’re It in the Trouble for Hire series. Do yourself a favor and get that book—you won’t regret it😊. Recently, however, I must admit to finding Cynthia’s books too formulaic …

It feels like once you’ve read one, you’ve read them all. Don’t misunderstand me: Cynthia’s books are still very much worth the read—the action, suspense, and romance are all there and very well balanced, but her heroes are starting to feel like they are the same person. Although I love an alpha male, it feels like I am reading about the same character but in different stories. These alpha males also appear over the top in their motions, always lunged, lurched, bounded etc.—the verbs used to describe them in motion are forceful and dramatic. This bothers me because I cannot help but picture their movements, and then it comes across as funny and not serious as intended; it has the effect of pulling me right out of the story as a result.

But enough of that. Forbidden Ice is Jacob/Jake and Wren’s story. Jake is Eb’s identical twin and Marley’s brother (we got Marly’s story in one of the other Ice Breakers books). Jake had been in love with Wren since the age of sixteen but never made a move on her because he thought that she was his brother’s girlfriend. When danger lands on Wren’s doorstep, Eb sent Jake a cryptic message “Protect Wren”. Jake went in search of Wren and got to her just in time to save her from an attacker. Realizing that he could have lost her forever, Jake decided to “claim” what was his (Wren) and was willing to fight his brother for her affection, consequences be damned. Thus began an action-packed journey to Jake and Wren’s HEA.

I liked both Jake and Wren but was not crazy about the ambiguity around Wren’s relationship with Eb. I suspect the author used this approach to create angst, but it didn’t work for me, and Eb’s frequent claims of “I love Wren” did not sit well with me. Eb eventually clarified that he loved her as a friend, but still, there were romantic feelings and a kiss in their past, hence this line was just a bit off for me. If, according to Wren, Jake was always the one, why did she kiss his brother during their teens? I know they were young, but that was inconsistent for me. Another thing that bothered me was that Wren was “saving” herself for Jake while Jake was going around having one-night stands, claiming that the women he slept with was a substitute for Wren (rolling my eyes here). This trope is getting really, really old now: The woman does not HAVE to be pure, and the man does not HAVE to be a man-wh0re. If Wren could wait for Jake, why could he not do the same?

I liked how obsessed, protective, and crazy in love with Wren Jake was—I enjoy that in an MMC. Wren had the same feelings for Jake but hid it just as well (as he did). Wren was also not the typical bland, just-need-to-get-this-hot-man-to-love-me FMC you find in a lot of romance books. She had a backbone, did not throw herself at Jake, and knew her own heart, mind, and worth. I admit to finding Wren’s constant stuttering of the word f-father annoying after a while, but I quite liked her. The action and suspense were equally good and the twists somewhat surprising. The one minor complaint I have where the romance is concerned is that the spicy scenes were not as well written as in other books.

Other than the above, I do enjoy this author’s books and will continue reading it.

FORBIDDEN ICE is the thirteenth instalment in Cynthia Eden’s contemporary, adult ICE BREAKERS COLD CASE romantic suspense series focusing on a group of men and women who work for Ice Breakers, a former online team of crime solvers whose goal it is to solve cold cases. This is realtor Wren Maye, and former FBI profiler and Ice Breaker agent Jacob Jones’ story line. FORBIDDEN CASE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed when necessary.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from omniscient third person perspectives FORBIDDEN ICE follows in the wake of the threats against our story line heroine. Wren’s past is mired in darkness and death, but the two constants have been twin brothers Eb and Jake Jones. An attack against our heroine, following her best friend’s bridal party, finds Wren under the protection of Jake Jones, the man she has been quietly lusting after for most of her life. As the threats against Wren become more personal, revealing the secrets from her past, Eb and Jake believe they may be the target, and Wren is a pawn in a much larger game.

The world building follows the desperate need to protect our story line heroine who is in total denial regarding Jake and Eb’s depth of love and emotional attachment towards Wren Maye but one is willing to step aside to ensure the happiness of his twin. As the threats against Wren increase, the possibility of someone close upends the worlds of Wren, Eb and Jake.

