When my parents moved to Brooklyn, Ohio, in 1950, my mother was pregnant with me. My parents bought a two-story house on the corner of Tiedeman Road and Manoa Avenue. We lived there for twelve years while my parents completed their family. Growing up, Brooklyn was the best place in the world to live. The kid-friendly neighborhood was paradise to us Johnsons and every other kid who had the privilege to live there in the 1950s. My brothers and all of their friends were an extraordinary story that needed telling and sharing. I hope you will love reading it as much as I loved living it.
Funny family stories from a bygone era. A nostalgic look back in time from the perspective of a little girl watching her mischievous older brothers trying to make their marks on the world.
Reading this book was like being a young child sharing antics and daily life with a friend during a sleepover. It also gives a little insight into growing up with a large family.
Loved this book! The story telling talent made me want to read more about this family's adventures - so much that I finished the book in 2 days! Great job, Fern!
