The other day the family went out for dinner together and my niece decided to entertain us with jokes, which I thought would be AWESOME!
Unfortunately, her jokes suck. Now granted, she's five. But still, the girl needs help. All right-thinking kindergarteners should know at least a few ham-fisted knock-knock jokes. So, I commenced a dinnertime lesson in hilarity....only to discover to my horror that I actually didn't know any jokes! I tried the old "Orange you glad I didn't say banana?" classic and f-ed it up. I needed help.
This led me to Johnny B. Laughing's Funny Jokes: 125+ Hilarious Jokes. You know you're in good hands with an author with a surname like that! Dude must've been born funny! But then I started reading...
Q: Which astronaut wears the biggest helmet? A: The one with the biggest head!
Q: What kind of doctor does a duck visit? A: A ducktor.
Q: What do you get if you cross a skunk and a wasp? A: Something that stinks and stings!
In fairness, things did improve...
Q: What happened when the owl lost his voice? A: He didn't give a hoot!
Q: What did the worm say to the other when he was late home? A: Where in the earth have you been?
Q: Did you hear the joke about the skunk? A: Never mind, it stinks.
By the time I finished I was inspired to pen one of my own off the top of my head...
Q: What's a monkey's favorite letter? A: Eeee-Eeee!
A collection of 125 jokes on a variety of topics from astronauts to dinosaurs and dancers! There's plenty of jokes old and new which will appeal to both genders and have children laughing. All of the jokes are child friendly but some will need a bit of explaining for them to understand but all in all this is a great fun and free collection.
What stopped me from giving this five stars was the bad punctuation and occasional difficult concept in some of the jokes. It really depends on the age of the child you're giving the book to though. I would think that the vast majority of children would understand the jokes and appreciate the added challenge but it all depends the understanding they are gaining through reading.
This is definitely a quick read, but one that children will want to revisit. I'd recommend this for children aged between 5-10 though this would obviously only be a guideline as many younger and older children may derive pleasure from the jokes too! It definitely would have to appeal to their interests for the older part of the age spectrum. A book which children won't realise they have to 'read' and will learn and enhance their skills whilst doing so!
This book is a collection of jokes, organized by topic.
A good portion of the jokes are reliant on puns, so if that sort of thing gets on your nerves, you probably won't like this book. At times, it was pushing it with me. There are only so many variations of "aardvark" I can take before I start wanting to bludgeon people.
The best thing about this book is that all of the jokes are child friendly, and generally inoffensive. There are no blonde jokes or Yo Mama jokes here.
My biggest takeaway from this book was the realization that joke writers for kids love giving themselves ridiculous names. It almost seems like a necessity.
It just told about different animal joke. I mean come on peeps. It is not even 125 jokes. This is crappy stuff they are trying to get away with. It's terrible people. Do not buy. I repeat do not buy. It is just children garbage. It's the worst book ever.
Not as funny as I was hoping. Yeah it made me say HA a couple times but nothing like hilarious and fall of your chair funny. It really did mean (Early & beginner readers.)
This book had some corny jokes and was not that funny only certain one was funny. This book had more animal jokes which made the book nonfunny. I really did like this book but at the same time I did not like it.
lucky for me one of those things like this and that was my favorite part time for me and you will have to see to believe it Nick and I don't want to see.
Thanks for sharing this funny joke book with us! I would love to Download this book and share it with my little ones. It sounds like a great resource for kids to practice reading and telling jokes. The bonus free joke book download is a nice touch as well. Thank you!

I really thought this was a fun book for kids and know my grandkids would love the jokes, some are pretty corny and I think that's what makes them laugh out loud funny. I wish their would have been some illustrations with the jokes so kids could also see the silliness, For me though that was the only drawback. I found the jokes funny and I liked that they were categorized too.
This book may be funny for some children, but half of them are not funny at all. I think the jokes could have been a lot more funny . The name of this book should be "BORING JOKES THAT DON'T MAKE SENSE". That is all I have to say about the ,so I guess overall I hated this book.
Lovely brilliant good for kids age 8 if you're 8 read now I picked 5stars because its brilliant please read now if u don't just bye it its the best joke book ever made been voted the best in the world if u don't believe me have a look on google or any social media right now so everyone read now and look baby xxxxxxx
Meh. It was ok, I guess. I mean, you really need more jokes. And I didn't laugh once! That's no good, now is it. Everyone should be able to laugh at these jokes, not just little kids and babies
This book is adorable, in an easy to read format. Great for kids or adults to tell to kids!! I could definitely picture a kid being excited to tell their friends these jokes, they also come in categories
Comedy is a very personal thing. Young readers are likely to enjoy this book and repeat many of the jokes. As an adult it helped past the time flicking through at a quick paced read while waiting for an appointment.