The relationship between Jake and Wren is one of friends to lovers but Wren’s need to deny Jake’s feelings and attraction is more of a protective measure in the face of losing them both. Wren has always believed Jake’s actions and attitude bordered on dislike but both Jake and Eb were willing to step back as long as one or both were Wren’s primary protector. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters are energetic, desperate and dynamic. We are introduced to Jake’s twin brother Eb: Wren’s ‘uncle’ Milo; Declan Flynn (Cruel Ice), and Hunter; and Wren’s friends Makayla, Tom and Jennifer.

FORBIDDEN ICE is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, murder and retaliation, obsession and madness, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is intriguing, twisted and edgy; the romance is spicy; the characters are determined and charismatic.

I very much enjoyed this story. I was so looking forward to the twins and I was excited to see we got one of their stories. Since we only met them briefly in their sister's story, we really didn't get to know them. We only knew that they were dangerous men. Reading Jake's story was so enlightening.

First off Wren had a horrible beginning to her life. I felt so bad for her, and she turned out to be the sweetest, caring person you'd meet. I'm so happy she has the twins in her life. And her uncle Milo. She needs love around her. Because of the twists and turns within the story you wonder more than once who's doing what. The author does a good job at trying to keep who's doing all this under wraps until the end.

Jacob is so protective of Wren. So much so that she really doesn't understand why that is for him in the beginning. This is why you need to talk people. Information is gold. I love how Jacob charges home because he is told that Wren is in danger. Without a second thought he's home and standing in front of her in seconds.

The story is very fast moving with Wren being in danger over and over. You'll like how she handles herself and just how smart she is. She uses her past to mess with the killer's head. Sometimes the bad guy isn't as bright as they think.

Besides the romance in the story the mystery is a good one too. You'll enjoy this story very much. As much is this is a standalone within a series, I would say that you should at least read the prior book. A character from that one play prominently in this story. I would also go back and read the whole series because it rocks. I'm looking forward to Eb's story which is next.

HOLY ANXIETY ATTACK! Another non-stop action-packed thriller (# 13) in this highly habit-forming series from Cynthia Eden, an automatic one-click author for this reader. Her writing and characters captivate, and her plots always keep me fully engaged start to finish. And this installment continues the perfect record for the Ice Breaker Cold Case Romance Series. I'm already excitedly awaiting the arrival of #14 - Ice Cold Liar on June 24, 2025!

Twin brothers, Jacob (Jake) and Ebenezer (Eb) Jones, have been best friends with Wren Maye since the age of sixteen. Unbeknownst to the boys, Wren is carrying deep and dark secrets that she’s never shared. Through the years, feelings heightened, and she became the object of both men’s affections. Wren loves them both -- but each in an entirely different way. Now the ugly past has caught up with Wren and the friendship is facing challenges. Life-threatening secrets have surfaced, danger lurks and lives are at stake.

“Forbidden Ice” is a masterfully crafted compelling page-turner full of twists and turns that will steal your breath and keep you on the edge of your seat sending chills down your spine. CE does an incredible job of weaving gripping and edgy multiple sub-plots together to create an explosive storyline. It's a total package of shocks and surprises with its unpredictability to the very end.

This five-star read is cleverly plotted, well-paced and filled with intense emotions –including the beauty of brotherly love, friendship and romance. Despite the darker and unsettling themes, I was quickly drawn in and thoroughly consumed by the story and its characters.

Craving a book that's equal parts thrilling suspense and an extraordinary love story? Look no further, this one has it all in spades!

*****

NOTE: Readers should be aware that the story contains triggering issues – sadistic madness and horrifying cruelty.

You love reading about overprotective, grumy men who'd walk through the fires of Hell to keep safe the woman he fell for at sixteen? You love sassy women who've gone through said Hell, fought back and came out stronger? Who, in return would destroy anyone who dares to even think about hurting their men? Start reading Forbidden Ice and you'll not want to put down your book or Kindle before you reach the end.

Jacob or Jake as he's called by his closest friends is called upon by his twin brother Eb to protect Wren when a threat is outed against them. He needs to keep her safe until they find out who's out to destroy them. Jake, who's been in love with Wren ever since she saved him from an accident years ago, rushes over only to avoid her getting abducted.

Wren has loved Jake for ages but never acted upon it. He's always been grumpy whenever he was close to her, he's even avoiding her whenever they get together so she thinks he wants nothing romantically with her. When Jake saves her from multiple attacks, she thinks it's her past coming back to haunt her. She's never told Jake or Eb about what happened when she was young.

What we get next is a race against time to find out who's hunting them, every time I thought I had it figured out, it turned out I was wrong. The tension between Jake and Wren is combustible, you can feel the love they have for each other splat off the pages. We also get cameo's of previous characters and the banter between Jake and some of them is just hilarious.

This book kept me from my daily chores, every free minute I had I found myself reaching for my ereader to get just one more chapter in. In usual Cynthia Eden style she kept the suspense high and the romance thrilling. I was rooted to my seat, anxiously nailbiting to see both Jake and Wren get their happy ending.

I loved everything about it and am already looking forward to Eb's story that's coming up next.

Genre & Tropes : Suspense romance x Revenge plot x Secret identity x Dark past x Childhood friends to lovers x Virgin Heroine x Touch her and die x Spicy

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

And here we go with the book featuring Marley's first brother !

Ever since we saw Marley's brothers in Cruel Ice, I was super excited to have books about them ... And unsurprisingly, I devoured this book !

I loved the romance which is at once cute and sexy, but also full of misunderstandings ! And the plot was very gripping, and even though I guessed the culprit's identity, I loved the tension and the twists and turns with the various attacks !

And that end ... I really need the book with Eb >< I feel like it's going to be like Lark and Oliver from Buried Under Ice, and I can't wait !

In short, a suspense romance that I read with great pleasure !

PS: I really need the book with Eb, but also one with Hunter !!

Jacob “Jake” Jones has stayed away from Wren Maye as he believes that she loves his twin brother, Ebenezer aka Eb. Until he receives a text from Eb, only two words, Protect Wren. He arrives barely in time to save her from being kidnapped. Who could be after sweet Wren…everyone loves her! Assuming that it is someone after him and his brother, he now refuses to leave her side. Wren knows that Jake believes that she loves his brother, and she does, but only as a friend. Even though Eb is in the CIA, he is believed to be the more engaging brother while Jake is definitely rough around the edges…and everywhere else. He is the only man she has ever wanted! She is not the weak woman that Jake believes her to be as she survived a truly dark past. He is unaware of what she has lived through and seen that no one should ever have seen. Again, she is almost taken, but he is there again to save her. When her friend is kidnapped, Jake vows to find her, but things are not always as they seem and their attempt to find her explodes out of control. It will be a fight to the death and who will be left standing? There are so many twists, suspense, danger and hot romance that you won’t want to miss one word! WOW, WOW, WOW!!!  This book grabbed my attention from the beginning and all I could do was hold on for the ride.

Wren Maye’s horrifying childhood has left her with a new identity that only a select few know about. Not even the twin brothers she’s known since she was sixteen know how dark her past is. Then an obscure message from his brother to ‘Protect Wren’ has Jacob Jones barely arriving in time to stop an attempted kidnapper determined to take Wren.

Ebenezer may be the more laid back happy twin, and he’s been her best friend since they were teens, but it was his brother Jake, with his dark broodiness that is often on Wren’s mind. She just can’t figure out why he hates her so much. After Jake saves her life Wren is even more confused when Jake professes that hate is the last thing he feels for her.

With a sadistic killer on the loose, and conflicting information pointing in different directions, Jake and Eb are only more determined to protect Wren at any cost. But none of them will be prepared for who or what’s coming.

I received an ARC and freely offer this review.

Protect Wren. That is the message Jake Jones receives from his twin brother Eb. Jake has wanted Wren since he met her at sixteen years old. Jake thought Wren and his brother loved each other and they do, just as friends. Wren Maye is back in her hometown for a friend’s bachelorette party when she’s almost abducted but Jake saves her. Wren has always thought that Jake didn’t like her because he wouldn’t be alone with her or barely talk to her. Jake plans to keep her right by his side. Then someone is waiting for her in her Uncle’s house and Jake saves her again. Jake believes it’s has something to do with his and Eb’s past but Wren has been keeping secrets and she thinks it’s about her. When a friend of Wren’s is taken, they want Wren to trade herself for her friend.

Wren is keeping secrets and doesn’t believe in love. Jake is hot and scary and thinks he has too much darkness inside of him. Action. Steamy. I absolutely loved this story. Mrs Eden has outdone herself with this book. I’d definitely give it 10 stars if I could.

Forbidden Ice is the 13th (yes 13th!) book in the Ice Breaker Cold Case Series by Cynthia Eden. While I always enjoy Ms. Eden's writing and all of her series, I kind of missed the Ice Breakers appearance in this one. They were mentioned but didn't play a big part in this one and that's not to say that the book isn’t another winning romance suspense by one of the best in this genre, because it most certainly is. Wren's story is a heartbreaker and there were times I just balled my eyes out for this poor girl, but she is one strong girl so don't sell her short because she is brave and fierce and courageous and I loved her. I liked Jake too, but he was a bit over the top with being the protective alpha, but I understood why he was like that with "his Wren." I love all of Ms. Eden's books and series. I only hope that the Ice Breakers make a bigger appearance in the next one -- I look forward to Eb's story! I think it will be another page-turner. I'm grateful to have been given the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book through NetGalley.

Forbidden Ice is the 13th book in the Ice Breaker Cold Case series, but can be read as a standalone as there are only minimal connections to the previous book. Get ready for an extremely intense, gripping story, a real tour de force that kept me glued to my reader from the first word to the last. I've enjoyed all the couples in the series, but Jake and Wren are my new favourites. They are just sooo good together and I especially loved Jake's total devotion to Wren. Their journey to a well-deserved HEA is full of violence - prepare yourself for some fairly graphic scenes straight out of a horror movie. Yet there is also the beautiful blossoming of their love and attraction leading to sexy times that are equally hot and emotional. Add in true friendships, unexpected betrayals and witty dialogue and you've got another keeper. Now I can't wait for Eb to get his story next.
I was fortunate to have received an early copy and am leaving this review voluntarily and honestly.

Protect Wren...

Jake's twin brother Eb sends Jake to protect their friend Wren, who they grew up with. Jake is not very bright, as for years he's thought Wren and his twin brother Eb are an item. Even though Wren has crushed had on Jake the whole time. Jake only does one night stands and Eb sleeps with everyone and Wren has now only ever slept with Jake. Oh, and someone from the twins past is targeting Wren to make the twins pay. So, of course Jake has to pretend he's Wren's lover in a one bed situation.

Wren has always been attracted to Jake, the dark twin who happily wears his darkness as a cloak. Though Jake has been obsessed with Wren for years, he fails to see her interest in him and her own darkness that is even darker than his an that she carries her own scars and demons.
Dang it! Cynthia Eden knocked it out of the ball park with this suspenseful and steam read that is packed with action.
Buckle up, babes!

“Protect Wren !” Now that’s how you start a book and no mistake hehe . Jake has loved Wren since his teens but she was his twin’s girl so definitely hands off . However when Eb sends him to look after her he hits the ground running as Wren gets attacked and there’s no way anyone will hurt Wren whilst Jake around !
This was fun with twins who are both definitely the growly , protective types that so many readers love . Plus Wren has a backstory that is truly awful and heartbreaking . The mystery of just who is after Wren was very well done with surprising twists and of course a happy ending . Yes Jake comes to help save Wren but honestly she’s no pushover which I loved . It’s set in the author’s Ice Breaker world but actually works quite well as a standalone I thought . I’m definitely looking forward to discovering more about Eb so looking forward to his book soon.
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts are I believe honest and fair

Forbidden Ice (Ice Breaker Cold Case Romance #13) has Cynthia Eden’s signature all over it. What is it, you ask? First of all it is men who protect others but feel that they are not heroes but bad men. Then women who are stronger than the men or even themselves believe. Add in danger that never stops coming along with the suspense of solving where the danger is actually coming from and from whom. In addition is the chemistry that no matter how much it is denied cannot be cooled down but ramps up even more as the couple are in close proximity. Best of all, a happy ending which in this case is not only for Jake and Wren but for another couple too. Ice Breaker fans will love this new addition to the series while all other romance suspense fans will want to read the entire series after reading Forbidden Ice.

oh, those Joneses!

Just, WOW!! I knew that Marley’s brothers would make for excellent stories, but this had twists and turns that completely shocked me. Jake is everything that one would want as a dark, brooding, dangerous hero who is completely in love with Wren. She’s a strong, feisty, intriguing woman with secrets in her past. There’s danger, excitement, murder and mayhem, Eb and Hunter and Declan in supporting roles and enough sizzle and electricity to make your heart speed up. Another terrific addition to the Ice Breakers and a teaser for the story that will feature Eb. I only hope that Hunter will get his chance for adventure as well, he’s very appealing.

This is such a fantastic book and I couldn’t stop reading. Loved how Jake fought his feelings for Wren when he thought she was involved with his twin. But when he finds out they are only friends, he shows his possessive side. Loved how protective he is and that no one will harm her. The plot was pretty twisted and I was absolutely shocked at who wanted to kill Wren. This book is worth re-reading and I had some happy tears towards the end. Loved their happy ever after and I can’t wait for the next book in this series. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.

Twists and turns, intrigue and suspense kept me on the edge of my seat and I just couldn’t put it down!
The chemistry between Jake and Wren is just perfect! Sparks flying all over the pages!
Great dialogue and well developed characters.
I absolutely loved it!
Forbidden Ice is the 13th installment in the Ice Breaker Cold Case series by Cynthia Eden. You can read it as a standalone but I would recommend to read the series in order because of reappearing characters and just because you don’t want to miss out reading them, one of my all time favorite series!
I received this arc from the author and this review is my honest opinion

Great book

This is another great book by Cynthia Eden. I love this series. Jake and Wren make such a great couple. I like how much they love each other. There were several sweet moments. I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow.
The plot is very cool. Her past is very interesting and the mystery of who’s targeting her is something I enjoyed trying to solve. Several twists appeared at the end and they were great. I didn’t guess it. Story wrapped up very nicely.
I recommend this book and series and can see me reading this again. I look forward to reading Eb’s story next.

I am shocked by how low I rated this book, especially in comparison to the others in the series and other series of Cynthia Eden. But I just did not like this book. I was frustrated with the lack of clear communication between our main characters, who just talked in circles at some points instead of being brutally honest and unbelievably clear. Also, this series is feeling like it's drifting further and further away from the Ice Breaker storyline. They were mentioned maybe twice but otherwise had no involvement in this story.

Spice: 3/5

Wren and Jacob were meant to be. I thought there would be more of a love triangle between the twins but I'm so glad it wasn't! The book jumps right into the action and doesn't ever really stop. I feel like while the book was fast paced, it also felt rushed. Some parts were a bit predictable but overally, I enjoyed the banter between the characters. I like that Wren was strong and not a naive damsel.

I absolutely love Cynthia Eden’s books and this one was no different. She always keeps me guessing on who the bad guy is while delivering a steamy romance with the best touch her and die vibes. The chemistry was off the charts with enough funny moments to keep it from getting too heavy. Alpha hero + badass heroine = a book you will struggle to put down.

WOW! Once again not disappointed!!! Cynthia Eden has done it again with a compelling mystery romance in this series. It’s well written fast paced, detailed and lots of romance. I love to read this series. Jake is sent by his twin brother Eb to “Protect Wren”. This is so worth the read if you like mystery romance. The books are standalone so it makes no difference how they are read.

Not her best, not her worst

I had high hopes for Jake and Wren and while I liked both of them, I was kind of bored with the plot.

It wasn't Eden's worst book in my opinion, but it's not in my top 5 either. Worth a read if you like the Ice Breakers series. I'm not sure I'll read Eb's book, but if Hunter gets one, I'll go for that. That's the joy of interconnected stand alones.
